  1. That building truly has a presence, especially in person.
  2. Wasn’t there a clause put in place when Amtrak was first created that gave it priority over freight trains? The issue was that no one enforces it I believe
  3. Tbh there are events that the IX Center has that don’t even need the size, Bridal shows etc. I honestly wonder why those aren’t downtown.
  4. That’s strange, I wonder what could be so serious that they nixed them.
  5. But with all of the events coming to Cleveland it allows us to always look like a city constantly building lol.
  6. The main thing I love about them is their size and stature.
  7. From this angle we really need something taller on the east end of Downtown, the drop off is a bit too dramatic.
  8. We're literally the complete opposite of ideal to host this conference. I love taking the train when it makes sense but there are 3, maybe 4 rail stops that are useful and are in the "heart of the action." The rest are after thought stops that requires an uber or additional bus ride to get to where you need to go. I honestly don't even trust it to take to the airport. Waterfront line has to be one of the most underutilized rail lines in the country. The promo video is amazing though, could be used for more than rail.
  9. It was said to be an architectural nightmare.
  10. Integrating the stadium into the surrounding area instead of just planting it there seems like common sense but yet it is a rarity. But looking at this rendering I vote that we should tear down all the historical buildings and newer developments along East Blvd and build the stadium in University Circle across from the Museum of Art. (I'm clearly joking about the last part).
  11. Cleveland to Columbus would be amazing but I'd love Cleveland to Chicago.
  12. I said something similar recently but I said "The best cities have some of the worst traffic".
  13. Part of me doesn't want them to leave 200 PS. While a new tower would be amazing, building a new office tower just to say we built one wouldn't be smart or ideal, yeah it looks good from the optics but that's all. That would leave a MAJOR hole in an already struggling office tower with Benesch leaving and Huntington Bank potentially downsizing and removing their naming rights from the building. Now depending on how fast this would all happen that would be interesting to see what that causes SHW to do. If Cliffs leaves 200 PS that would leave space in a prominent (aging) Class A space that SHW may find easier to move into rather than build new. It is close to their new HQ, has attached parking, an atrium for employees and dominates the skyline while being cheaper than developing and building a 2nd HQ. So I feel that if Cliffs DOES move and build new, we would still only have 2 new highrises/skyscrapers instead of a bonus 3rd.
  14. In person the building really is good looking.
  15. I think they're saying Bay Village is not very transit friendly so their Mayor should be the last person in this role.
  16. Cleveland City Council holds off on mayor’s ask for more lakefront planning money amid Browns relocation threat https://www.cleveland.com/metro/2024/04/cleveland-city-council-holds-off-on-mayors-ask-for-more-lakefront-planning-money-amid-browns-relocation-threat.html
  17. Oh this is absolutely amazing, this sort of development is great to have in multiple areas throughout the Downtown area, I would even like this in the west bank.
  18. From what I understand you just bring your ID badge and then you the attention of the workers at the register to apply it.
  19. Cleveland Clinic and Case Students also get a 10% discount.
  20. 500 million towards a $2 billion development that won't see a payoff for another 20 years? Pass. Put that money towards creating a vibrant year round world renowned public area that will attract visitors from all over.
  21. Dense mixed use development > Another 30 story tower with only 1500 sq. Feet of retail with limited use surrounding it.
  22. Red seats would be ugly and loud, this blue is fine. This seems like the typical issue Cleveland has, they like sticking to the old ways and oppose changing due to "Tradition", fans still won't be quiet about the name change.
  23. My girlfriend and I always visit, due to the late hours it is open. I would say that it is steady often and busy at times, it the lot is consistently full on the first level. I would say that they probably didn't need the garage to be built especially since they have had it closed since day 1.
  24. 20 years? At that point they'll be looking to build another stadium.
  25. The Greyhound station being repurposed is the greatest thing to happen to Stephanie Tubbs TC.
