  1. I have a question about this rail cars. Say the RTA wants to move away from Pantographs and move to 3rd rail, are these cars capable of it?
  2. Beautiful building, looks like something you see in a larger city like Chicago. The design doesn't try to hard, but doesn't look generic and stands out.
  3. A couple things to note from first glance (outside of the obvious exterior updates): The scoreboard has been replaced for a larger one and I see they included a high rise building next to the stadium which to me makes me feel like there are more lined up in front of it. I also like the surrounding plaza improvements.
  4. The high rise renovation is progressing. Sorry for the bad picture, there was a car behind me and I couldn't stop lol.
  5. To me, as much as I love new mid rises, high rises, etc. going up throughout the city, the current efforts to connect the city's riverfront is bigger than any building project. These public projects, if executed properly will create more vibrancy than any renovation or new build ever could. A space for visitors, residents and everyone in between will make the city always feel vibrant and that goes a long way for the city image. It also will be a great spot to show off when large events come here and show off our skyline.
  6. Yeah I saw a video (Wendover Productions?), stating that Amtrak actually is supposed to have priority over freight but it isn't enforced. Also I saw that the freight companies overload their trains which slows down their travel, making it slower for passenger rail.
  7. So just continue to let our existing stadium to age until we have an overall winning percentage that's over .500? Yeah they'll be gone by that time.
  8. I feel like you don't need everything done at one time. Bus lanes could be first, signal prioritization could be another phase. Bike lanes with raised curbs would be game changing.
  9. The space that intrigues me is space next to Beyond Juicery. It is so small, has no door access but is listed for lease, I wonder what can go in there.
  10. Maybe I'm over reacting but I feel like Public Square inadvertently hurts the malls. They are located very close to each other but Public Square has more consistent (so better?) programming. Since they don't seamlessly flow into each other people on the square don't necessarily know that it exists or just forget. What I think is strange is the amount of hotels that exist right by it but no one visits it. Maybe that is due to nothing interesting existing on the malls like Public Square has (Soldiers and Sailors, Rebol, The water feature/ice rink). I feel that having "fun" furniture or fun, interactive items along the malls would get visitors or families to visit more, that superman plaza would be a good start. Another thing would be shrinking the MASSIVE road that is St. Clair. My goodness that is an intimidating road and with the lack of traffic it is unnecessarily wide, more so than even Superior and even that is getting redone. The road makes the malls seem even more separated.
  11. I was JUST WONDERING how long it would take to fill that Cle Clothing Space. A drive thru focused fast food restaurant being located in a walkable neighborhood like this is what I've been begging to become a trend in Cleveland like it is in other cities. Is a Chick-Fil-A exciting? No not necessarily, but I hope this creates a trend of going away from drive thru's in our best neighborhoods.
  12. The IX Center is useless for large events now. They block off SO MUCH SPACE, like the car show was kind of a joke this year.
  13. With all of these riverfront projects coming along at the same time, it would be good to have a water taxi service (one that stays open late) to carry people through the river.
  14. Well if the plans stay the same then this is a great trade off. Edit: Wait I thought they said upthread that there will only be 6 townhomes now and not 12.
  15. All of this depends on the number of people that are going to live there. Tearing perfectly good homes down that have 9 bedrooms for an apartment or condo building with 30-50 people is a good trade off, but replacing three homes that total 9 bedrooms for say 12-15 is a tough sell for me, especially when there are other location options.
  16. New construction versus a renovation of a well built historical building is not the same at all to me.
  17. Generally speaking, that was such a depressing sentence.
  18. There are 3 perfectly useable homes that can be saved, more importantly they have 3 different styles and contribute to the diverse architecture of West 14th. This isn't NYC it isn't like there is a shortage of land to build on. Apparently the owners want this though so it is a moot argument.
  19. I keep asking this but the same thing seems to keep happening. I thought 2025 was supposed to be the year we simplified and streamlined our zoning to avoid a lot of this.
  20. Wait they are tearing down the house on the right? That house looks great.
  21. This. I wouldn't mind seeing more buildings of this density or closer throughout the immediate surrounding area. Gives off a DC vibe with uniformity and dense large buildings filling blocks.
  22. This should have an "other option". I clicked yes but it's only for sporting and entertainment events that have heavy traffic and high parking prices, I wouldn't recommend it otherwise.
  23. That is one hell of a setback at parking lot.
  24. To me fare free only makes sense in a state that is a strong financial supporter of public transportation, Ohio is not that.
