Key Tower 947'

  1. Whatever happened to that surprise company that was supposed to be moving to the region? I thought (Blaine Griffin?) mentioned someone was moving here.
  2. I'm not here to compare cities or have a "woe is me" mentality but I'm tired of HAVING to cope with losses. I understand that Columbus loses jobs too but they also grow them at an amazing clip. I'm not saying that we need to grow like Columbus but dang we seem like we take 1 step forward and 2 steps back. We buy Valspar, but leave their jobs in Minneapolis, while if it was flipped Sherwin would be on the first flight to the twin cities. We takeover all of these steel companies, but when we finally can take over the biggest one we potentially will lose the headquarters to Pittsburgh. Now Moen is moving employees to Deerfield with its parent company. Jesus Christ.
  3. Cleveland is off to a rough start in 2025.
  4. What the alleged plan is for the Galleria is what I wanted Tower City to have, an entertainment venue focus (Dave and Busters etc.) with the remaining stores being on top. If they can make this an all around entertainment venue, do something with the old Winking Lizard space and add some public use in between to tie it together. Now a dead corner is buzzing, especially with The Bell coming on-line.
  5. There are literally TONS of alternatives this whole thing is so stupid
  6. I hope it's not "Sherwin Williams Phase 2 will not happen".
  7. I need you to have an image for a good bomb and a bad bomb so I can prepare myself lol.
  8. While I like the amount of grass, transitioning well from the mall and covered walkways of the original, as I look at it more I don't like how it only serves to transport people to the Science Center and Rock Hall. The newer version while slimmer connects to the area of the future developments, has a walkway that connects to the Science Center and Rock Hall and is still close to Voinovich park. So overall I feel it is the better bridge to serve the ENTIRE lakefront development.
  9. I think they are referring to someone in Hamilton County saying Cleveland cant have everything.
  10. A Metroparks CEO not being a fan of buildings while investing heavy planning into a cities future is a dangerous combination.
  11. I actually read this myself as well. Here is the heartbreaking article. https://www.morningjournal.com/2022/02/04/lorains-mary-springowski-credited-with-contact-that-led-to-intel-in-ohio/
  12. I learned that back story and it made me sick to my stomach.
  13. So basically all of the progress will be undone due to one acquisition, so all of those points you made would be moot.
  14. I agree but they aren't even tall enough to reach the fare box yet lol
  15. I'm more concerned about the Child about to board the train by themselves, bad parenting.
  16. I share this same sentiment
  17. But that's my thing we don't even have to go that far. This isn't like one stable Steel company is making a Hail Mary to take over another one and hope it sticks, this is essentially a lifeline. I don't even see how Pittsburgh is seen as more desirable than the Cleveland Market.
  18. I would imagine to maintain support and grow it for MAGA as he can use it as a talking point to show how much his party has done for the state.
  19. What's the alternative? US Steel literally has no leverage if the U.S government is blocking the sale and Cleveland Cliffs is the only realistic buyer. It's not like they have the pick of the litter and can choose between 8 different buyers. You either take this deal or you risk folding and losing thousands of jobs. I'm sure there is another steel company that would want to buy US Steel but the viability of it compared to Cliffs doesn't compare. That's why I don't get the actions of our nutty CEO.
  20. I would find it hard to believe that the Cleveland Cliffs Board is excited about the CEO dismissing the stature of the Cleveland Cliffs name, making it seem inferior to US Steel even though they'd be the one acquiring it.
  21. I mean this site at its core is full of urban nerds (in a good way) that hold out hope for developments and visions that we know deep down won't happen lol. It's fun to hope and dream big sometimes.
  22. Cleveland seems to always get the short end of the stick when it comes to mergers. That's like PNC saying "we'll move to Cleveland if you let us take over the struggling National City bank", wtf.
  23. RTA with a de-unified system full of equipment and cars on their last leg vs. a unified system with new rail cars and the flexibility to create suburban line that connect directly to brookpark. If done correctly I believe it's possible. Hell, with a unified system they could run Special service on the Blue/Green lines (basically like the WFL right now) that riuns to the Brookpark stadium on Sundays and Special events.
