  1. I don't have access to this article, but The Dispatch's article makes it sound like the Skyview Club is a new seating area, and I assume this article does the same. It is not a new seating area. The club space will be new, but they are kicking hundreds of season ticket holders out of their current seats (unless they are able to pay 4x as much as they do today for the same seats).
  2. The retail/lobby/fitness spaces fronting Broad and State are double height. The parking takes up 2 floors.
  3. The full proposal is on the city permit portal, under planning record COA2500283. It shows a pedestrian plaza that doubles as an emergency access road.
  4. From the materials they submitted to the City (COA2500184 on the permit portal):
  5. One thing to note is that Honest Friend is going into the Topper building, not the building adjacent to the SR 104 ramp that is labeled Honest Friend in the map.
  6. The Day Companies wanted to tear down the shorter building. When Edwards took the project over, they managed to keep it.
  7. That's a senior capstone project. It's not a project ODOT is pursuing (to my knowledge).
  8. Last I saw, they're still waiting for the custom bridge railings. Must have been unexpected delays in fabrication.
  9. The approved site plan shows a triangle of land reserved for the City's project. What that actually looks like, I haven't seen yet. It definitely would have been a lot cleaner if the City had been able to buy this property to properly realign the intersection.
  10. No it's not. The current terminal is 4600 International Gateway, it's not getting demoed for 4 or more years, it's taller than 1 story, and it's more than 95,000 square feet. My guess is this permit was to demo the covered parking structures in the Blue lot, which looked to be around that square footage.
  11. Drive thru restaurants are not a permitted use under the new zoning...so unless there is an existing drive thru restaurant (there isn't), they should not be able to open a new one (without getting a zoning variance).
  12. There's two international gates, only one can accommodate up to a 747-400. They're both connected to the "sterile corridor" (circled in red) which goes down to the international baggage claim and customs processing facility. The plans also show two airline lounges, a Delta Sky Club and American Admirals Club. The Delta lounge is probably twice the size of the American lounge.
  13. I'm not sure how exactly they enforce this, but I thought the parking lot was supposed to be limited to 5 years. From the council variance: WHEREAS, the City Departments recommend approval because this request will not add an incompatible use to the area. The requested variance will permit a non-accessory surface parking lot that will be utilized by businesses in the area while filling a void that was caused by the removal of the previous parking garage. The parking lot will be limited to a five year period, during which time the owner will determine their long-term development plans for this site; and ... The council variance was passed in August of 2018, so it's been over 6 years now.
  14. I'm seeing 92 apartments (of 105) available on their website... https://www.prestoncentrecolumbus.com/interactivepropertymap
  15. As far as I know, the City's realignment project isn't currently planning to use the entire parcel. A Take 5 Oil change was proposed and received variances for the site, and they agreed to dedicate additional right-of-way for the City's project. It looks like the Take 5 last submitted a site plan in April of 2024. I'm not sure if it's moving forward now or what; my understanding is the building was finally demolished because the property was becoming a nuisance, and not necessarily because they are ready to move forward with the Take 5 oil change. It's not entirely clear how long they have to build the Take 5 oil change before their 'grandfathering' status would expire. An oil change facility is not a permitted use under the new mixed-use zoning that was passed as part of Zone In.
  16. There is a traffic signal going in at McDowell and Broad this year, I'm guessing all of the sidewalk work in front of Gravity 2 will be done as part of that work.
  17. The article you quoted says 13 stories - one podium level made of concrete topped by 12 of wood.
  18. Those are part of the fountain. They aren't new.
  19. If you're referring to the vertical metal beams, those are supports for shade canopies (to the upper right of the fountain). If you're referring to the "halo" rings, those are part of the fountain.
  20. UCR - Urban Core (12 story max, 16 story w/ affordable housing bonus) UCR-R - Urban Core Restricted (same height limits/etc, certain commercial uses are not permitted) UCT - Urban Center (5 story max, 7 story w/ affordable housing bonus) UGN-1 - Urban General 1 (4 story max) UGN-2 - Urban General 2 (4 story max, 5' min setback required) CAC - Community Activity Center (5 story max, 7 story w/ affordable housing bonus, 10' min setback required) RAC - Regional Activity Center (7 story max, 10 story w/ affordable housing bonus, 10' min setback required) There are other distinctions between the zones beyond height and minimum setbacks, which are laid out in the full zoning text.
  21. The full proposal is available on the City's legislation website: https://columbus.legistar.com/LegislationDetail.aspx?ID=6611618&GUID=FF3EADAA-A22E-4836-89D7-6DF240E3B72C
  22. The parking lots at Great Southern are so needlessly large that they could probably build hundreds (if not thousands) of apartments just in the unused parking lots. Add in the Walmart land and that's even more space for apartments.
  23. Sounds like they want it to be similar to the Indianapolis Cultural Trail, which is primarily along roadways. random snippet from google street view:
  24. Current progress at 100 N High, Madison/White-Haines, and the French Bistro on the corner:
  25. The protective wall in front of the seafood restaurant going in on the corner has started to come down...
