Cleveland: Downtown: New Police Headquarters
Looking at the original proposal it looks pretty similar except shorter and they got rid of the steel beam look in the front. Still an improvement. Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Tapatalk

Didn't the state offer $20 million for the merger? I may be mistaken Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Tapatalk

Cleveland: Population Trends
Can someone explain how the White Population grew from 37% to 40% and the Black population dropped from 53% to 49% but Cleveland.com is reporting a dip in both populations? Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Tapatalk

Cleveland: Population Trends
With the annexation of East Cleveland I'd imagine though that the bleeding wouldn't last long in that "neighborhood". It sits adjacent to University Circle which tried to expand in EC but didn't have luck in the circle east townhomes. I believe I read it's due to lackluster city services that they don't build there. I'd imagine that a merger with Cleveland would have opened the flood gates for development and we'd see instant growth in that area. ESPECIALLY the Euclid and Superior Intersection which is absolutely ripe for TOD with nothing but empty lots and shopping centers right by the Superior rapid station. Greed and Ego will never allow that to happen, especially since East Cleveland essentially sabotaged the merger talks and blamed it on "not wanting black leadership to be seen as a failure". The city is doomed, the state needs to figure out a way to step in. Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Tapatalk

I have a question. What ever happened to the Rock and Roll Walk of Fame? I always thought that was a fantastic idea to draw tourism but it seemed to vanish out of thin air.

One thing I noticed that some developments in other cities do for residents if they are located by train stations is offer bus passes in their rent.

Your snappiness on here in completely unnecessary sometimes. While you provide invaluable information to this site your snappiness at times isn’t justifiable. If I didn’t care I wouldn’t had asked in the first place. I inquired about it because I missed the date due to me not knowing about it. Also if I did know about it I couldn’t make it no matter how much I wanted to go. Not everyone works a traditional 9-5 job and can make these events. I work 12-9 most days so making events like this isn’t possible so I use this site as information to fill me in. So yes I do care I wouldn’t be on this site checking in on various topics about Cleveland everyday if I didn’t I could be doing other things with my life. So if you weren’t going to answer the question you could’ve saved the response.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
I’m extremely excited for this though because this will add an entertainment aspect to the neighborhood that I believe that stretch of West 25th is missing. The more diverse the offerings are in the neighborhood the more sustainable it will be.

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
So you agree with my points long story short. Due to the consistency in heights it looks good from most if not all angles while ours looks good from only certain angles even with the new additions. (One is listed below which I believe is from CSU and the other being from the Innerbelt bridge). Unless you are a global city like a NYC or Chicago you are more likely to have mid/high rises built vs tons of Key Towers and that is okay. Our skyline is improving though due to the current additions but it’s not because they are trying to be the star of the show (A super tall) it’s because they are acting as the supporting cast (mid/high rises). SHW building a building that serves as the supporting cast is exactly what our skyline needs.

That further proves my point though. Those buildings aren’t super talls and their shorter height does the job of filling in the skyline instead of trying to set records.

Was this supposed to be 16 bit?

This height debate is simple. Like I said Density > Height and if you don’t get why let’s look at an example that is in our own backyard. Cincinnati has arguably (and honestly it’s not up for debate) the best skyline in Ohio overall. Cincinnati’s tallest building is the Great American Tower at 660 feet (only 44 feet taller than SHW’s planned building). Cincinnati also only has TWO buildings in the top 10 tallest in Ohio. Are there other factors that help the look of the skyline such as their narrower street grid? Yes. Their buildings though are cohesive in height and aren’t super tall’s by any means and that’s the biggest factor IMO. Bringing it back to topic, I would definitely take 5 SHW buildings over 2 Key Towers any day.

I may have missed in but what is going into this building on West 25th and Bridge? Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Tapatalk

This is the same debate as Nucleus. A dense skyline is better than a tall one. Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Tapatalk

The second tower I'd like to have a brick base and blend with the Warehouse District buildings since the proximity would be so close to them. Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Tapatalk

Oh those colors don’t indicate what colors I’d use lol. I wouldn’t mind a terminal tower treatment though with the ability to change the lights daily since it is a paint company lol.

If they were to go all glass I would prefer they treat the breakups in the design as opportunities to place lighting strips in them similar to the Hilton or Beacon. It allows them to be simple while adding something to the night time skyline.

So what ?Mayor seemed the most in favor of public transit?

This back and forth about the stripes shows how important not only the design is but the materials as well. Great design can be ruined by poor material choices. Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Tapatalk

Cleveland: Retail News
Lids is opening on the second floor of Beachwood mall right next to the food court. Although Beachwood is straying further and further away from the mall it once was, they are doing a great job keeping it filled with mid range national retailers.
