Cleveland: Downtown: Skyline 776 (City Club Apartments)
I didn't realize how much of City Club was visible from the Prospect side. Nice. Every little improvement in viewing pleasure makes our city look better and better.

Cleveland: Immigration News & Discussion
Please thank her for me. Not only is she helping those poor people land on their feet as the war in Ukraine is so troubling but at the same time she's helping to re-populate Cleveland. And those of us on this forum get a little inside info on what is happening with immigration to our town. But l'm sure that's not why you married her, although l know how you journalists value your sources lol.

Cleveland: Natural History Museum Renovation and Expansion
Very cool look. We need more of that around town.

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
Might be adding a few balconies to that second floor view.

^ Exactly

Cleveland: Population Trends
Do we really have a glut of vacant homes that are move in ready or do we have vacant homes that are closer to being torn down rather than salvageable?

Canal Basin Park and Lake Link Trail
^ Not counting on that. I just hope it's done before the end of time.

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
That view really helps flesh out the skyline running east to west.

Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
Love having the practice facility come back downtown. Hated when they moved to Independence. I think they did it to placate LeBron but I really don't know. And then condos? Anything for more owner occuppied housing and if it helps the cavs sign more free agents all the better.

God there just is no traffic on our streets downtown. Tell me again why we need parking lots?

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
You know it hadn't occurred to me that opening the underside of the bridge to people would make for a nice connection between the new park on its western edge and the planned riverfront park on the eastern edge. Could we be so lucky?

^ Because in a city struggling to grow its population, when we accidentally create something that is extraordinarily popular the right thing to do is shut it down?

Cleveland: Union Terminal (Tower City)
In a perfect world Tower City would be the rail hub for an expanded RTA, an expanded Amtrac and a terminus for CVSR. Not only would that be great for train lovers it would be great for Tower City and the rest of downtown too. The only question is how to pull that off? Can we secure the funding? Do we have enough political will to do this? Even if the answer to those questions is "Yes" it will still be difficult to untie a Gourdian knot that doesn't exist. Securing the funds to piece together the necessary rights of way for all those trains will be difficult but certainly not impossible. I'm sure l won't see it in my lifetime but man, if we can pull it off it will be like going back to the future. Back to a time when trains were an important part of not just getting around but actually enjoying getting around. What a concept.

Cleveland: Tremont: Development and News
I love the steady building downtown but another thing that always puts a smile on my face is when I'm doing my little drive around to see what's new and I come across a single infill home on an old street in the near West Side. People putting their money where their mouth is.

Cleveland: Downtown: Ten60 Bolivar Apartments
Well now. The Geis site was the most obvious to get built first but if that's not it we may have another something to chew on.
-
Cleveland: Downtown: Ten60 Bolivar Apartments
Is it just me or does the area around Bolivar have great potential to create a brand new neighborhood? Right now there isn't much there, some very nondescript structures as well as a bunch of parking lots that don't appear to get a lot of action. This complex could singlehandedly kick-start residential development and because there isn't much high value usage there the land may come cheap.

Cleveland: Union Terminal (Tower City)
I think all of us rail fans on this forum pine for the days of passenger trains using the old Terminal Tower for what it was originally built for. I know that is probably wishful thinking but man if what Ken is writing about were to come true we would all be ecstatic.

Ah...Ken Quixote fighting the good fight.

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
Other than sports it seems much of the activity/street life downtown is trying to generate is a chicken or egg thing. I can remember quite a few cool little shops not just in downtown but also in certain urban neighborhoods. Anyone remember there was an upscale clothing storefront when E. 4th first opened? Didn't last long. Most open and close due to lack of foot traffic. No customers. On the other hand people will say there isn't a good reason to stroll because there aren't any little stores or places to stop in. I'm not comparing Cleveland to Nantucket but one of the reasons l love walking around there is the great stores you walk by. So which comes first; customers or shops, shops or customers? Both?

^ Ignorance.

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
Well l for one definitely wanted R&D in the same block at least. If not that then in the nearby Flats. But holy crap if it came to almost losing SHW...that would just have been too depressing. Yikes!

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
^ At this point l don't think we're in any danger of downtown becoming a 24/7 place. Let's worry about spreading the wealth when we are a little wealthier.

Cleveland: Downtown Parks & Public Spaces - Development/Construction
Maybe it's that people are a lot stupider today.

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
On an optimistic note, the Kennect project falling through will give another developer a chance to come up with something better which won't be all that hard considering how ugly Kennect was. Fingers crossed.

Cleveland: Downtown: Skyline 776 (City Club Apartments)
Looking good. All we need are another 25 - 30 high rises and we can take a little rest.
