  1. A Jw would be really nice. I would think whoever develops it would not tear down the building that is already there. Especially if it’ll save them a few millions dollars. A hotel/apartments would be really nice. Heck maybe even western and southern could move their headquarters there.
  2. http://reztark.com/en/portfolio-item/fifty-fifth/ Just happened to be in their website and stumbled across this.
  3. It's going basically in the Crossroads parking lot, fronting Madison. So, basically a continuation of the suburban crap behind it. As disappointing as this whole area is, I will say it was at least nice to see some construction there when I was back in Cincy a couple weeks ago. I hadn't been back in quite some time, and I was surprised to see how little construction was going on (outside of the roads/highways) in the city. I guess I had assumed that a lot of the projects that had been announced a while back would have at least begun construction, but outside of this part of Oakley and pockets of OTR, I really didn't see much happening. Madisonville is seeing a lot of development with Medpace, the red apartments and the new apartments in “downtown Madisonville”. CUF is also seeing a lot of development around UC and the giant hospital expansion. Soon they will “hopefully” start on the innovation corridor.
  4. I think a hotel/apartment combo would work really well. Hopefully it will not be anything less than 20 floors.
  5. Palominos will be closing at the end of October. Stated it was due to leasing issues. Does anyone think that the owner is forcing everyone out so they can get the building redeveloped?
  6. Drove by today. The old bank has been demolished. There is a banner on the fencing around the site showing the project rendering. My guess it this will get built.
  7. Wonder if they will also do something with the lot to the west of it.
  8. Was that people who actually paid for it? I was on it and it was packed most of the evening.
  9. Provident bank building redevelopment?
  10. https://www.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/news/2018/09/10/28-million-downtown-apartment-tower-takes-step.html Wish I could read it.
  11. Rode the streetcar from OTR down to Fountain Square last night. It was packed, only reason we did not get off at the Banks was due to traffic but that was to be expected. Rode it from the Banks back to OTR. Was a smooth ride with no delays and was packed. Felt like I was back in New York. I think the streetcar is essential to this city and needs to be expanded to be 100% effective.
  12. Does anyone know what is going on next to The Red apartments? They have a hole dug between the apartments and Red Bank.
  13. My first ever apartment was in the one on East McMillan in Mt. Auburn.Loved that place.
  14. Did you happen to get any of the apartments by deaconess?
  15. https://www.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/news/2018/07/25/donato-s-closes-downtown-will-new-apartments.html Wish I could view the whole story.
  16. Something that I did not really realize till now but is there any reason why we have not seen any hotel developments in OTR/West End? I think the old Kroger site would be great for apartments/hotel
  17. It will and I do not think that the stadium will have to have something going on all year around for there to be a lot of traffic. As long as some new bars pop up around the stadium people will bar hop from those to Queen City or vice versa.
  18. My guess would be people who hardly go to OTR and the West End. Wish it could be built before Blink next year. I bet they could have done some awesome interactive thing at the stadium.
  19. Well, I do find it odd that Cincinnati's urban core doesn't have more gays bars. However I think calling it a "tragedy" and "ridiculous" is a bit over the top. I think if there was the demand for more gay bars in the urban core, they would exist. There are some gay bars in other Cincinnati neighborhoods besides Downtown & OTR. Maybe the LGBTQ population in Cincinnati prefers to hang out in ordinary bars and clubs as compared to other cities. Honestly I have no idea, I'm just speculating. Honestly the long line at Goodfella's was probably due to the fact that there were many people downtown that don't typically come downtown, who had heard about some place called Goodfella's, and didn't have much of a desire to search out anything new or different. There's another pizza place a block away, Lucy Blue, and I bet they didn't also have a long line out the door. There's also Gomez, The Royal, MOTR, Nation, Che.... plenty of places within a one or two block walk serving food late on weekends. I think a bunch of people just wanted Goodfella's and were willing to wait despite the fact that there were other options nearby with shorter lines. In my opinion you are correct about lgbt going to other bars and not just gay ones. As a gay guy myself I actually prefer to go to Regular bars. Many bars in Cincinnati are actually very gay friendly such as QCR which is hosting a tea party tonight and QCE which has gay dances once a month. I think if there was to be another gay bar that it would Work best in OTR/Pendleton. It may even work if it was a theme type bar such as coyote ugly themed ( I was in one in Hell’s Kitchen NYC and it was pretty fun).
  20. I remember when I went to UC they had a shuttle that went to newport on the levee but am not sure if it stopped in OTR. Do they have any shuttles that do go to OTR? That would prolly help with bringing more students down. I feel like the hill between OTR and UC creates a separation between the two areas.
  21. http://glaserworks.com/portfolio-item/one-river-plaza/ Would love to see this come to fruition. Highly doubt it though.
  22. Where are they talking? I am not seeing any parking lots to the west of City hall? Unless they are talking about the one across the street from Burke.
  23. It’s like people don’t realize that OTR used to be one of the worst neighborhoods in the country. If you looked at OTR even 10 years ago it is way different now. I love OTR and think it’s now one of the best neighborhoods in the country. I try to go down as much as I can. If she wants to go back to Texas then let her. We need people who believe in this neighborhood and this city, not Debby Downers.
  24. There’s the spot in Rookwood where the W.G restaurant was. That could be a decent location even though I would prefer it be in OtR. Not sure how Walburgers would fair to it if they had one opening downtown.
