Dayton and Cincinnati: one metro? (Reprise)
I think what Pigboy meant by "looks good on paper" was that now you have the opportunity to have a region with 3.1 Million People. This looks good when trying to get companies or other retail venues into the region ...It Just makes the region look more substantial in the eyes of the Nation....i don't think that it is a bad thing.....the sprawl thing i understand, nobody likes sprawl :-P...but i think that a combined region would look very good in the eyes of the national general public...

Toledo: Warehouse District: Development and News
how close is UT to downtown....this is a very interesting proposal. I'm sure that the housing market surrounding the law school would be greatly impacted. I also had no idea that UT was merging with another school. This seems like a very interesting idea and i look foreward to seeing this develop... I hope that UC would do something like this....I would love for DAAP or the Law school to move downtown....It would be amazing :-D

Cincinnati: Housing Market / Affordable Housing
Why don't they redefine it then.....why do we have to play by the rules while everyone else makes themselves look better than us....lets increase our designated CBD size, annex into 3, count them, 3 counties and claim to be the only growing city in ohio... :argue:

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
This seems like the most recent project that "The Banks" can use for inspiration as well as use to tell developers that this thing is going to work. Let's get this thing off the ground with a solid design!!! :-D ...

Cincinnati: Clifton Heights: University Park Apts/Calhoun Street Marketplace
The banners have a suprisingly positive effect on the area. The area doesn't seem quite so empty now that the windows are filled with color. Really excited about this spring as those store fronts start filling up. When some of these new stores open up, maybe they will start construction on the dirt pile across the street.

Super Sunday Blues: Detroit basks while Cleveland...?
I Agree^^^I am starting to get information on how to bring The DCI(Drum Corps International) world Championships to Cincinnati. It is a four day event that would bring between 40-50 thousand people to Cincinnati from all over the U.S. Many stadiums including Paul Brown, and nippert as well as many high school stadiums would be utilized. This event is shown on ESPN and gets over a million viewers..."Small" projects like this, when done correctly bring very good publicity to a city. DCI WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2010 CINCINNATI!!! By the way- last year championships were held at Gillette Stadium (the Patriots) and this year they will be held in Madison, Wisconsin at Camp Randall Stadium at the University of Wisconsin. Next year it will be held in Pasadena, at the ROSE Bowl....come on if it is good enough for the rose bowl, it is good enough for Cincy!!

Amazing Building....I have a friend one of my classes that believes that Dubai is going to be a truly amazing city within the next few years...after some research i can't say that i disagree....this skyscraper is only a small part of the master plan for the city....which includes dozens of office towers as well as the largest man-made island, which will more or less be a city in and of itself...this place is going to be/IS amazing!!! ....can't wait to travel there when i get out of college...in 20 years..haha

Cincinnati: Clifton Heights: U Square @ the Loop
I think we can agree that a wallgreens will NEVER have the character that old St. George has...That is what i am trying to say. The new development on calhoun st. will someday have character. But the semi-suburban, homoginized, retail and apartments already built would not have the character that 15 seperately developed buildings would have. The building is enormous and doesn't have a human scale. . . you walk down that street and feel like you are standing in the middle of moscow...expecially with all of the vacancies. . . i think someone has already stated a lot of this, so i will no go on any further. I look at the stetson square project on MLK...another project that UC had sponsored, and you see, dynamic architecture. . . beautiful buildings. . . .why was the detail not paid at University Park???.....it seems like a much more important development....doesn't it??

The Nati, Character can NOT be Designed...character cannot be built...character cannot be planned...character must be lived in, character is a feeling, character shows everyone that a place is different from another place. For you to say that some gems have been lost, and that is ok?...i am confused the quote in your profile...a slightly hippocritical statement....The NATI...This beautiful building should not be torn down so that a cookie-cutter wallgreens can be put up, or for that matter, it shouldn't be torn down so that a beautiful new school, or apartment complex, or police station could be put up.....most historical buildings are historical for a reason...i think you know, THE NATI, how i feel about the McMillan project...so losing any more historical buildings for what i think is a lost cause, seems wrong to me....There are NO gems like this one left in cincy....
