  1. I actually would love to see a rendering of this downtown just for giggles. And a skyline shot if it would be impactful. Sent from my Pixel 8 Pro using Tapatalk
  2. This is the sexiest jail I've ever seen. Edit: $3 BILLION DOLLARS???? It's so expensive to build in NYC.
  3. Vikings Stadium is by far my favorite structure in the NFL. If our stadium isn't at this level I don't want it lol. Sent from my Pixel 8 Pro using Tapatalk
  4. Slightly off topic but, are my eyes deceiving me or are the jersey barriers gone???
  5. These small projects add up to a major impact. More of these please. Sent from my Pixel 8 Pro using Tapatalk
  6. With this mentality this will turn into the indoor version of Browns stadium. Used minimally and wasting public dollars. The Current wolstein center, while flawed serves as an adequate/good alternative for events that may not be popular enough for RMFH or don't want to pay the tab. I've been to a number of comedy shows and concerts this past year that have hit that sweet spot of 7-10,000 people, so big enough for Wolstein but wouldn't make financial sense for RMFH. 7. Is it not possible to do cutouts like Euclid Avenue downtown or University Circle? Sent from my Pixel 8 Pro using Tapatalk
  8. I always thought that they would offer them money for their building, move them into the ground floor of the Artisan temporarily and move them into the newly constructed building when it's done. Sent from my Pixel 8 Pro using Tapatalk
  9. I never understood EXACTLY what this was for. Did I miss something? The link doesn't take me anywhere. Sent from my Pixel 8 Pro using Tapatalk
  10. To be fair, Superior Avenue doesn't get much street parking usage as it already is. The amount of cars that park currently on Superior Ave, especially outside of Downtown is relatively small and can easily be diverted to the side Streets. I mentioned culture change in another thread and this is another example of that. Make the area served extremely attractive to visit and frequent, while shifting away from a car centric street and offering QUALITY transportation modes and this could work as is. Mindset change has to start somewhere. As Superior gets more popular and construction pops up, fill it with SOME parking garages with retail that can support a structure on top. TBH this is the perfect opportunity to add Light BRT to superior with the number 3 bus, something I felt should've been done, similar to Clifton. At worst if you want to concede to the cars then you can copy Clifton and ban parking in the bus lane during peak hours and allow it at night/after peak hours. Sent from my Pixel 8 Pro using Tapatalk
  11. I’m scared to ask if anyone has pics of what was here prior. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I will never understand how they opposed this project, it fits in so well. Sent from my Pixel 8 Pro using Tapatalk
  13. Literally had no idea that Superior did that. That's 100 times cooler than anything we have now. Sent from my Pixel 8 Pro using Tapatalk
  14. Cleveland needs to focus on their outdoor areas before we try to reload Tower City. Tower City would be better served by filling the shopping center up with things that cater to the demographics it houses. Focus on retail that people in the hotels, apartments and to a lesser extent office workers would find useful. Honestly if we don't have an entertainment area in it I feel that a Small format Home Goods/TJ Maxx, H&M Home, etc. would be great there. Sent from my Pixel 8 Pro using Tapatalk
  15. I would say a 400 footer (I believe a little taller than this) that roughly matches the height of the courthouse, would be PERFECT to balance the skyline from that angle. Edit: Where would a building would have to be built to fill the gap next to BP Tower? Sent from my Pixel 8 Pro using Tapatalk
  16. Never called your question illegitimate to clarify. It all depends on what you're trying to accomplish and since Cleveland is trying to become a 15-Minute city you need to make transit seem more convenient than driving. I feel that a .5 parking ratio accomplishes that. Less parking spots should lead to more street parking and more cars using street Parking makes parking a "hassle" which in theory should lead to encouraging residents to utilize Public transit. NOW TO BE CLEAR, less convenient parking will only lead to more reliance on transit if RTA creates a convenient and enjoyable experience. If that doesn't happen, no parking ratio will matter, people will continue to use cars.
  17. My lord why is that area so dead lol Sent from my Pixel 8 Pro using Tapatalk
  18. I think it's relative to the neighborhood. In the WHD I'd prefer the former since that neighborhood has so many low-rise historical buildings. Also mid-rise buildings tend to fill-in the skyline well, giving that dense feel. Look at Cincinnati, they have one of the densest skylines especially versus Cleveland who has 4 out of the 5 tallest buildings in Ohio. Sent from my Pixel 8 Pro using Tapatalk
  19. If people move to a city, a real city, they already expect parking to be limited. That is what comes with moving to or living in urban areas, especially growing cities. Cleveland shouldn't limit its potential and its growth because people who chose to continue to live in a growing area to enjoy the benefits don't at the same time want to deal with the "drawbacks". The people will be the reason Cleveland is held back, not the city itself.
  20. The mentioning of their "vast Marquee experience at the NPS" was hilarious because you could tell the presenter held back a laugh as much as they could [emoji23]. Sent from my Pixel 8 Pro using Tapatalk
  21. If we are to encourage TOD and take it seriously we have to stop the 1:1 Parking. Those who love their parking won't move here, those who love multiple modes of transportation will, it's simple. We have to start setting the foundation of a cultural change and simply put, not every building will be for everybody and their taste. Sent from my Pixel 8 Pro using Tapatalk
  22. The biggest thing I agree with is that there are too many indoor shopping storefronts and that there should be a focus on Street facing retail. I'd love for Tower City to transform its first floor into an "entertainment district" of sorts with a D&B, Main Event etc. or something similar and utilize the second floor for bars or restaurants for hotel guests and residents. Prospect avenue should be its focus for retail. I was a major fan of closing that off to vehicles. The problem Tower City has is no one knows it was/is a mall so it won't naturally generate foot traffic. Sent from my Pixel 8 Pro using Tapatalk
  23. Frontier Airlines expanding in Cleveland with 'crew base,' bringing hundreds of jobs "A crew base means the Cleveland Hopkins Airport will be a center of operations for Frontier crew members, as opposed to a hub, a central airport connecting passenger routes." https://www.news5cleveland.com/news/local-news/frontier-airlines-expanding-in-cleveland-with-crew-base-bringing-hundreds-of-jobs Sent from my Pixel 8 Pro using Tapatalk
  24. That's fine, as other neighborhoods around flats west develop and become more popular people will visit Flats west less and less, making those lots less lucrative. What Jacobs seems to not understand is that this isn't Cleveland of 15-20 years ago, you can't stay stagnant because the competition is too fierce. Sent from my Pixel 8 Pro using Tapatalk
  25. Isn't this the plan that got obliterated by the planning commission a few months back? Sent from my Pixel 8 Pro using Tapatalk
