  1. Looking at the bollards and the curb extension it looks like the middle crosswalk wont have much space for the buses to roll through. Am I looking at this wrong? It looks like one bus at a time can go through. Sent from my Pixel 7 using Tapatalk
  2. Was just about to post this lol Sent from my Pixel 7 using Tapatalk
  3. That was record time to lease a building lol. A phase 2 may be in order. Sent from my Pixel 7 using Tapatalk
  4. Do we have that much development? I never even heard of these. Sent from my Pixel 7 using Tapatalk
  5. In Cleveland since the orange barrels never disappear they are our flowers. Sent from my Pixel 7 using Tapatalk
  6. All of this uncertainty with how WFH will affect the region seems like it makes it the perfect time to start the conversation on a city-county merger. Just a thought. Sent from my Pixel 7 using Tapatalk
  7. This is exactly my point I made earlier. Why are projects designed on Euclid treated with so much love, care and detail and other streets have the "at least something is getting built" mentality. This is why the city won't reach its full potential. Everything that we say we want in a TOD heavy city is just lip service if action isn't put behind it, it has to start somewhere. TOD and walkability shouldn't be limited to one street it should be universal throughout the city. It was said in the thread that Euclid Avenue did a great job eliminating cars, well why not start the process on other streets now. Why not Chester? Why can't streets like this get the same love. 8. The problem with building or redeveloping something on Euclid that I've noticed is developers treat the immediate street situated behind Euclid as an afterthought. CSU did it with the Edge, Dealer tire did it with that parking garage and now this project. Each major street should be treated the same. The building should be fronting Carnegie like it is on Euclid with a retail space. Sent from my Pixel 7 using Tapatalk
  9. You can't look at the past for reasons to maintain status quo. If we really want to become this "15 minute city" that the mayor is talking about, it has to start with projects like these and future ones. We need to put the proper design and zoning forward NOW. 10. Where are they going? Sent from my Pixel 7 using Tapatalk
  11. “The bollards do the same job that jersey barriers do while being “a more graceful design element,” Romanoff said. Some will be fixed in place, while others with be removable for events on the square, she said.” Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Also siding has started to go up for The Davis Apartments. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. The brick structure along Churchill has been torn down. Maybe construction is imminent? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. That’s the thing, that section of Ohio City doesn’t need kickstarting it’s already running on all cylinders. With the Quarter, Quarter Phase 2, Church and State, Saucy Brew Works expansion and other retail such as lululemon opening on top of other smaller projects on the side streets, this neighborhood is fine. While I would love to see this project built it really isn’t transformative it’s just another piece to the puzzle. If they built this on the corner of 105th and Superior in Glenville that would be different, THAT would jumpstart and transform the neighborhood. Circle Square would get built in its full form in a decade or so MAYBE without TMUD assistance in Cleveland’s market. It is truly the definition of transformative, it is creating a new thoroughfare, adding office space, a hotel, residential, retail to aka density and activity to an area of UC that was DEAD to pedestrians not too long ago. On top of narrowing a street to its proper with for 2022 Cleveland standards it’s the perfect project for an award like this. You easily could argue that the money that was given to Millennia should have went to this project the first round. It is more important to changing the feel of an area and is much more shovel ready. 15. Supposedly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Combined with The Centennial right now (I have VERY little faith that Millennia will start anytime soon) and if Erieview doesn’t start when they say they will, I feel this will leave a bad impression on the commission that awards the money. Leading to them having a hesitancy to award us a bulk of the money in the future. Those two projects alone have accounted for 33% of the major city money awarded over the past two years. 17. Have I not been on the East side? I live on the East Side. Right off of 105th to be exact where all this demolition is occurring. I just hate seeing such old structures get replaced eventually with newer structures. Some buildings are irreplaceable, they give a neighborhood character and history. 18. There should be a clause that states, “If a project hasn’t started construction in X number of years, TMUD funding will be revoked.” Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I really don’t like how all these demolitions can just happen so easily on the East Side. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Jesus that’s majority of the shops that opened. Maybe it’s time they shift their focus to more recognizable brands again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. The new ones that just opened? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Are there ground floor retail spaces attached to the landmark building? Speaking of which, if Gilbert is enamored with outdoor retail shopping, why hasn’t he filled the ones on prospect? Right behind Tower city aka close to the train station, literally the final stop for multiple bus routes, next to a high end hotel, and on the same street as his casino. Seems like the perfect place to jumpstart this area he is trying to build up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Regarding the plan to remove part of the Avenue mall. They are essentially makin retail space smaller inside of Tower city and replacing them with more outdoor retail correct? I feel like my confusion is what stores would that effect? Is that the section that contains the fountain? The second floor section that now houses the Cavs team shop, Jaxons closet etc? 24. I do find it interesting that this neighborhood was renamed to the Superior ARTS District but ever since then artist are being bounced from each building slowly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. You said this as a joke but I have longed believed that in order for our region to be competitive we need to be one region and combine our resources together rather than poach and compete with each other. Columbus and Indy are examples that come to mind. The days of people flocking to our region due to a large availability of jobs, allowing every city to succeed in their own way are over.
