When l click on the logo l get a message the server is suspended. Bit l have been able to find some forums and see people are adding comments so l know it's working somehow. I used to click on chrome/urbanohio/then topics. Now it just says server suspended. How do l find the new server?

Cleveland: Crime & Safety Discussion
Sure. I know how it started and how it ended. The majority were there for the right reasons and just as surely they were followed by those who ONLY wanted to stir it up. Same as it everwas.

Cleveland: Port Authority News & Info
Thank you so much for the article Ken. My two favorite forms of transportation are rail and shipping. We are very fortunate to have a port. Columbus doesn't. Bulk commodities are one thing but if we can further develop container shiping we'll be on our way. We need to lobby for a widening of the St. Lawrence locks lol. Just curious but l think declining Friedman's salary bump is a big mistake. He did nothing but produce. Not sure his replacement will be as successful.

Cleveland: Crime & Safety Discussion
Reality. Gets in the way of rose colored glasses. I love my city and cities in general but even l have to admit crime and what seems to be often overwhelming social issues can have a major impact. Watching video of the downtown Cleveland riot a few years ago devastated me. And when l see this forum with a new comment my first thought is "Do l want to see what happened?" I know l sometimes live in a dream world where all people are good and there is social harmony and then sh*t happens. It can be very discouraging.

Brook Park: New Cleveland Browns Stadium
Of course l agree that getting the money from the taxpayers for a dome plus the road construction is going to be a very hard sell. In fact l don't see it happening. I've said that from the beginning. And tl think all the videos given to the media are nothing more than Jimmy negotiating. He's using the media to get to the politicians/public. I think it's nothing more than a type of negotiation. It's Plan A. If that doesn't work there's Plan B and Plan C. The only thing l can't figure out is which plan is staying on the lakefront and which plan is moving the team?

Cleveland: Random Development and News
Hate to say it because it's the family George but l'm interested to see how his Flat's project turns out. It looks very promising on paper. That, plus the Rose building and saving the Rhodes tower all make this version of the tax credits very positive for the region. I can't see any downside to increasing the credits as well as the tax credit for the film industry. The credits promote growth/projects and are often the difference between something and nothing. As far as l'm concerned the more the merrier.

Brook Park: New Cleveland Browns Stadium
I think Jimmy's plan (hope) is to get public funding for half of the 2.4 billion dome. He's thinking the original plan on the lakefront was for a 1.2 billion stadium split between him and the taxpayers. So 600 million for him. BUT he thinks if he can get everyone on board with the dome it only costs him another 600 million but he controls all that parking plus any extra events he can get. He knows he's not going to build all the ancillary stuff - he just put it out there to sell the idea. Sort of a bait and switch. Unless he has an under the table agreement with Columbus and he thinks when it's announced it will bring the local pols on board, he's not getting this done. 1.2 billion is A LOT of public money for the state snd region. I still think all of this on his end is a version of negotiating. If he can't get a buyin from the politicians then he's either going to go back to the lakefront or move the team. If not Columbus or elsewhere in the US maybe he'll be the team in Europe the NFL wants. Still a lot to transpire before we know the final outcome.

Cleveland: Downtown: Rockefeller Building Rehab-Additions
It just seems odd to me that such a large building in a prominent location is left to the elements, both people and weather. Doesn't it seem logical that whoever owns it would have spent a few bucks to seal it up until it can be sold or they repurpose it themselves? What is the point of letting the homeless squat or the weather to take its toll? Is this by design? Is it ignorance or incompetence? What am l not seeing here?

Jimmy getting all his ducks in a row. Everything except the financing. Maybe he knows something we don't.

Ohio: General Business & Economic News
I can't speak to UH's national ranking but l'm not at all surprised it topped the Clinic by a lot. When l worked in research at the Clinic l was aware of several people who left for a similiar position at UH. I spoke with two of them and heard through the grapevine that all of them had salary increases and all of them said the work environment was less toxic. They were all happier for the move. People saying its just a more collegial environment. Like any workplace there is going to be good and bad. There is much to like about the Clinic. If nothing else its size does present opportunity. But that size also creates an environment that feels like a machine. I'm aware of conversations where issues about ways to improve things were brought up with management and getting shut down. Basically my way or the highway response.

Cleveland: East Side Neighborhood Development
This is a great idea and as the councilman said "a win win." The city gets much needed new housing and a new manufacturer at the time. Lot's of lots for infill.

Brook Park: New Cleveland Browns Stadium
Jimmy is still trying to work his magic except we still don't know where all that money will come from. I'm betting nowhere. It kills me that crooks and charlatans like Trump and Haslam can rise to the highest levels of power. I guess slickness does pay.

Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
If the Browns are asking me what l want in a new dome my preference is for an open air dome which would look like a stadium without a top. And this open air dome with a Brook Park address would be built on the site of the existing stadium. I think this is the answer to our problems. We save over a billion dollars by building a dome without a top. Brookpark gets to say they have a domed stadium while Cleveland gets the actual facility on the lakefront. I think this is a good compromise. A win win if you will.

^ l think l see the answer to the problem here. They've owned the property for 200 years. They're very secretive, and don't respond when contacted. Maybe they're dead.
