  1. Back when a voice meant the world.
  2. I'm very dissapointed in you @bjk It's Wayne Gretsky Alltime best and top hall of Famer NHL player who played Old-Time Hockey in the 80's. @CLE_Millennial that's an older rendering. There's a newer rendering that was approved to be higher than the original plans that were under way. I would direct you to the Non-Ohio Development Detroit thread.
  3. I find this kind of ironic, and may be a little offtopic. I just find it hilarious and ironic that Google Maps decided to update development on the Beacon but has yet to retake aerials of public square. Its been what, 3 years now? As you can see here they're building the elevator core here, with the crane visible as a shadow on the garage. And here's public square 1.0 on present day Google Maps. It has the right outlines though. SMH.
  4. I'm kind of at a crossroads here, because when I search 720 Euclid Ave it shows up on the Prospect side, so is this a single parcel or not? If it is a single parcel this project could be way bigger than anticipated. CCA could encompass the garage like a cocoon if they wanted, and we may see new development on the prospect side of things as well. That's 86,000 square feet!!! So it would make sense that we could see Jacob's lot scale buildings.
  5. We may even see an acceleration with the Ohio Bill giving transformational tax credits if they decide to add a few entertainment/office mixed uses. Does CCA dip their hands in mixed use? If so this would be a great opportunity to build a slender yet extravagant scraper.

Saw this on facebook captioned: Newburgh Hts Speed Trap Just thought it was funny because no police presence means people will continue to speed... Money-grab smh.
  7. I think it could be something similar to Cleveland's Amazon bid, where nothing is relatively open to the public. You already have some inside info on it from top execs, and the person that says its off the record is just trying to cover their traces. I believe they want a building taller than key. They're a growing 500 company, with recent acquisitions. I'm 100% sure they will either use the prior Ameritrust design, or go for a cheese grater / fractal design like in London and Sanfransico. I can see those designs picking up popularity since the Middle East is finished with Burj Khalifa and in the process with Jeddah 'Kingdom' Tower. If they do need a building smaller than key, there's already a rendering showing a scaled back version of Ameritrust. What could have been may just be a reality.
  8. They probably should have specified that. The definition of a traffic circle is a roundabout on google. Not a planter. If anyone has attended the meeting could you elaborate?
  9. @Enginerd just a conventional roundabout. However it seems they're going way too overboard with them on their traffic pattern
  10. I was doing some tower looking online to see what towers would look good in this place from other cities, file this under fantasy. I took the 18 story Château Frontenac and amplified it a few stories giving it a more prominent figure in our skyline on the lot. By this theoretical height, the pinnacles just pass up Erieview at about 35-38 stories at 535'. I'm in love with historic buildings like this and I only wish we could build more historical-like, rather than building big single facade boxes. Does anyone know the kind of cost it would take to build more Beaux arts / Châteauesque - styled Highrises? Thanks @MayDay for the awesome shot including beacon.
  11. If you need a cure temp over 40 degrees, I'm sure Cleveland just wouldn't have concrete roads. Concrete is concrete, it just needs time to cure. It takes longer to cure in colder weather, so this is why they're giving just about a full week between pouring. @KJP
  12. Still better than blue or ugly mirror glass.
  13. No touchdown? I'm very disappointed.

    Cleveland- "No Vision, No Future".
  15. I'm sure you all know where this is. But if you don't, this is where the 9 is currently standing.
  16. I know, I'm talking about the darker stuff on the eastern side
  17. Is that the outer cladding?
  18. I know there's more to that, and it's definitely a useful source, thanks! But I wonder where people dig up old renderings. For instance I remember somebody on the Cleveland forum posting a rendering of a series of near identical highrises on the same street not too long ago. Some of the lesser known renderings are what I'm trying to dig up. Thanks @MayDay & @KJP.
  19. I don't see this as a prime space of land for tailgating unless its the muni-lot.
  20. Ehhh, I don't see a use for a bridge like that other than Cleveland has money to blow. I like this guy's response on Cleveland.com 's article. Let us not forget about this one too...
  21. Is there a website, database, or a public records report that could possibly give a collection of all proposed but never completed highrise projects in Cleveland? Anything including individual buildings in the Cleveland 2000 vision?
  22. @YABO713 You're talking about Mr. Divot's I believe which is in North Royalton. Dairy Queen on 130th and Sprague borders Middleburg and Royalton. I guess that gives Mr. Divots some mini golf competition, literally being a city line away. Not to mention most traffic comes from the east to go to Mr. Divots, so more than likely there will be a preference issue between the two.
  23. Any and possibly every big rust belt city. From Rochester, NY to St. Louis, MO.
  24. There we have it, Dairy Queen on Spreague Rd and W 130th is litterally 'putting' in a mini golf. Opening in 2019, the vacant plot facing W 130 is where construction is taking place.
  25. "Cleveland Connects" held a panel last night in collaboration with Louisville and Pittsburgh, to spread some experience and knowledge on becoming an emerging economic center. The panel was streamed on Ideastream from playhouse square. More information here, and of course the the stream. https://www.cleveland.com/metro/2018/10/cleveland-connects-panelists-from-louisville-and-pittsburgh-say-cooperation-focus-on-education-and-protecting-your-downtown-are-critical-to-growing-an-economy.html
