Cincinnati: Sycamore Twp. - Sycamore Financial Center
Glad to hear that you are FINALLY starting to understand (extreme sarcasm)... [rant on]Public Meetings are just that, PUBLIC...anyone can go, anyone can have their thought heard....If they don't want this development, you bet your ASS sycamore township residents will be at the meeting demanding that their opinions be heard (not that i think that this will be denied...i have a suspicion that this will pass). If people go to meetings, make their case, then they have done all that they can do....they have done their duty...if you don't like the decision...take the decision to court...if you don't like it again....get people not to vote for the commissioners/trustees/commission member who voted for it...and the good thing about PUBLIC meeting is that they don't care what race, socio-economic background you have...YOU ARE A RESIDENT AND THEY MUST LISTEN TO YOU, they don't have to agree with you....but they have to LISTEN...[rant off] also randy yah in Sycamore Township...residents do have MORE say in what the governemtn does that is because they are 1 in 2000 instead of 1 in 300,000...one person's opinion can actually mean something ina small government...if there is one thing that I have learned it is that people get LOST in the big government...i guess my rant avtually didn't end until now..but ohh well...comments?

Cincinnati: Sycamore Twp. - Sycamore Financial Center
This plan is VERY scaled down over the previous one. But, It will pretty much tower over the single family homes to the rear. It was also denied at the Hamilton County Regional Planning Commission Meeting. Based on the fact that the Land use plan for the area stated that the site should be used for low intensity uses, this project does seem to be out of place. But hey...how dare we care about those neighbors...

Cincinnati: Mason - Great Wolf Lodge Indoor Resort
most places like this require you to buy a hotel rorom in order to use the facilities. With prices like that...probably won't be able to go there and check it out. Also....i like other people's money better...hopefully they see some other parts of the city as well when they come

Gas Prices
Different kind of band.... But I know from experience that many drum and bugle corps have folded based on the fact that they cannot pay for the gas to tour around the country(some of these groups have been around for 50 or more years). I know that my drum corps is facing similiar problems now. When you travel 30,000 miles in about 3 months..gas prices can really hurt you. I know that some corps are talking about taking trains to and from performances for long trips and then taking the buses only for short trips...no matter how you look at it, the touring life has to change, it's getting too expensive i know, i know..................................band geek

Atlanta in July
I understand that Atlantic Station is not downtown, and that there are slight differences….But, when we had the banks discussion everyone was completely turned off by this development…but how can you say that THIS^ is not what the banks is pretty much going to look like.…Atlantic station has three different parts to it (we only want the dense one, of course)….THIS^ seems like what I expect/want for the banks. All I would add is connectivity to surrounding areas....I think we lost a good developer when we lost this developer...

Is Over-the-Rhine As Bad As They Say?
Can someone direct me :? (because i am sure that it has been discussed sometime on this thread)? What is happening on Vine between central parkway and about 3 blocks north of central. I ride by that location everyday and i am noticing some BIG changes  . There are about 6-7 storfronts that are being TOTALLY re-done. One looks like it is a spa/tanning/i don't know what. It is Very modern looking. :-D ..It is exciting to see the changes taking place. Is this development p[art of 3CDC's stuff or is this seperate?

Columbus ranked #11 best city for singles, cincy #26, Cleveland #37
if you were a 20 something young professional on a plane to cincy for business...and you were reading a Forbes magazine...would you not be more likely to go check out the bar scene while staying in cincy than if cincy were not on the list...a lot of people read forbes...it just seems that this CAN'T be a bad thing.....all of US know that there is no actual research done but………….hypothetically……..Lets say Cincinnati rises to #1 on all of the rankings (no research.. just happens, kind of like this one)……best place to live, best place to work, best place to party, best place to raise a family, best place to ride a bike, etc….would those rankings in Newsweek , Daily newspapers across the country, CNN, New York Times, give way to more people moving here, or at least looking into moving here, relocating their business, vacationing….in a time where IMAGE is everything, could these image boosters be one piece of the puzzle to revitalizing this city??? ….could something like this work in OTR??? If everyone heard that OTR was completely safe and that it was the best place to do whatever? Would it aid in turning around that part of the city???

Columbus ranked #11 best city for singles, cincy #26, Cleveland #37
I see your point and as I stated I always take these rankings with a grain of salt, EXCEPT….people are talking about Columbus and Cincinnati positively…This conversation involving these cities is a good thing. For Forbes magazine (whether or not the rankings are backed by facts or not) to put cincy at #1 speaks for how Cincinnati is viewed by some people in the nation. These rankings make Cincinnati and Columbus look good in the eyes of the people that read them. This article is an IMAGE builder … This ranking of best places for singles is not scientific but it could give us an insight on how people view certain areas of the country…We need to look at this as a positive thing because readers of the magazine will see C-bus and Cincy in the rankings (Free Publicity). 2 months ago the nation saw that Cincinnati had the highest percentage of people leaving the city. We were called the next Detroit (not good) This is some good publicity that cincy has not had in a long time….good for cincy :-D…good for c-bus :-D ….good for Ohio :-D …

Columbus ranked #11 best city for singles, cincy #26, Cleveland #37
Columbus was ranked the #11 best city for singles by forbes magazine. This ranking took into effect everything from nightlife, culture, Cost of Living, The amount of singles, and other variables. This was the first year that the rankings took into effect per-capita values instead of raw values. Columbus #11  - #10 Culture - #10 nightlife - #19 – number of singles - #7 cost of living Cincinnati #26 #1 NIGHTLIFE :-o #16 culture #9 cost of living Cleveland #37 I always take these rankings with a grain of salt because they always seem flawed. But hey! C-bus and Cincy come out with some good rankings. C-bus’s overall ranking is not surprising given all of the national press they have received. Cincy being #1 per capita nightlife is a little surprising :-D …by the way these were METRO rankings so Alchemize and other clubs leaving OTR won’t affect the rankings as long as they stay in the region…discuss… http://www.forbes.com/2006/07/24/singles-best-cities-cx_lr_06singles_0725intro.html
