  1. I just wanna know is it going to be built up to the street. That rendering worries me.
  2. That rendering is ugh. Is that built up to the street? That looks like it has some sort of cul de sac.
  3. But the 50-70s was arguably the WORST time when it came to architecture lol.
  4. Google Pay adds support for transit tickets in Las Vegas, more cities coming soon Starting today, Google Pay is gaining support for transit tickets and passes for the Las Vegas Monorail. This means you can now purchase your ticket online, save it to the Google Pay app, and hold your phone near the fare gate to pay. You don’t even need to open the app to make the payment go through. Here’s how to set it up: make sure you’re running the latest version of the Google Pay app, purchase a ticket on the Las Vegas Monorail website, then save it to the app. Then, simply hold your phone near the fare gate where you’d normally swipe your ticket. You’ll see a check mark on your phone, signaling that the transaction when through. https://www.androidauthority.com/google-pay-transit-846866/ I think this would be a good idea for RTA to hop on as well. It would be a lot quicker to pick up steam and easier for people to use than the (still to yet arrive) smart card. Mobile payment technology is built in to majority of new phones now and is growing and Google Pay is the standard mobile payment for ALL Android phones. Plus it seems pretty simple to use.
  5. #1. That video saddens me #2. It's AMAZING how we had a prime example of how to have a proper transit system especially TOD, in our own backyard and all of a sudden we treat it as if it's rocket science.
  6. The Clinic is awful for the city in terms of development. Everything they build are virtual dead zones after 5:00
  7. I've been thinking about how Cleveland could regionalize. We could do a hybrid borough system. Split the 50+ municipalities into 5 "boroughs", calling them; North Cleveland, East Cleveland, West Cleveland, South Cleveland and Cleveland. To start, the mayors of the largest suburbs could be the presidents of those boroughs to start off, with the smaller town mayors being council members of those boroughs. The boroughs would contain 10-12 towns, villages, cities etc based of their location in the county. Northern suburbs would be North Cleveland etc. This is an idea to condense the county while not fully taking too much power (ego) away from existing mayors etc. The county DESPERATELY needs something like this to happen, with the population shrink it's unrealistic to think that we can prosper with this current over saturation of municipalities. I know it isn't perfect but it is a start. I honestly thought of this in 5 minutes lol.
  8. Was the "recognizable player" perhaps Danny Shelton? If so, that trade was eh.
  9. JARVIS LANDRY!!!!!!!
  10. The new UC3 development across the street will hopefully rectify this. Hopefully because right next to this development is where UC begins to tail off a the Cleveland Clinic/Suburban effect takes hold. Interestingly enough if you really pay attention, UC is split into three areas; Arts, Medical and now Uptown. I feel like if we want to see the mixed used, Uptown style development, it's going to be east of Uptown under the bridge going toward Lakeview Cemetery.
  11. I genuinely enjoy how HUGE this project feels when you both look at it as well as when you walk past it.
  12. I wish this had some sort of retail on the ground floor. This stretch could use this type of activity.
  13. New Bedrock Cleveland Vice President Ken Till says Tower City's future is his top priority CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Bedrock, the owner of high-profile downtown Cleveland properties including the Avenue shopping mall at Tower City, the May Co. building on Public Square and the Ritz-Carlton Cleveland hotel, has hired Ken Till as a vice president of development responsible for the Detroit-based company's projects here. Ken Till is Bedrock's new vice president of development for Cleveland. Bedrock Till, who is 53, joined Bedrock last month. He's the company's first executive on the ground in Cleveland, where Bedrock and its affiliates - all part of the Quicken Loans family of businesses - have established a major foothold in the center city. During an interview Tuesday, Till said revitalizing the vacancy-plagued mall at Tower City tops his to-do list. "We're putting together a team to aggressively pursue that project," he said, though he wouldn't discuss the details. http://realestate.cleveland.com/realestate-news/2018/02/new_bedrock_cleveland_vice_pre.html#incart_river_home
  14. Wait why can't they strike a deal with Stark? I'm sure that would be a great shot in the arm to that project, reinforcing its legitimacy and hopefully getting it off the ground. Sure they wouldn't technically own the building but if they are OK with moving into other spaces, obtaining naming rights to the building would be a good consolation prize.
  15. I really want to like the Innova project from a design standpoint but I hate how separated it feels from the actual street. Instead of interacting with the street that "buffer" that they created with the trees and small parking lot really makes it feel like its own separate community. Plus the colors are meh, the street interaction or lack thereof annoy me the most though.
  16. Nice, the locally owned neighborhood joint, Dominos (Duh-mee-nose) Delete.
  17. Sooooooo it's like a regular bus now.
