  1. My favorite part: Multiple developers have worked to build up the area near the station, near the West Side Market. “The more density we have around rapid stations, it’s a no brainer in my opinion,” Harper said.
  2. So basically they are going back home lol
  3. That's a beautiful building! I love the presence of buildings on Detroit.
  4. This rendering looks different than the one in the 19 news story that is on site. Is it still a dark brick or this bright red? Please say the former.
  5. Basically Hough is trying to differentiate itself from the model that its neighboring neighborhood Glenville is following, which is dense neighborhoods, and traditional home designs. Granted Glenville saw less neighborhood teardown than Hough.
  6. I hope someone saves that rowhouse next to it.
  7. "Maron said it was too soon to say how MRN would approach the Red Line project, but he said public input would be central to any design process." That part worries me, especially with the tree loving residents definitely stepping in. My only request would be, NO VINAL, ALUMINUM SIDING or PLASTICS.
  8. I would expect a small market that sells essential items and groceries.
  9. The only non-subsidized homes being built that still have for sale signs are the ones on Wade Park getting built as we speak and the one on 105 and Lee Avenue. The subsidized ones are selling as well it's just a lot of them to sell lol.
  10. So much is getting built that I completely forgot about this project lol
  11. Athleta is moving from Beachwood mall? They really didn't live up to the new to market claims when they first announced the project.
  12. It stopped working because the effort stopped being applied by Forest City. Retail down there when it opened was in a downtown that revolved around 9-5 office workers with very few residents (2,000 or so by the year 2000). Downtown now is a live, work, play area with virtually 20K residents, a nice tourism flow and immediate surrounding areas that are seeing massive investment (OC, Tremont etc.) on top of residential now in the tower itself. Retail can work but they have to understand the demographic it is serving. We don't necessarily need Gucci and Fendi down there again just stores that are new to market or serve the demographics needs. To answer your question, shopping retail is something the area down there needs to help complete it. It doesn't even have to be completely retail. You can combine the larger storefronts such as the Kringle space in the back, footlocker (relocate it) and the other storefronts in the far back for a fun use. Something like a Dave and Busters, Round One, Main Event type venue would be amazing to have downtown and would be a good draw for families that visit or live downtown to have something to do together. Tower City needs to be a space for everyone and not just a select few and that's what CityBlock feels like. The pieces are in place for the original vision of The Avenue to be fulfilled, the effort needs to be there. PLUS that rendering of their plans are ugly and a slap in the face to the ornate architecture of the building.
  13. I still dislike this plan, I feel it isn't a good use of this space. Would be better suited in the neighborhood designated as the health/TECH corridor.
  14. Anyone know anything about this? Was this apart of the Planned Outlet Mall?
  15. TBH MRNs designs have gone down tremendously since Uptown. They really aren't trying design wise.
  16. Historic May Co. building on Public Square starts leasing apartment, retail space following renovations https://www.cleveland.com/realestate-news/2020/08/historic-may-co-building-on-public-square-starts-leasing-apartment-retail-space-following-renovations.html
  17. So as far as the 50 states we are the least used. Great.?
  18. Beachwood is in a transition period, before that shooting. It just isn't going to be the mall it once was ESPECIALLY with Pinecrest stealing its thunder. I commend them for filling their storefronts that have recently become empty so quickly though.
  19. New York & Co. is closing in Beachwood. Took J.Crews spot and now they are leaving as well. Another vacancy in Beachwood Place. Does anyone know if the stores that have coming soon in the mall are being worked on btw?
  20. I wish it looked better visually, preferably similar to the Slavic Village project but with the brick coloring of the Circle North Apartments, BUT the concept is amazing and very needed in a city where the new housing stock pricing is shooting through the roof.
  21. This is laid out like a motel
  22. Couple of updates. Also how long has that Beyond Juice & Eatery sign been up? Have I just been missing it?
  23. Apologies for being off topic but I'm impressed with the lineup that Stark was able to get to sign on. Every tenant was a big name that either weren't in the market (Shake Shack) or a version of their stores (Starbucks Reserve) weren't many places at all, very exclusive.
