  1. He worked for Squire Patton Boggs after that? I don't see any corruption angle.
  2. I think they are a bit into the conspiracy theories on this. Jim McGraw is in charge of the KMK Consulting arm not the law firm. This is a governmental consulting firm that consults with municipal governments. Doesn't matter. If true very very smart play. that is exactly how to acquire real estate if the end goal is the west end. You don't announce West End or die and then hope.

Interesting. Was at the store yesterday and a guy asked me if I was Germany. That was a first. I thought my English was without any noticeable accent. Maybe he was from somewhere else IDK.
  4. Depending on how the stadium is situated, that "plaza" area would probably be behind gates. I think that rendering was designed with Newport in mind with that plaza facing the River. Not sure how that would translate to the West End where they would be more constrained on all sides by streets and existing buildings. Yeah they could do it by securing the plaza, or there could be secured gates at the stadium entry points. Either way would work.
  5. I like Vacation AKA Hillbilly Express. Sometimes they and Apple Vacations sell/share packages on the same charter flight so check both, sometimes one is a bit less expensive than the other.
  6. Committee is consistent, thus OSU getting in last year.
  7. There are a lot of conservatives here?
  8. MLS wants soccer only stadiums. MLS decides who gets in. You guys sound like you’re in a cult. Explain? 1. That’s at least the 10,000th time I’ve read the “MLS wants it period” on the internet somewhere, possibly 100th time today 2. Please at least acknowledge the Groundhog Day like absurdity of the situation that we’re in, after sparing no expense on the stadiums the last time, while letting many other things go to rot 3. If you read what I wrote I am actually arguing for Newport as the least insane insane option. It could at least leverage some investments we’ve made in the Banks parking garages and perhaps drive some bar/restaurant business at the Banks by proximity. Using PBS would be the sane option but MLS may not let sanity prevail as you pointed out It isn't a cult. The MLS wants soccer only stadiums.

U.S. loses to Trinidad, fails to qualify for 2018 World Cup For the first time in 32 years, the United States men’s national team has failed to qualify for a World Cup. On one of the worst nights in American soccer history, if not the worst, the U.S. slumped to an ugly 2-1 loss to Trinidad and Tobago. In simultaneous games, Honduras beat Mexico 3-2 and Panama beat Costa Rica 2-1. Those results sent the U.S. crashing toward elimination https://sports.yahoo.com/u-s-loses-trinidad-fails-qualify-2018-world-cup-015400543.html
  13. So they will be closing the same stretch of street again this weekend. That whole area has really become a sight to see on weekend nights. It has to be a huge headache for UC administrators. They've invested so much into those few blocks and on weekend nights the whole area is complete and utter bedlam. I can only imagine the phone calls these 18 year olds living in the fancy apartments overlooking this must be making to their moms, who in turn must be calling in complaints to UC on a near nonstop basis. I had no idea that area was an issue, at least it is being addressed. Still a shame that the problem exists.
  14. nah. Only p5 schools rake it in. That goes right back to funding all of the sports that lose money. You can pay male athletes 50k and cheating programs will pay them 100k.
