They already did; Froniter cut CLT, PHL, LAX, SFO, IAH, and ATL last year, all huge hubs for the US3 carriers which responded and made sure to keep Frontier off of the routes.

I would be shocked if Aer Lingus or maybe NAX weren’t flying to CLE by 2019.

Wow, that's huge for CMH...CVG already has Delta to SEA, leaving CLE in need of a year-round, daily option to SEA; UA is a possibility...but Columbus hasn't had the same momentum that CLE and Cincy have had, and are still lacking a TATL, so solid add!

Now that HOU just made the WCF (insane game by CP3) they’re predicting the Rockets have an 80% of making the Finals...really? I’d say CLE in 5 or 6, maybe 7. Houston has no experience in the Finals. I saw somewhere that LBJ has 27% shooting in the last five minutes of close games in the Finals. LeBron and the Cavs have made a ton of consecutive finals, putting them in elite company. No surprise, but if the Cavs beat the Celtics, LeBron would be the only player to lead two teams to Conference Champion four-peats! Who knows, maybe the Rockets’ lack of experience there will lead to bad shooting/unpreparedness...

Out of Delta’s 862 aircraft currently in their fleet, over 500 are 757s, 767s, A320s, and MD80/717. Combined this nearly 3/4 of their fleet is around 20 years old, with some reaching up to 30. They are shifting their fleet to newer models and will soon retire the oldies but mechanical problems are actually quite common on Delta considering it has one of the oldest fleets in the US.

After these multiple incidents in such a short time period, many are reluctant to fly an airline they’ve flown before and others are “never flying Southwest again”. I heard that CLE-MKE bookings have gone down quite a bit, but that is to be expected across the board. Southwest is predicted to recover from this unfortunate string of events and loss trust. I’m not worried about thier maintenance, as this seems like bad luck & coincedence. Southwest is the world’s 3rd largest airline by passengers carried (4th in fleet size), and carried a significantly larger amount than United! They’ve been around since 1971 and have been a major airline for over 30-35 years, yet only three have been killed in SWA-related incidents. One died during an attempt to break into the cockpit, another from being in a car when a SWA flight slid off the runway, so this recent tragedy could be argued to first actual death of Southwest related to the aircraft’s issues directly causing it. Their Wikipedia page doesn’t even have a section for “accidents” which they’ve never had in their history, only some incidents.

Good point. I’m sure they did. But nevertheless, there will be high LF’s mostly on outbound flights.

Oh, and 196 passengers the first outbound flight! Now that's a route you wouldn't want to be kicked off when it's overbooked...although you may be able to get upgraded to Icelandair...

It may have only been half full, but as we know, CLE is under-advertised, and as of now not may Europeans are looking for cheap fares to CLE. But WOW Air is working on comprehensive travel guides for their destinations throughout this summer. Destination Cleveland is promoting Cleveland as a global...well, destination! And there were [at least] several European travel writers onboard in Cleveland right now. Additionally, the route is likely going to attract mainly NE Ohioans looking for cheap vacations. Inbound flights will start filling up as more and more travelers return from their European travels.

The WOW Air inaugural just arrived. They had a nice water cannon salute as it taxied to its gate. Here’s to CLE’s next chapter of expansion!
