So first, great to hear there will be SOME retail presence at Tower city. I believe making Prospect avenue the target was a brilliant idea, those storefronts have always been underutilized (I've never seen them occupied, if they have idk by who) as well as the street itself. Second, in the story you said upstairs (Public Square level) would maintain retail inside of Tower City, but you named stores that are downstairs, would they possibly shift them? Also (I know it's speculation) but do you think T-Mobile stays as it's a technology company that recently remodeled their space. THIRD the store fronts located by the Ritz Carlton on Prospect, they don't look very large at all, what could possibly go there? My only though would be they knock walls down and make it two moderately sized storefronts like an AT&T and or Microsoft Store. The former Hard Rock Cafe space, although it's on Huron would make a great retail space as well. Across the street where the old Houlihans was located would make the PERFECT Apple Store and would be very popular due to it's transit access, accessibility from inside the mall and overall Downtown population. I'm overall excited again for this project!

Not a fan of the land use, rather had seen apartment or something more inclusive to everyone here but development is development. Progress is progress I guess, but I don't like the direction Midtown has headed so far, it feels like they don't have a cohesive vision of the neighborhood and are taking on whoever offers to move there, that's all I have to say on that.

A good thing for Beachwood Place to do is to create a type of hybrid that Polaris in Columbus did, a mini lifestyle center outside the mall. Heck even putting a Dave and Busters type venue would work since all of those type of venues (besides round 1) is on the west. Having large stores accessible from the outside like Polaris has with the Forever 21, Dave and Busters, etc. would add a different energy BUT could definitely hinder Legacy Village even more. It's tricky.

New York & Company is moving in the old J Crew space at Beachwood. I can't remember if they were already there and are relocating or just new there in general.

This color is what I expected it to be (I know it has protective film) when it got announced. It's funny how Stark owns this property but doesn't know how to properly "hide" his garage on NuCLEus. This garage should've been an example for all other garages in our busy areas.

Agreed but I feel like I read that the city had the concrete barriers up for "security reasons" and were going to replace them once they found a proper replacement. Three years later and nothing. Does anyone know if the city has ANY plans for a replacement, it's ugly and doesn't look good with all of these major events coming up.

The biggest fear I had when Public Square was redesigned was the bad track record Cleveland has for upkeep and maintenance of their public spaces. Public Square has been done for years now yet those concrete barriers are still an eyesore. For Cleveland's main and major public space it looks terrible for it to not have proper barriers that don't look thrown together.

I honestly was SHOCKED that they went with the color scheme they have now. Mainly due to the garage already being glass I assumed they'd keep that same scheme.

If these lakefront developments don't include retail then it's a waste. This is a one shot deal, gotta make it useable for all not a virtual gated community. Fingers crossed.

I can agree with that, on Ashbury with so many classic brick apartments, brick townhomes would have been much more appropriate here.

What surprises me about the direction Dan Gilbert seems to be heading. With all of these big events coming downtown (Indians ASG, Cavs ASG, Browns Draft etc.) in back to back years, beefing up the TC retail would be a no brainier, especially with Progressive Field and The Q attached.

Does anyone know what is going into the space next to Burger IM?

Victorias Secret, GNC, Bath and Body Works (leaves this upcoming April), FYE, Lids (For sports memorabilia) just to name some of the top of my head. They all have national name recognition and are all the top brands in their respective categories.

I honestly think a "Campus" of Mid Rise to High Rise buildings on the Warehouse District lots could be the best that the city could ask for. Density in an area that is void of it, reinvigorates and at the same time re-invents a neighborhood that is at a crossroads with identity, and could fit enough buildings to fix their issue with space. I'd rather have a development that can change the dynamic of an ENTIRE neighborhood (if done right) that a tall 900 ft skyscaper that plugs a hole and adds activity to a specific corner.

A two story development downtown in general is something I would be opposed to lol.

I don't see a problem with free parking. If people feel that it gets abused by people staying in one spot forever, then have a machine that prints out a time stamped slip to put in your window. Make it 2 hours max free parking, an extra hour cost you money. Parking meters on a side street is problematic.

They don't want more investment in the area at this time but if the neighborhood goes untouched and neglected they will complain their ass off. I hate the residents in this neighborhood (not all).

One of the cleaners that work in the mall (Take it with a grain of salt I guess), said it will be a space for guest services.

Some active construction going on in the large vacant storefront next to Footlocker. No coming soon sign so must be office space.
