Shaker Heights: Van Aken District Transit Oriented Development
Word is going around that Micheals Genuine is closing for good this Friday. Pretty sad if true. I worked there for a bit and went every so ofter to grab something to drink(went alot during the pandemic to get takeout). Also hearing that Shake It is closing as well.

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
Sometimes I take Euclid Ave to head to work and its starting to feel like a canyon when coming in through Playhouse Square.

Shaker Heights: Van Aken District Transit Oriented Development
Its always been busy when I go on the weekends. During the week this time of year its expected to be a bit slower as most restaurants open after 4pm and most people there either work or are just passing by.

Cleveland: Historic Photos
Such density and life. Old Cleveland reminds me of victorian era London with the crammed buildings, soot and industry.

Shaker Heights: Van Aken District Transit Oriented Development
Hey thats me! I live down the street and spend weekends in Van Aken and its amazing out the new apartments are adding a sense of "density" to the area. My family that lives in the east side is surprised when I take them through the district and they see this behemoth rising

Public Areas in Downtown Cleveland
Have already been through there and while I enjoy it it gets a bit stale(unless I can explore the Tower itself but thats usually a hard no. Hmm never thought about that! I should give that a try. Has anyone been through the Standard or any of the newly renovated historic buildings?

Public Areas in Downtown Cleveland
So I work in the Warehouse District and I find myself with an hour long lunch with nothing to explore. I pretty much walk around the district and the Flats but its getting kinda boring. Is there any historic buildings downtown that have public lobbies/rooftops where I could just walk in?

Cleveland: Ohio City: Irishtown Bend Park
rwashington89 replied to Boomerang_Brian's post in a topic in Northeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionCurrent day. Interesting to see that Carter Rd used to be railroad tracks. Such a density(and poverty)! Would be hard to prove what it once looked like without historical pictures.

The Official *I Love Cleveland* Thread
So I work downtown now at the Worthington Building and I usually spend my lunches walking around downtown. Is there any way to tour any of the historic buildings? Or are any open to the public? Just looking for some ways to spend my lunches and I'd love to check out some of the interiors.

Looks like the city has a great housing stock that's being kept in pristine condition.

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
^I agree, I always feel like the water facing side of the buildings have such a unique look that is pretty much hidden unless you have a boat.

The Kingsbury Building in Shaker...
^ Van Aken/Downtown Shaker was a HUGE factor in choosing this location, especially since the Blue Line will run right into it! Its gonna be nice to have two "downtowns" within a 10 minute train ride from me.

The Kingsbury Building in Shaker...
Thanks for the replies everyone! I submitted my app and did a security deposit so I hope to hear back within a day or two. I really hope down the line that some more attention gets focused on the building because it is gorgeous and has great street presence! I will update with information once I actually get the place. Does anyone else live in the area(besides the BelievelandD1)? Besides the obvious, where are good places to grab a drink or watch a game? Luckily the Blue Line will take me anywhere along the way downtown but its also nice to have a good walk able neighborhood watering hole.

The Kingsbury Building in Shaker...
Thanks! The Police Station ads a sense of security and im no stranger to noise. Im currently in Mayfield Heights by Som and Mayfield ROad so if there isnt rush hour traffic keeping me awake from 271, then its either an ambulance or helicopter flying to Hillcrest!

The Kingsbury Building in Shaker...
So iv narrowed down my apartment search and i'v fallen in love with The Kingsbury Building at the corner of Lee and Van Aken. I'm trying to do some research on the rental company that rents the out, Circle Group LLC, to check out reviews and whatnot but i'm falling short. Theres only one review and its somewhat negative(though a lot of the issues are just the fact that its an older building). Has anyone possibly rented with the company or in the building itself or know someone who has? I'm touring it again tomorrow before I drop the deposit and just want to know if I should run for the hills or rent it. Its a lovely building and I love the history surrounding it and I'm also excited about having the Blue Line run right next door.
