  1. /\ exactly. Why are there maps that appear to be from 1980 next to maps from 1999 and 2003? They even include travel times btw. stations. Again, more importantly, why must there be such a huge stagger in replacing maps with the most recent HL additions? And why isn't it online yet?! :? seriously...
  2. Someone must have been really sick? Although I read somewhere that they headed off to DC afterwards for a conference? Nonetheless unreal pic!
  3. On a lighter note, there were 3 UAE jets at Hopkins on Saturday. 2 747s and one 737 Business Jet. One 747 was parked off to the side near the large hangar at A concourse and the other 2 jets were parked at the Concourse A int'l gates. It looked so cool! For a minute, especially if you were on a layover at CLE, you'd have thought we were a hub for some Middle Eastern airline! I was driving down 71 to Wooster when I looked over and almost crashed!!! http://www.opshots.net/ check out this site for cool photos!
  4. I disagree...Euclid Avenue does not need any more 9-5 government/financial institutions taking up prime storefront/street level spaces.
  5. Some rapid trains have new rapid route maps w/ the Healthline...Some, not all. I really wish the trains would have the same maps as some may have 4 different maps spanning decades posted in a rather haphazard manner in 4 different layouts. Granted this isn't a life or death issue but really...some coordination would go a long way maintaining clarity and sense of professionalism within the authority. Oh, and the website map still isn't updated...Most people probably would never notice this kind of stuff but our system is rather compact so we need to pay attention to little details.

Aside from SW and other fellow low-fare carriers being able to set up at CVG, how can losing a hub of one of the world's largest airlines NOT be a bad thing? Certainly it's not the end of the world for greater Cincy but it's NOT a good thing!

yes, it will be fun tonight! G-money, one of my dearest friends in CLE will be the maitresse d' of the evening! I am the host with the "funky" glasses and I hope to see a lot of you there! Oh, last time I checked we have GL Xmas Ale, Corsendonk Xmas Ale, and Delirium Noel on draft!
  8. Very cool indeed! I was hoping they did that Monday/Tuesday and even "VOTE" on 200 PS but nonetheless, nice gesture!
  9. Very true! NONE of them have a Cakes Royale! :-)
  10. TEARS OF JOY! :-)
  11. As far as filling in Euclid Ave goes... This may be a great opportunity to re-program the city's most important street. It's a shame that a large portion of Euclid is occupied by the bank where activity is confined from 8-5, 5 days/wk--and that activity is at its peak on lunch hour smoke breaks. Between the NCC frontage from E6-E9, the Schofield building, 668, the abandoned parking lot that's equally embarrassing as the PS parking lots, and ALL of Euclid east of E9, the city has a great chance to turn downtown into a self-sustaining neighborhood...actually a DESTINATION!!! Any retail/hotel/residential development happening between E9 and CSU could be linked all the way to the WHD.
  12. looks like being "literally" in Chicago's shadow can be a good thing! Very nice pictures! I've been to Milwaukee once in January for a studio field trip and I thought it was a nice, cute city. I'm sure Summer/Fall are even better!
  13. Not to get too theoretical but what really is the "American family" today? If AFA represents the ideal/typical/etc. "American family", thank God I will have no part in that! On a happy note! Could you imagine if we get these games?! Granted we'll need to step things up a notch downtown and in adjacent neighborhoods (ie, shopping, hotels, things that you all have mentioned previously) but 2013 is the Senior Games followed by these games?! That's a lot of exposure at a time when Cleveland will hopefully be hitting its stride and novelty of the Nashvilles and such will have passed. In the meantime, I need to boycott [email protected] :-P
  14. Ridiculous-in a good way!
  15. CSU/MLS/St. Ignatius/NCAA Final Four adaptable stadium! The Cleveland State University!
  16. ok, I love the Healthline and just like Gateway, I think will become an important case study for urban re-development. One cosmetic question/concern: Portions of Euclid around University Circle appear to be made with a rather poor looking asphalt. With the grand opening 1 week away, it appears as though that will be the final product. It does not look good.
  17. I'm sure/I hope that those involved with researching bird migration, etc. realize that it's nearly 2009 and that many case studies exist concerning risks of turbines in large bodies of water. From bird migration to cargo ship paths, disrupting habitats in the sea/lake bed to noise issues, this has already been researched in some form or another. While there may be some unique instances involving Lake Erie, I hope to God that most involved/concerned know that other parts of the world have embraced this technology and we don't need to reinvent some wheel to get this moving forward. There's 6 billion people on this planet...obviously the human race impacts other environments but this is an attempt to be as responsible/respectful as possible. This new industry/technology excites me more than anything else going on in this city/region!
  18. WARNING YOU MAY VOMIT IF YOU CLICK THIS LINK! I ALMOST DID! :x http://www.cleveland.com/discoverbrunswick/
  19. The double-decker busses seem like a no brainer on the park-n-ride commuter bus lines! Even if it's too much $ to increase frequency, there's twice the capacity!
  20. do you really want to see it?... :|

One stop on the Redline or my choice of 5 different busses to PS and a nice stroll to Playhouse Square. 99% of the time, it's great!
  22. Did I dream that La Strada's market will sell gelato? Please say it was real!
  23. Ohio City is a great, cheaper alternative to downtown with at least 1/2 dozen bus lines and the Rapid providing rather frequent connections to downtown and points beyond. There are dozens of food/drink establishments w/in walking distance, not to mention a Dave's supermarket, the Westside Market, numerous banks and other services. I've been here for 15 months and love it! I don't even have a car! As is the case in just about all of Cleveland, you are w/in stumbling distance of many fine places!
