Cleveland Browns Discussion
You obviously don’t know what you’re talking about. Belichick inherited a team that was 2 yrs removed from the AFC title game. The Browns had the skilled players in place, but also had a poor O-line. Instead of rebuilding the O-line, he ran Kosar, Slaughter and Langhorne out of town. Belichick made the playoffs one time in 5 yrs, and because of the hatred of the Browns he created when he released Kosar, he was one of the reasons the Browns left for Baltimore. So the bottom line is that Browns’ fans got the raw deal, not Belichick!!

Ohio Census / Population Trends & Lists
Cleveland’s CSA also gained Ottawa County because Sandusky’s MSA now includes Ottawa County along with Erie County. So now the Cleveland CSA extends to within 20 miles of Downtown Toledo.

Cleveland’s MSA gained Ashtabula County.

It could also mean that the Cleveland MSA is now much larger.

The Ohio State University Buckeyes Football Discussion
Your take is embarrassing when you compare Ohio State to other schools, especially Nebraska. OSU has had very few losing seasons in the last 60 years! That’s because Ohio is a football-rich state in terms of high school talent, along with the fact that in the last 20 yrs or so Ohio St is ONLY northern school that is capable of winning a national title. Anyone who coaches OSU is going to get around nine wins. I’m not saying Day should be fired, but the jury is still out on him. He inherited Urban Meyer’s program; not only the players/recruits but also the coaching staff as well. Like Harbaugh said, Day started off on 3rd base. Most coaches would have done well in that situation, so maybe you should hold off on putting him in the hall of fame!! The bottom line is that the hiring of Day is going to turn out to be a mistake. He had no ties to OSU or the state of Ohio, other than the few years he was an assistant under Meyer. This may not be fair, but his overall record doesn’t matter when you get your a$$ kicked by Michigan 2 yrs in a row, especially when his 3 predecessors lost 2 times in 20 years!! Hopefully Ohio St finds another coach in a few years, because Day was a bad hire!

NFL: General News & Discussion
Here’s an article about possible NFL expansion cities, including Columbus. https://syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/10039102-eight-cities-that-would-be-perfect-spots-for-nfl-expansion.amp.html

Cincinnati: Potential New Arena
TV market size is the only metric that matters when it comes to pro sports, and Cincinnati is the third largest in the state. Having said that, I think the NBA would work well in Cincy, though there are several cities that would get expansion franchises first.
-
Toronto: Developments and News
This is just a dumb, ignorant, asinine comparison. Toronto is Canada’s New York in a country in which the population is less than the state of California. If Toronto was an American city, it would have developed differently simply because there are many other large cities in this country. Toronto has benefited because there are only a handful of large cities in the 2nd largest country in the world in sq miles. It’s astonishing that you don’t realize this.

Cleveland: Population Trends
Before 2003, Cleveland and Akron were in the same “metro area”. I can’t remember if it was MSA, CMSA or PMSA. All I know is that Cleveland’s listed metro population was around 2.8 million. After 2003, it down to 2.2 million because Akron was removed. I’m pretty sure that most posters on here know that the makeup of these CSAs/MSAs/Micros are determined by the OMB. But apparently you don’t realize that local officials do have their sayso. In other words, Cleveland and Akron will not merged into a single MSA without the blessing of Akron officials. So yes, there are politics involved.

Cleveland: Population Trends
While I agree that Wadsworth is an Akron suburb, it’s in the Cleveland MSA.

Cleveland: Population Trends
The problem with your statement is that Macedonia, Twinsburg, Northfield and other cities in northern Summit County are Cleveland suburbs. This is what happens when metro areas are defined by county lines, which is the dumbest way that I can think of. The bottom line is that there is so much overlap between Cleveland and Akron, in reality they are in same metropolitan area. The reason they are in separate MSAs is because of politics. In other words, Akron officials don’t want there city to be seen as a Cleveland suburb. My guess is that these same officials would have no problem if Canton was merged with the Akron MSA and thus becoming an Akron suburb!! It’s funny how that works!!

Cleveland Browns Discussion
All of those QBs you mentioned had elite talent around them and great coaching. Mahomes and Roethisberger were drafted by playoff contending teams. Baker was drafted by the winless Browns who since 1999 have been the worst team in pro sports. He since has had 4 head coaches, at least 3 off coordinators and one of the worst defenses in the NFL. This year he has lost his best WR, RB, TE and O-lineman, and the defense has been riddled with injuries and some of you people are wondering why he isn’t an “elite” QB? Some of you people are amazingly ridiculous!! After all the Browns are 8-3 not 3-8!! Take a chill pill. Please!!!

Cleveland: General Business & Economic News
Again, especially from a cost standpoint, why would the city EXPAND the airport when when the current facility is severely underutilized? And the fact of the matter is that the airport has gained a decent amount of new service since the hub closure. Haven’t you been paying attention?

Cleveland: General Business & Economic News
Why in the world would the city go for an airport expansion when there isn’t nearly enough air service to support the terminal we have?!

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
I’m still trying to figure out what the mayor’s treatment of the media concerning his nephew has to do with whether or not SW stays downtown. Remember, Frank Jackson has always given the media a cold shoulder. This is nothing new. Meanwhile, a decent amount of development has happened downtown during his 12 years in office. I think it’s time for the author Mr Larkin (the author) to retire. He’s been doing this sh*t for too long!!
