Cincinnati: Evanston: Development and News
Holy WOW - I own a two-family that I live in at Fairfax and Hackberry (Just out of view) - this is mind-blowing. I bought this place for 42k last year and have walked by that empty lot always wondering when it would have its day. There are a few beautiful homes just across the street and a little north. There are about 6 vacant four-square type homes within the vicinity that should be ripe for fixing up too. I recently saw that all the dilapidated brick homes across from the TownProperty apartments are opened up and appear to be being worked on for single family or multi-family rental - its hard to tell. I'm still not convinced this project will happen - at least quickly. I will keep close tabs on this.

mattdeininger replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionNotice to addresses within, I think, 200 ft get notice by mail about a project. If not, you can request plans from the Urban Conservator [email protected] - I've attached the schedule through the end of the year. I'm thinking about starting a new thread dedicated to debating proposed new construction OTR as it comes through the HCB process, good idea? I think it should be different than this thread as it will pertain to defined projects with known time lines vs hypothetical conversation.

Cincinnati: Downtown: 1010 On The Rhine / Downtown Kroger
That seemed like they just wanted to say *grocery* to get headlines. The much bigger component of that project is office space, and that is what would determine the financial feasibility of it moving forward. From what I recall they actually purchased the land. I've heard rumors they want to put a Walgreens there. They're partnering with Anchor Development who exclusively builds Walgreens stores.
