Not Even Tornadoes Will Go to Downtown Cincinnati?
Tornadoes hitting downtown is more rare simply because cities take up less space than rural areas. I remember when I was in High School a lot of downtowns got hit by tornadoes...Miami, Salt Lake City, Nashville, Ft. Worth, and most recently, Atlanta.

I LOVE this building. This is so what Columbus needed; one bedroom flats! I would so live here!

Columbus: Random Development and News
SlipperyFish replied to Summit Street's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI'm all for the 3rd street bridge over nationwide. Also, excited for the demolition of the skyway over high street connecting the federal building to william green tower but not so sure about the restaurants located in the adjacent allyway there. I'd also want to see taller trees to the entrance to pearl alley.

gLee
Ya, no scenes actually took place in Columbus but it played a very pivitol role in the show, not only was it the new capital of the united states but it was also the city that hawkings was sent to destroy. I just think that if the series were to have continued, maybe they could have had some scenes where the people are meeting in Columbus. apparently there were some scenes of Cheyenne, the new capital of the Allied States of America, being rebuilt...

Apparently the creator of the show is from Indiana near Lima. But he did admit that he did not go to there often.

gLee
OK, so who watched the pilot of gLee on Tuesday night!? I watched in on Hulu on Wednesday and I think I found my new favorite show and so far, it has gotten a lot of praise. I have yet to read anything negative about it... of course, until someone decides to be spiteful and say something derogatory about it on here. :-P But that won't count... What is more, the show is based out of Lima, Ohio which is exciting but what is sad, of course, the show is not filmed here. Now, I don't suggest that full production move here, but it would be nice if somehow we would cash in by filming an episode or two here. Maybe they go to a regionals and it is held at the real Lima High School. Or they go to states and perform in Cincinnati like my high school choir did. It always bothers me how there are so many shows that take place in Ohio but the state seems to do little to cash in on it... 3rd Rock from the Sun...Toledo Family Ties...Columbus WKRP Cinicnnati....Cincinnati Drew Carry Show...Cleveland Jericho...Columbus 10 Items or Less...Dayton Kinda random... but oh well, it's just me.

Columbus: Downtown: Franklin County Government Center Projects
SlipperyFish replied to seanguy's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionOMG! Seriously!? Why is this such a big deal. It's not like it is the first tunnel built in Columbus. I mean, you can go from the Huntington Center to the Capitol Building Garage through a tunnel that goes underneath High St. If you want something really phenominal when it comes to tunnels in Columbus, perhaps there should be more discussion about the tunnel being bored under the city for the new sewer system that is costing Columbus billions.

I knew it was going to be very hard to do well playing the Red Wings, but I was still holding on to hope. Maybe things can turn around and we can do a major upset. It's happened before, right?

This is exciting. I was secretly hoping that my game on Saturday would be the deciding factor to make it more exciting. But I am really happy they have clinched the playoffs and I cannot wait for Saturday's game.

Metro Columbus: Road & Highway News
Why wasn't all this work done when they reconstructed 315 and 670 no more than a decade ago? Could this be another reason to support rail projects? No need to deal with continuous/endless road construction.

You know, I remember years ago reading in the paper that they were supposed to put in a grassy median with art sculptures all up and down Braod St. there. I wonder whatever came of that.
