Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
That's a great idea regarding a Convention Center expansion that also involves the proposed land bridge. My IDEA that I've been working on for a while now is for a combination of a LAND BRIDGE and CONVENTION CENTER EXPANSION.That would provide a landscaped NEW MALL D area which is approximately 400 feet wide and approximately 450-500 feet long that would also accommodate extra meeting rooms and more exhibition space. It would provide a 20-27 foot clearance underneath for double stacked trains. And if it keeps the same elevation as the existing Mall C and Convention Center it would provide plenty of room underneath for a New Multi Modal Transportation Center as KJP has suggested in the past as well as the existing Shoreway. And it would also provide plenty of room underneath near the Science Center and the newly ADDED DOME Browns Stadium for retail, maybe a hotel, connections to both facilities, and elevators and stairs to the ground level plaza. And as a ADDED BONUS if the BROWNS STADIUM has a DOME added to it and it's directly connected to the expanded Convention Center then it's floor/field area could be included in the total amount of exhibition space. As other cities do like INDIANAPOLIS. EDIT: I know that adding an additional 100,000+ sq. ft. of exhibition space and meeting rooms will be an expensive long teem project. But by added a Land Bridge it will totally change the look, access and usefulness of the CLEVELAND LAKEFRONT!! And it will help to ensure the success of both Pace's New Lakefront Development and any new plans for BROWNS FIRST ENERGY STADIUM too!

Cleveland: Downtown: nuCLEus
Cross posted from SHW HQ TOPIC: John D. Baumgardner Posted 9 hours ago Here's a juicy tidbit for fellow forum denizens to sink your teeth into ... I just had quite an enjoyable luncheon with an old friend and former business associate. This friend owns a very successful business operation in downtown and he is personally acquainted with Mr. Stark ... You know, the guy behind the ever elusive and the yet to materialize nuCLEus development. According to my friend's understanding of the forthcoming Sherwin-Williams headquarters, he shared with me that S/W will be placing their NEW HEADQUARTERS at the nuCLEus project. Yes, you heard me right. This friend of mine is a prominent and well-respected businessman who is socially and professionally connected to the major MOVERS & SHAKERS in the Cleveland business community ... Everyone from Beth Mooney at Key Bank to upper mgmt at Sherwin-Williams. Could this be the REAL REASON that nuCLEus has been tabled indefinitely? This will be very interesting to see ... As @KJP has pointed out, Stark doesn't have much experience with digging caissons into Cleveland's bedrock for super tall skyscrapers ... But, with a heavy hitter goliath like Sherwin-Williams behind-the-scenes a project like nuCLEus could actually still happen in the form of a striking new headquarters for S-W Corporation. Just something to chew on, let the gnashing of teeth begin .... MAYBE HE'S TRYING TO BE FUNNY?? But if TRUE there is more than enough room to build both a SHW HQ TOWER and a nuCLEus Residental Tower.

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
Good question, what's the size of Jacob's lot and nuCLEus lots? And is there enough space for a large SHW HQ tower and a apartment tower including parking and a CLEVELAND LIVE entertainment complex on the nuCLEus lots?

Cleveland: Downtown: Cleveland Athletic Club Redevelopment
To be fair it took a year or so just to remove all the trash, debris, mold, water damage, and to replace the roof so that they could begin the total rehab of the building. The building was vacate without heat for about ten years and had massive water damage and was vandalized too. And it went thru several developers before the existing partnership took over the project in about 2016.

A walkway under Superior is very unlikely because of the massive amounts of utilities like electric, fiber optics, water mains, sewer mains ect. under Superior Avenue. Unless they go really deep like City of Cleveland had to do when they built the pedestrian tunnel under Lakeside Avenue to connect the HILTON to the County Garage.

^The net absorbtion was negative because several firms has down sized their space requirements when renewing their leases. Vocon and similar firms redesign their client's office space by incorporating open space type of offices.

Thats another reason why it's so important to add new and renovated housing to as many Cleveland neighborhoods as possible! And besides increased safety, it also increase income taxes, property taxes, and jobs too! So that it will hopefully help all of neighborhoods by providing extra resources for police and other city services.

Cleveland: Downtown: The Avenue District
The nice thing about this project is that it improves the streetscape on East 12th Street and blocks the view of the parking lot! How many units in the original Avenue Tower?

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
To ensure that they are not landlocked in the future to provide for future growth SHW should build the main HQ at Jacobs lot and then buy the large West 3rd and Superior parking lot to provide plenty of room for growth and space for a combo garage/research center building too!

Cleveland: Downtown: The Avenue District
It will be great to have more condos FOR SALE in Downtown Cleveland. And it will help to grow and stabilize the area since condo owners usually have a more long term outlook and hopefully be more involved in the neighborhood too.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
This is really good news that this location will NOT be empty too long and that another quality restaurant will take Jack Flaps place! And this part of Lorain Avenue is really growing into a nice neighborhood, much better than it was back in the '60s & '70s!

True it maybe just a shoe store, but at least it will not be a empty boarded up store anymore! And it will also provide some employment and added taxes too.

Cleveland: Random Development and News
The reason the two firms is involved with the Walz Branch is because the library requires inclusiveness of minorities and women runned firms. From the Cleveland.com article: Of the five recommended, one is woman-owned, one is minority-owned, and the other three teams include minority design partners that will support the architectural design of the branches, the library said in its news release.

Nice pic! But shouldn't it be shown behind the 200 P.S. building and only visible if it's taller?

Cleveland: Downtown: The Centennial (925 Euclid Redevelopment)
Nice that they have already got a extension of the deadline to start construction in relation to the Ohio historic tax-credit program: The Ohio Development Services Agency, which oversees the historic tax-credit program, had warned Hudson that the state might rescind the award if the company didn't show that the 925 revamp had some momentum. A department spokeswoman said officials recently met with the project team and extended the deadline to start construction to Sept. 1, 2019. http://realestate.cleveland.com/realestate-news/2018/05/millennia_buys_downtown_clevel.html
