Cleveland: Random Development and News
I saw an article stating that Swagelok is expanding their HQ. I never knew they were mainly in solon, but were they ever HQ'd in Cleveland at a time? https://www.news5cleveland.com/news/local-news/oh-cuyahoga/global-manufacturer-swagelok-company-expanding-its-roots-in-northeast-ohio-with-new-headquarters?fbclid=IwAR2U-U1-bV46oJgw6Qr-ZBtLfvNI5W3ZEDGCwEEwm8JnouEzKRFigHqlINQ

Many people have been quoting me on taking the leap on moving elsewhere, saying its a major unknown, and a big deal breaker. A move like this would be the equivalent to digging for pocket change. I applaud you all for finding insides on CFOs and CEOs of the company, but i never knew my quote was directly related to the shareholders as well. If they tank stock price for this deal because they move, they're probably going to regret even thinking of moving. In due time I still have my insides on the financial division, so I could possibly ask him how the shareholders are feeling about this. But I'm also not sure if he's even under that spectrum.

Cleveland: Ohio City: INTRO (Market Square / Harbor Bay Development)
However I agree that it was wrongful of the city to push this project back even though they gave them well sought out TIF and financing options, I'm not going to attack the city or its leadership because of it. With the last real instance for adding brand new office space being Ernst & Young; yes was a fast selling point but should you test the waters once more from a build that happened 6 almost 7 years ago? I like to believe that we're just finding reasons to retain our population right now. I'm not saying we're not making any progress, because there's definitely demand for development downtown, but not so much elsewhere. We're just trying more ways to be centralized. We are a boom town, but the amount of development we've had in the past 6 years has been super fast paced, which outranks developments within Columbus, Pittsburgh, and Cincinnati. And in the words of too much of a good thing could become a bad thing, maybe it is time to slow down. But I do hope they atleast phase the development, wait to accrue money from the existing tenants, and directly finance the office space. I don't understand why many companies don't do this in the first place. Instead of going for the gusto and failing, you could potentially build a new empire from a happy little accident.

my guy works in their financial division, so he oversees all the books. If he sees something out of the ordinary he will definitely get back to me.

Best not to move from your roots, you already have qualified and technical staff trained for the job, but if you move it's just a major shortfall on the budget rehiring, retraining, and basically 'Hard resetting' the business. I don't think their investors would be too happy to hear they're having some money and talent troubles every proceeding quarter. In my eyes and my financial buddy, there's no feasible way. Everyone looks at Amazon as a model when they chose their HQ2 (which we all know how that deal went down lol) but they didn't move their entire operation. They have their core entity making money, taking orders, and continually serve the public; All while HQ2 would theoretically be built and staffed basically as a brand-new large-scale startup company. Which I'm sure there's gotta be alot of hiccups even for this type of a plan. But everyone, INCLUDING major Cleveland news sources is making it sound like they're just going to pack up and leave. That's just absurd. Guys, for the last time... They're not going anywhere... It's financially unfeasible the amount of resources needed here and at the new HQ to hire and provide markups for an HQ you're not going to be employed at. They haven't told anyone to pack up shop yet, but the fact that no ordinary employee is just keeping their mouth super glued, I'm sure there would be major outrage and large employee outages from the start. Hell I'm sure we'd theoretically be seeing SW lay off many of it's employees just so they could move. But that's another large loss in your finances trying to come up with retirement and separation packages for each employee, personnel loss means net loss of your capital gains which is basically a bank overdraft scheme, and there's just too much to even talk about. There's no reason to move an entire operation when you're making money, let alone a copious amount of money. Cleveland is a very centralized location, which basically has everything you need door to door, and it would increase your community if they just built their R&D with the HQ right alongside. It just makes too much sense. Moral of the story is, I'm really getting tired of all of these attacks and all the nay-say-ers who are just jumping to conclusions. I don't want this thread getting locked because somebody has some really unrelateable news or theories. Stick to your sources, not your conspiracies. My best guess is that many people are just angry that there would be such a big media outcry, and that the mayor isn't responding to anything we have questions on. But here's the thing; if the mayor has nothing to say about it, there's probably legitimately nothing wrong happening. Ever hear if there's no news it's probably good news that there is no news? That phrase is like bible study in the military. PLEASE CALM DOWN

