Cleveland: University Circle: Uptown (UARD)
Fencing is now up for the parking lot by Euclid 115. I'm guessing the development is about to commence.

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
I would imagine so though because reading KJP's article, they are packed inside the 900,000 Sq. ft. landmark tower. Building a 900,000 Sq. Ft. tower and moving the landmark employees there would put them in the same situation. I would think they keep the Landmark employees where they are, move the suburban employees to the tower along with AT LEAST the R&D Valspar employees to Cleveland (unless they are here on Hinkley Pkwy.). I would guess they'd keep enough employees in Minneapolis for a regional HQ but have the new tower serve as a space for the suburban offices along with a good portion of the Valspar employees back in Minneapolis.

Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
Part of me wants to put a good part of the failure of Tower city on the lack of expansion of the rail system by RTA. If they would've expanded the LRT to Cleveland Heights, HRT to Euclid (around lakeshore) I believe it would've fared MUCH better. Imagine having a shopper not have to worry about driving, find parking and spend a certain amount of money to pay a minimum of $10 and instead buy a $5 all-day pass. The ridership would have boomed because expanding the HRT to Euclid on Lakeshore Blvd. you're reaching the St.Clair neighborhood, as well as the Cleveland portion of Lakeshore which is FILLED with apartments and is still in great shape and was better back in the '90s and early 2000s. Those areas also rely on transit a ton so using rail to get downtown would've been a no brainer and helped both the RTA and Tower City.

Wait if this gets built, will they bring the Valspar employees over?

Honestly, I hope that the JHB building could bring some of them over or another national clothing retail tenant to replace them. My fingers are crossed for that development, May Co, or Lumen.

Well, that's what I'm saying, I wish I would've read that a downtown development would have scooped Victoria Secrets up instead of they are flat out closing.

I sure wish some development downtown would've kept these national tenants downtown. TBH I am not a fan of this vision the more I think about it, I just hate going from some decent shopping downtown to virtually no shopping downtown.

We kind of have a similar outlook I was thinking no taller than 10-12 stories.

A mid-rise at best would look good in this spot something the size of the market plaza project or the EDGE that CSU has.

The St.Clair Demolition from 14500-14522 hurts the most that's an entire block.

So I spoke to councilman Conwell on the phone and he rode by the home when I told him about it. He said it isn't supposed to be on the demolition list and wants me to send him the address so he can have it removed. Problem is I can't find it in that list either.

I just don't understand how the city just throws away their unique architectural history. This building is in better shape than a lot of buildings that are getting renovation around the city. I wish they could've renovated it as apart of heritage lane or something.

Cleveland: Downtown: nuCLEus
I'm glad the alley is staying as apart of the redesign. It does look like it can be dated in a decade or so. I also enjoy the screen staying, gives a big city feel imo as well. Speaking of which I'm not too bummed out about the shorter tower when viewed from the Q it fits better and will fit better with the surrounding buildings. Interestingly enough they went with a glass design that matches the Q renovations, I wonder if that is just for the renderings or that is what it will truly look like. https://www.cleveland.com/business/2019/03/new-nucleus-plan-is-scaled-back-version-of-original-design.html

Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
Side question. If Google were to actually be the big tenant in this Tower City development, I wonder if they would open one of their physical Google stores inside the mall or directly outside.

Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
Agreed, kind of bittersweet. It's great that there will be a second, THIRD life with potentially NEW workers down there leading to potentially an increase in downtown activity. In a perfect world, I'd hope at least some of the existing national retail that leaves inside the mall will make their way to the vastly underutilized shops on Prospect. In unison with the rumored streetscape that is more pedestrian friendly, I feel that would be a home run.

Are you able to say if we are going to find out soon?
-
Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
I wouldn''t mind if the mall itself turned into a tech hub. What would have to happen for me is the retail shops on Prospect that are connected to tower city to be filled with at least the existing national retail inside the mall (T-mobile, Victoria Secret, Brooks Brothers etc.) I feel like they would perform much better as well.
