    Very nice!
  2. It was fun. Sorry W 28th but after 3 Great Lakes and 2 La Fin Du Mondes and no food all day, I don't think I would have made it to 10pm  Anyways, monthly meets sound cool!

Uncle Radio, I intended that to be Leveque--I chose PNC/Central Trust for Cincy to add some diversity to the skyline but if you see it as Carew, that's cool too. With the exception of 1 or 2 buildings, I was hoping to allow each city to mold this generic skyline to fit their own. They happy Ohio thing is kinda cute. Does anyone else think of PeeWee's Playhouse?! LOL It could dress up for each holiday!

CLE has Terminal Tower, Cbus has Leveque, Cincy has the PNC building, and the others are w/e our hearts desire. Honestly, TT is the only Cleveland one I represented--intentionally. Wow, I'm suprised no one liked the magenta (must have been the tie I was wearing that put me in the magenta mood)... I thought it looked fresh. I'll try some other colors later.
  5. good news indeed but I REALLY can't wait until the day that there are soo many cranes in the city, we won't need to make news about a petite 10 story building. ANYWAYS...let the construction begin!!!

thanks for the input everyone! I'll make the texts clearer. The triangles on the lower part of the flags are actually a bridge-sort of like a negative space game. every city in Ohio has bridges so no one feels left out!

here are a 2 I made. The flag/skyline one can be customized if necessary. There's the classic red, white, and blue, timeless b/w, and the purple/grey one that represents the diversity of our state. It abstracts the flag a bit, de-emphasizing the rural associations with ohio. the dot one is a bit more euro?-for lack of a better word...highlighted are the major urban areas of the state in addition to our 2 amazing bodies of H2O. Anyways, let me know what you think...
  8. That ODOT picture is scary! I'd rather have them burn $1 billion than waste it building that!

I don't think we can have a specific skyline. No offense, but all metros in the state have buildings that can pass with a generic rectangle, plus throw in a few signature/obvious buildings that indicate ohio.
  10. We don't have traffic in this city! Really we DON'T! Once in a blue moon there's traffic but even during a huge blizzard in the middle of rush hour right before Xmas a few years ago, it only took me 1.25 hours to get to B'wick from downtown. It takes 1.25 hrs to get for the Loop to O'hare just about everyday during rush hour-in sunny weather! Anyways, I like Mayday's diet analogy. If your pants are tight, exercise and watch what you eat--that's the longterm but HEALTHY solution. Don't buy bigger sizes and take the EASY way out which will lead to more problems in the end. You'll end up looking like sh*t! Also, people out in Lake, Lorain, Ashtabula, BFE counties realize they're not a hop, skip, and a jump to downtown. We need better public transportation to not only preserve, but allow the central core to grow and provide a high quality of life for its citizens--not to make a 50 min. commute a 35 min. commute. One more thing...I love how the 'experts' predict gridlock/ LA style traffic by 2030 for the area yet are predicting Cleveland proper to have a population of 432 people (or some ridiculous number like that)... I guess Cleveland will be to Westlake/Avon what Gary is to Chicago?! Give me a break!

    combining!

I'm in the process of combing the flag and a silhouetted skyline. I was sidetracked by Unibroue last night so give me an extra day or so...
  13. How many extra rides can be attributed to the Cavs season running through mid-June? It was a nice coincidence to have a lot of dual games going on at Gateway this spring.
  14. If Cleveland was really pretending to be Chicago, we'd probably see a few cranes in the sky right now... Oh, and a Lorain AND Akron commuter rail!
  15. I'd love to help!
  16. oh just for clarification so i'm not banned from UO for a month, I have no intention of applying to Teavana, just thought I'd let you know it's coming-or at least craigslist says it is-since this is the retail thread
  17. Anyways... I was looking for a side job on craigslist and found that Teavana is opening at Beachwood place. Now I know the Westside Market has a great tea and coffee stand but nonetheless, Teavana smells sooooo good inside! Oh, and Moko is a new cafe opening up at 1505 Euclid next to the Chinese restaurant at PHS. It'd be nice to get a job at Moko since it's a 2 min. walk from my full time job. Oh, and apparently a NY chef is opening a new restaurant in OC soon. Anyways back on topic to our clothes preferences!

  19. I've been meaning to mention this but I love the RTA advertisements on the trains saying, "Thank you for being 1 of 200,000 security personnel who take to the streets every day..." or something like that. Granted 200,000 isn't much compared to other cities but it's more than 10% of cuyahoga county.
  20. Well I guess this is a lose/lose situation here... If we're going to use the coordination of the ECP and a hypothetical 515 or w/e tower as an reason not to build now, then the brand new Euclid Ave. will continue to remain user-unfriendly with construction equipment for new projects. E. 4th St. didn't stall during this construction. Maybe we need to outsource to a Chicago contractor to coordinate things since a miniscule 20 story building here would appear to prolong the ECP even longer  W/E, no sense complaining here.
  21. doesn't matter to me!
  22. Good Lord people... Cleveland is the only city with crime, huh  Yeah it sucks that her car was robbed but the title of the article is hardly fitting.
  23. EXACTLY!!!!!!!   We all know that's what EVERYONE AND THEIR MOTHERS-including some UO people are going to say! People are going to look at this as a waste of time and money! As much as we all love Cleveland, even I'm skeptical of seeing the rate of construction downtown that has occurred in Chicago's South Loop during the past 3-5 years. Our developers better get their derrieres in motion soon!
