Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
Oh, and Paris is the posterchild of what every city should be like.

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
I've been to that park in Paris, same island as Notre Dame. I liked it, but it had no grass.

Hollywood name drops Cincinnati
i just saw a preview for that show on CBS, looks interesting (some how it reminds me a little of LOST--major disaster and people isolated from the outside world) anyway, has it started yet or does it have yet to start?

Columbus: Scioto Mile Riverfront Park News
I was home for the weekend and I was able to take some pictures of the demolition. I just don't have them on this computer right now and I will have to upload them once I get back to school. Someone may have to remind me to do this. :-)

Columbus from the air
Gorgous pictures. It's about time someone posted some aireal photos of the city. It's gourgeous, but can do without all the parkings lots. More buildings, I say! I love the basket building, I think it is one of the most unique buildings in the country. Not a huge fan of COSI or Vets Memorial. COSI kind of creates more of a wall that acts as a barrior between Franklinton and The Scioto River. Vets Memerial i think should be torn down and replaced with a new Vets Memorial Baseball Field. It would be so awesome to go kyaking in the river on game day and collect the home run balls!

Columbus: Downtown: Arena District Developments and News
SlipperyFish replied to CMH_Downtown's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionThanks for those pictures Noozer. I also just checked out that outside virtual tour of the building and I did take note of the new stadium in the background. This may not be the right thread, but I really wish they wouldn't put those two sporting venues so close to each other. I would acctually love to see it replace the Veterans Memorial Auditorium. It would probably bring in more revenue than the Auditorium ( I understand they are really struggling) and it would help connect Franklinton with Downtown (if a pedestrian bridge is built over the Scioto to connect the two venues. My two cents. I assume though that the plans are already set in stone?

Facebook
Haha, I know that experience! I lived in Georgia for the year of 1993, I was ten at the time. Just this past school year, I found my best friend from there on facebook. Our families were great great friends and we had lost touch after a while because we had moved so much. It was sooo cool to finally catch up with them, and now, 13 years later, we are going back to Georgia to pay them a visit. It is going to be soo cool to see them again.

Columbus: Scioto Mile Riverfront Park News
I am really sad to see that this bridge project is taking such a long time to do and now they are thinking about going back to square one. Please Coleman, don't redo the design, I love it! To lose such a thing due to cost would be a pitty. Everything else that is built downtown seems to come from a corporate sponsor, why not a bridge? About the Whittear Peninsula, I think it may be experiencing delays as they are waiting to see what is going to happen with the downtown freeway expansion thingy. Don't want to build something only to have it knocked down due to an expanding freeway system. Sad news, my mom may be getting a job in Dublin! Arggg. I was unhappy to hear this as she has been contributing to the Downtown workforce for more than 20 years! I told her that as an Urban Planner I do not condone such reckless behavior but told her it was her decision to make. She said that downtown is suffering as there is nobody down there anymore. That saddens me like none other.

My photos from OSU - August 2005
You know, the Knowlton School of Architecture, I hated it at first, and in some ways I still do. But it has grown on me a bit. That might have been because of the fact that i was applying to get in there. I took a tour of the place once and was rather pleased with the openess of all the studios. I mean, it would be a nightmare for a security gaurd but hopefully that would never be an issue. Now the inside needs a little work as most of it is nothing but exposed concrete columns and walls but the idea is that it is a building in progress. Things will be added to it to as time goes on to give it its character. I think that is a rather interesting concept. Now whether or not it will happen--things being added to it that is--has yet to be seen. But then again it is only a year old.

Fantastic photos! Now, I've always wondered where the number four is in that numbers sculpture.

trump goes sci-fi in dubai
Hasn't he declared bancruptcy multiple times in his life before? I was thinking about this thread earlier today because of the design of this building. I was thinking that it would be really cool to see these buildings form like a modern day Stone Henge <sorry if I totally butchured the spelling but I have never acctually spelled it before>. Of course, when I get to thinking about such things, i think about doing it in Columbus. I think it would be cool, if possible, to commemerate Columbus's bicentenial by building two of these kinds of skyscrapers on oposit ends of a staight long road and this road would be in line with the possition of the sun on the day that columbus was founded. At sunset or sunrise, on the day of Columbus' creation, it the sun would set down the middle of the building. Just a random thought.

trump goes sci-fi in dubai
I think this building looks awesome and I can't wait to see it when it is finished. There seem to be a lot of skyscrapers being built this way in the east, in a somewhat arc like form. I wouldn't mind seeing something like this in Columbus.

Oh, the Mom from Home Alone was from Ohio in the movie. She says that her brother just drove her into Chicago from Ohio when she is paying the pizza delivery guy while talking to the "police officer" at the begining of the movie.

33 pics, and I'm 33 no more
HAPPY BIRTHDAY! You look great so stop worrying! Have fun where you are going and stay safe! Oh and great pictures as usual. I really like the last one of Cleveland at night with the moon in the sky over the city and the one of Terminal Tower blowing up. They should do that in Columbus some day. Oh, and I can see my moms office window in the picture that you took of The Huntington Center. I love that building! You should see it shimmer when the sun sets. Beautiful. Peace
