  1. There was mention of mixed use at the R&D site (could be a separate development) but no mixed use at the HQ, I hope we don't have to deal with blocks of single use office space. We'd be building something just to build it like we have in the past (Key, BP etc.) with no long term look at the benefits to an area when it comes to public use. Public Square honestly isn't very public. They need commercial space fronting the major streets. These mistakes aren't easily reversible, we have to get it right if we want to transition properly with the future of cities (live, work, play).
  2. Obviously things need to play out more and a new HQ being built downtown is better than the opposite or a company leaving. That being said, after seeing that press release, seeing that potentially we wont see the Minneapolis team come here like we first thought, the new HQ space not being bigger than what they already have, a rumor of NO SKYSCRAPER, potentially not building on the Jacobs lot and the whole Brecksville thing, I can't help but feel underwhelmed.
  3. Welp now WE HAVE to take that headquarters from them we need those 650 jobs. ???
  4. Well we secured 34 rail cars recently but I agree, I'm just tired of looking at those run down buses.
  5. This gives me more disappoinment than when Eaton left to go to Highland Hills. At least with that Cleveland gets some sort of benefit.
  6. That kinda sucks. Bedrock site would have been a great alternative. Is the job gain in Cleveland proper now a wash compared to what's here now? Even though we will potentially gain new HQ jobs losing those R&D jobs seems like it cancels that out.
  7. I think RTA should focus on fixing the sinking ship of the Healthline before investing $40 million into BRT Lite at best. Perfect the true BRT that you have now instead of focusing elsewhere. Implementation of payment systems that utilize Google Pay and Apple Pay would be a great start. Allow the RTA App to be compatible with those payment systems to start. Implement the scanners that they have at the Tower City station to serve as verification of payment. Heck hiring a second person to sit on the other half of the bus to serve as a someone to verify where the front bus driver can't would go a long way, similar to the Tower City Station. There are so many examples out there. Focus on that first, use the money they are searching for on West 25th for studies to improve the POP System on the HL and then buy the proper technology. ALSO REPLACE THE HEALTHLINE BUSES! How is something that is the jewel of the RTA system and was once a marketing tool allowed to have such run down buses? Those buses while still running look absolutely awful. Running 24/7 for 12 years has taken its toll. Use the money for that as well.
  8. Welp my circles were correct ?. The H&M signs indicate H&M Home or Regular H&M or both?
  9. Looking at this map I can see where H&M could take the space by Nordstrom's and occupy both floors maybe the first floor can encompass multiple retail spaces for their clothing section and upstairs can house H&M home or vice versa.
  10. What two story space is by Pottery Barn? I wouldn't be shocked if they took over the old Hollister space or Abercrombie and Fitch space. They walked away from their 2 story store at Crocker Park and went to a one story model that seems relatively new. I can seem them replicating that at Beachwood.
  11. To me those days of Beachwood are over the mall and it's demographic is changing. The "unsafe" reputation that it built doesn't help either, I think that gave Pinecrest a bit of momentum.
  12. I would imagine the would want that Restaurant space, especially since you can enter separately from the actual mall, also I believe that H&M doesn't want to give up their prime spot at the very front of the mall. Journey's Kids and Carter's I can see going in the wing that houses Justice and Children's Place right now because that demographic of shopper already is over there and they need to reinvigorate that wing. If they don't go there the Gap Kids and Baby Gap stores are the other places I see. I can see JD Sports going into the full size Gap space due to the need to have a store that large for those type of stores. Baja Bistro will obviously go into the only food court space open.
  13. The funny part is they keep talking about this project "ruining the historical character of the neighborhood". The homes getting torn down are run down Cleveland doubles that mirror other Cleveland Doubles in the city. Nothing special here.
  14. First VA moves it's operations from Brecksville to Cleveland and now they may lose at least 650 corporate jobs and a headquarters to Cleveland? It's safe to say if the headquarters moves that Brecksville officially HATES CLEVELAND ???.
  15. Wait the waterfront line carries you from the FEB to West 3rd station which is right across the street from the Browns Stadium. Maybe because I'm not a drinker but that's not far at all.
  16. My contribution to the Lumen Love fest.
  17. This is the off-the-shelf railcar you are referring to? Essentially what we see here is what we'll get in Cleveland?
  18. Fall 2020? That's pretty quick lol. Is that a typo?
  19. These are off-campus student housing apartments essentially. Similar to my apartment I had at Kent State University they pay rent per room, so a 4 bedroom at $1,000 per month is $4,000 per apartment. It's crazy.
  20. Does anyone know what this development is on Superior near I believe 21st
  21. Street view photo of the townhome development.
  22. I meant to post this progress pic of Axis on Ansel.
  23. This is about to sound like the most stereotypical American suggestion but with the financial situation with RTA would it be easier to run a paratransit sized bus from South Harbor station to the development? Another option is the trolley can loop down, stop and the South Harbor station, circle around the outlet and continue it's normal route back up. Saves RTA money that could go else where and transit riders are easily transported to the mall, especially useful in the winter.
