  1. Standalone Gucci stores are opening in every Midwest City except Cleveland it seems 😭😂
  2. FIVE. HUNDRED. THIRTY-SIX. PARKING SPACES???? EXCUSE ME?
  3. This video of the new Green Line station on Damen in Chicago was (re)built, due to the increase in density around the original station. I know we have the Little Italy Station and the 120th Street station was lost due to low ridership etc. but I really would like RTA to re-open the station for multiple reasons. 1. The station was closed before the Uptown was fully completed aka the area was a lot less dense, that has now changed dramatically. With the station sitting directly next to Uptown it would be heavily used. 2. CWRU hadn't experienced the student enrollment surge that we are seeing now, leading to more housing/dorms and 120th Street station is a lot closer to campus. 3. We don't have a station AT ALL that connects with the Healthline which is mindblowing to me and this sits perfectly along that line. 3b. With Circle East looking like it is about to take off, this connectivity and redline proximity would lead to an increase in ridership as well. With all of these new factors at play I would bet the 120th street would go from no use to one of the most popular stations, especially with a design as striking as the new Green Line station in Chicago.
  4. Neighborhood desirability goes a long way in deciding what's worth investing in unfortunately.
  5. Seeing that this is the same sized hotel as the one that would be in Bridgeworks and being in the same vicinity as it, I wouldn't be surprised if the same Hotel brand chose to move to this project.
  6. Even more interesting is when he described the renderings with a mostly enclosed roof and activated ground floor.
  7. I feel like this area has a lot of real TOD potential but won't reach its full potential until we get our unified system. Being able to take a train from Stokes straight to Van Aken is game changing and hopefully is implemented ASAP. Right now, it's too cumbersome and time consuming to take a Red Line to the Light rail here, I may as well drive.
  8. I just read it. Essentially that $40 million gap is making them rethink what they are going to do moving forward. With Rhodes & Fenn Tower needing attention and $350 million in deferred maintenance (that number shocked me), they said that takes priority over Woilsten
  9. Here is the story from a couple of days ago (updated yesterday), it is behind a paywall: Cleveland State nixed plans for relocated Greyhound bus station near campus
  10. Parking Bans make me itch, Cleveland goes over board with the police orders which to me discourages people from coming down as much. I love the city and Downtown and I hate coming down there on the weekend because I know it'll be hell to park on the street. My hope is with all of this new technology they can beef up the traffic dept. and create an efficient enforcement system. What is the point of investing in these smart parking systems with peak pricing if the city can't see the monetary benefits due to restrictions in the most desirable parts of the city.
  11. I mean Wolstein passing (not too far after renderings were released for phase 3) and the George's, who are notorious for sitting on properties to milk them dry, took control of the largest piece of land down there so that definitely doesn't help.
  12. Chicago also is in a unique situation because the technically "don't own their Streets" they privatized their meters, and parking garages downtown during the great recession, selling them for $1.2 billion instead of raising property taxes.
  13. Yeah, Kerry McCormick was disappointed and responded by saying CSU students depend on the bus and it's already a bus stop as is so he's confused on what the problem is now.
  14. So apparently Cleveland State University nixed the Greyhound relocation to STJ due to "Safety and Security" reasons. Lame.
  15. This part right here validates my point, Burke's purpose is so small and unknown that closing it wouldn't hinder anything. I feel that some people just want it there because they think it's cool to have an airport on the water. But why keep something around that really doesn't serve a critical purpose and can be replicated elsewhere.
  16. Aaaaaand this is why I said close Burke ASAP, it hinders Lakefront development.
  17. If the Bills are building an entirely new stadium for $1.7 Billion, is $1 Billion for the renovation not enough to completely right the wrongs of the original design (Closing the gaps on the edges, adding not a dome but an extending roof overhang, etc.
  18. So since there is new ownership, does that mean City Club II is now off the table?
  19. I just read an article that said Chicago is utilizing Union Station as a pick up/drop off for Greyhound, why couldn't Prospect behind TC be used as pickup and drop off or even the area by the riverfront be used as a spot for a new multiuse station? A pickup and drop off area, micro retail storefronts for travelers/tourist (quick bites, tourism clothing, a help center etc. which could maintain foot traffic and it is close to rail.
  20. Sherwin Williams seems to want a connected campus, especially with the skywalks they have built. Also if Landmark Tower was seen as too old and outdated I don't see this, an older building by about 30 years, being any different.
  21. My thing is if they are building a new $12 million transit center to house this when they have much bigger issues is a problem to me, especially when STJ is still relatively new. Now you're stuck with a new transit center that is underutilized just to build the west side version of it. Also $12 Million to build a new when the Superior Rapid station is an utter EMBARRASMENT is crazy.
  22. So if nothing besides the Stadium is actually built is it really a win for Brook Park and is it REALLY that much of a loss for Cleveland?