- Cleveland: Downtown: The Lumen
Some world class signage maybe? Also maybe a dazzling twinkle effect at the top?- Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
There wasn't anything ruling these plans out, according to many sources they haven't deviated from the original concept, with holding cells and a courthouse right underneath turf.- Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
The reason why the new Raiders stadium costs so much is because Vegas wouldn't allow them to build a new stadium unless they built a prison underneath. Yet the stadium isn't supposed to be any more special than FES. So it took a while with the drafts and eventually the excavating just puts the icing on the cake as it's been under construction for just about 3 going on 4 years. An entirely subterranean prison, underneath the Raiders stadium.- Cleveland: Cleveland State University: Development and News

nope, a couple of my buddies back home are in the baseball program.- Cleveland: Cleveland State University: Development and News
Unfortunately yes they do- Cleveland: Cleveland State University: Development and News
So, I went ahead and did nearby stadiums, including Ohio Stadium which is way too big. I used the measure tool on google maps, and followed each stadium boundary very closely even including connecting buildings directly related to each stadium. This is where Nippert stadium got a bit tricky to do, because they have the rec center and the basketball/events center right by it but i didn't include those. For the most part, every college level football stadium that is not D1 in Ohio can fit in Krenzler Field. Here are some of the numbers. Stadium sq ft CSU KRENZLER FIELD: 390,396.10 sq ft UA (INFOCISION) STADIUM: 318,328.59 sq ft UC NIPPERT STADIUM: 313,648.55 sq ft OSU OHIO STADIUM: 534,428 sq ft W/O end seating 438,212.23 sq ft UT GLASSBOWL STADIUM: 276,331.46 sq ft CWRU DISANTO FIELD: 243,941.81 sq ft- Cleveland: Cleveland State University: Development and News
Whenever I was back home, I actually took measurements of every nearby college level football stadium. Believe it or not, Toledo's Glassbowl, and Akron's stadium would fit in perfectly. I'm gonna try to find it, if not I have no problem doing it again. The only problem is where the tennis courts and softball/baseball flats will go.- Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
Please post the interview here once it's aired, sadly I don't live in Cleveland anymore, but i do care about it as it is my home.- Cleveland: Cleveland State University: Development and News
I'm all in favor for csu chipping in with Force Stadium. Could be a double ownership with community use when no games are happening like in most college stadiums. Open for the public, but for gametime... it's primetime.- Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
Why is every news station just feeding lie after lie about this deal. I've seen nothing but news on SW saying they're leaving for good... It's actually pissing me off, because any idiotbox news channel has a way to make things sound way worse than things are, and its every single one of them. This makes things a whole lot harder. Now I sort of understand why they were so tight lipped about it, but I do know for a fact that they're not looking anywhere else but Cleveland. They're just jealous about the whole Amazon deal, but like it or not whatever the city would do to call their bluff, they're staying for good. There wasn't any reason for Progressive to leave, so why should SW. They're not capable of making a long distance move right after acquisition & merger of Valspar, it would take way more than 4 years to accumulate the amount of capital to pack up shop. Believe me, I have insiders in the financial division at SW. They're saying that a move would take away the majority of funding for the new buildings, and there's absolutely no reason to move. To absorb is one thing, but to absorb and move, now you're talking about money wasted you're not about to have. There's no place like home where property values are some of the lowest in the country, but with quite valuable space too. They picked a good city to start in, and it's the best in their interests to stay in. Why waste so much money. Edits: formatting issues- Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
I know they're going to stay in Cleveland, but because Cleveland dropped the Amazon package a few months back they're a bit jealous so they're threatening, but it's all in the head. Do not let these news articles get under your skin. They're literally this close to modeling.- Cleveland: MetroHealth Medical Center
Once those towers go, I was technically never born. Rip tasty.- Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
So after the press release, the CEO sent out another reminder email to all their employees to keep their mouths shut if they had any more info. One of my buddies in the financial dep. actually has no idea about any of the details, and everyone's just going apesh*t in their offices trying to figure this out. The only thing that he does say is that there is a new building involved, but he doesn't know where it is but i told him some addl' info so that way he can spread the word.- Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
This is where I bring this photo in, which was made years back. I kind of want to find this guy and give us an ultra realistic vision of Cleveland's skyline post lumen. I would love to see this amount of density.- Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
Yes it provides some pretty good views down east 9th towards the lake, but so does every building downtown.- Cleveland: Huntington Convention Center
There's alot of debate in Lakefront thread, and I want to keep it lakefront, because the malls and the convention center are completely separate. If you have anything to further the convention center, this is the place to do so. - Cleveland: Downtown: The Lumen
