  3. WOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOO!
  4. thanks david, that was actually very very helpful!
  5. ^Firebombing his place of employment would be counterintuitive to what we promote here at Urban Ohio, especially since he works near a very well known landmark of Cincinnati. Maybe somebody rich could pay him to go for his lost wages? I want to go myself, but I am in a bit of a bind. About a month ago, I decided to take time off from school. At the moment I am job hunting. Hopefully I will have a job by the time the meet comes around, and then can go. But I am not making any promises. On that note, anyone know of any architectural firms in the Cincinnati area that are hiring? Jeremy
  6. Development Agreement Approved For The Banks Reported by: Tom McKee Email: [email protected] Reported by: Bill Price Contributor: Ian Preuth Last Update: 10:29 am Slideshow A Master Development Agreement has been approved by The Banks Working Group. The vote came Tuesday morning during a public meeting at Great American Ball Park. The next step is to have City Council and County Commissioners approve it. Officials are hoping this will be done before the November 6 elections. More at: http://www.wcpo.com/news/local/story.aspx?content_id=cc99c148-5a61-4001-ad8a-ebdf1344b66d
  7. Go Rockies! F*** Boston!
  8. I say finish the entire 7th floor, construction costs are only going to go up. It would be cheaper to build them now instead of waiting until later. Do not eliminate the four foot recess completely or the building will just end up looking like any other building. I too am disgusted by the surface lot in the first rendering. So, does anyone actually write in to the commissioners to make heard what we have to say here or do we just give our opinions here and then nothing happens?
  9. I would think that a lot of people would know why the Columbus Blue Jackets are named such, especially since the town is pretty much Scarlet and Grey.

Speaking to the Crew and MLS, it's a simple fact that anybody good is going to be spirited away to Europe or elsewhere. MLS is a pro league, but in many ways, it's the rest of the world's farm league. Thanks King Fish. Since this is the case, the MLS needs to entice players by asking them to make Soccer Big. It's one thing to go off and play for a notorious team and be one of many great players that play for the team. It's another to be considered a legend for making the team great. I could be wrong here, but is not Woody Hayes a legend in Columbus because it was he who made the team the power house that it is today? The Crew needs to find great players and tell them they can become legend for single handedly making soccer a power house sport in the United States. It's not easy, but I think it is possible and more noble.

^^I'm sad that it was taken down. The last one I saw on there was for SkyBus and that was a little lackluster in my opinion. What about marketing more to the Hispanic crowd? They live and breath soccer, do they not? Also, I am bothered by something mentioned before about the revolving door of team rosters. I am not a sports fan really, so I wouldn't know the answer to this, but is it normal to have that? I mean, no wonder why the Jackets and even the Crew don't have good seasons if this is true. They have nothing invested in the town or the team if their players just keep coming and going as they do.
  13. in the words of Bob Ross. "Let's give this happy little tree a friend"

I always thought it was stupid when teams named themselves after the state rather than the city they reside in. You have plenty of fans for both Cleveland and Cincinnati Sports in Columbus. Also, I agree it has a lot to do with name recognition. The reason why the fan base in Columbus for the Jackets is declining is because the team is doing horrible and because they are 'new' is no longer an excuse for their poor performance. Given their record, I would have to say they have a better turnout than they deserve. The Crew just needs to do better in general in my opinion. I never hear about them and often forget of there existence, then again, this could be because they need to be better marketed in places such as southern ohio where i have lived for the past six years of my life. Never change their names.
