  1. This doofus will go down in history as the most dangerous and most destructive president in our history. It's astonishing to me that he got elected. It tells me that the only person more unpopular is anyone running as a Democrat. We can't get any lower than where we are. Or can we?
  2. Yes, l agree. The approach seems focused and professional. It does bode well for future endeavors. While l highly doubt this attempt will result in a NASA hq. ending up in NEO because when compared to other locations the hurdles are too high. What's more, l also doubt a relocation on any level will happen. I see the idea as just another in a long line of Trump speak which is mostly nonsense.
  3. Yes, that lS a lot of land and sure, removing the stadium gives us a blank slate. Everything you would need except for one little detail. Where does the money come from? In order to develop all of that land we are going to need a boatload of cash, not to mention a developer/leadership. Both are in short supply here. That's another reason l want the Browns to stay on the lakefront. Besides just keeping growth in (downtown) rather than out (BP) building a new stadium comes with a developer (Haslam) who will then work and invest in the surrounding area. Look, l'm no fan of Jimmy but if he were to stay downtown, build a stadium and develop around it he'll be my new favorite. Billionaires are a necessary evil. Without one we probably have very little development of a significant nature taking place on the lakefront for god knows how long. We have a very long list of needs in the city and very short pockets.
  4. It's a train. My unscientific opinion is everyone loves to ride the train. So it's a sort of "lf you build it people will ride it." It's not more complicated than that. Everything else is just details. Figure it out.
  5. Seems like a nice addition to the neighborhood both in appearance and function.
  6. I must be reading this wrong. AG Yost an l are never on the same page. Not siding with HSG blows my mind.
  7. The ballpark had always been great until they added those clunky boxes in right field. Took care of those last year and, on paper at least, the work being done now will only add to the place. I think it's a real gem for the city. Those saying otherwise...well l would bet they haven't seen the work being done and if they were honest, one visit would bring them around. We have a lot of letdowns with our developnent around these parts but the ballpark is not one of them. We're fortunate to have it.
  8. Yes, that cool old building surely added to the vibe of Penisula. I hope when it's rebuilt the new design can somehow fit in.
  9. Signed up yesterday for weekly summer CSA food program. Looking forward to supporting local food producers instead of Giant Eagle.
  10. Well that is an impressive list. Thank you!
  11. Not to mention all of the voters purged as red states look to solidify their power. All things being equal IF every one who wanted to vote did there would be very different outcomes nationally. Republican's who control the state voting mechanism know this. Hence, their efforts to limit voting access. Voter supression is real despite their denials.
  12. It does seem like NEO has been losing a lot more jobs lately than new jobs being announced. JoAnn Fabrics hq is a big number plus smaller closures. There are headwinds nationally too when you add the Doge cuts along with what appears to be cautious consumer sentiment. Trump may be in a little trouble going forward.
  13. At face value, this seems like a no-brainer development for the community.
  14. I am hopeful that Dolan will be a more effective business advocate than previous leaders. We certainly need it.
  15. Yes, and that's one reason it reminds me of some of the great old medical institutions in the East. I interviewed at Mass General once. My office would have had a great view of Cambridge and the Charles River. The entire campus was very tight, organic. I loved it. Turned down the offer when l asked my potential boss where she lived. She said waaaay outside Boston because she couldn't afford the city. After thinking about it l decided a great house in Shaker and my job at the Clinic still beat Boston. Anyhow, the way UH is tucked into Case and the rest of University Circle reminds me why l prefer its design to the Clinic. The Clinic is sunbelt while UH is East Coast.
  16. You know what, if you blow up that picture it's really amazing the difference the footprint is between the Clinic and UH. Of course l know the Clinic is larger but until l saw that pic l didn't realize how small UH is compared to the Clinic.
  17. These articles tell me Jimmy is calling in his chits. He's donated to various people/organizations over the years. And like the godfather, he's making that call.
  18. This from the guy behind the Clinic's sterile campus. Sure. He knows all about creating a cool environment for people to hang out in.
  19. Ok! Anything involving light rail and l'm in.
  20. I wasn't really commenting on the cut through as l don't feel strongly one way or another about it. The comment was more about people and ideas in general and my lame attempt at some kind of humor.
  21. Sure. It's been my experience that people are opposed to ideas in general.
  22. Yeah, they should call Progressive and ask them how to do it lol.
  23. Sounds like a really promising addition to downtown in a location that should be more popular. And it's just different enough to succeed. The outdoor seating on Euclid is a big plus too!
  24. It does seem like sort of a mixed bag. There is some clarification that US Steel will be under Cliffs and not the other way around which is how l read his earlier statement. He'll maintain his home here and just be in Pittsburgh part time. I guess we'll have to wait and see. He reminds me a little of Trump. A lot of words all over the place so you never really know what he's thinking. That, combined with the always potential changes in the business world tells us we can't really count on anything anymore. Such is life.
