  1. It's restricted for me to read..any details as to why it's on hold?
  2. I'm so happy to see a once, "meh" looking building, transform back to it's original historic gem 💎
  3. I'd like to know how they stayed in business for as long as they did.
  4. Does anyone have a rendering of what this building used to look like before the remodel of the exterior?
  5. I believe they closed their downtown loveland location not too long ago as well. I'm still curious how some of these resturaunts survive, especially with high rents and low traffic during covid restrictions/sport shutdowns. I imagine these establishments that are still operating are hanging on by a thread at this point.
  6. https://wearewalnuthills.org/johnston-park-schematic-design/ I wasn't sure where to post this, because it's technically in walnut hills but also creating a connection with downtown/pendleton. A new park is being planned next to the new Cincinnati ballet building and it looks pretty impressive. It's supposedly will be an art gateway park with interactive sculptures/food trucks/pedestrian plaza, and they will turn the adjacent rail road bridge and make that a pedestrian walkway to connect to downtown/pendleton. Very interesting development to say the least. Could do wonders for connecting the 2 areas.

Which mayor candidate running is the best candidate for development/historic preservation/Urban advancement/race relations?
  8. This would actually be really neat to see in the west end next to the fcc stadium. I don't think there is any historic board in that particular area which would object to a building that's 15 stories. I could definitely see fcc being interested in adding a 15 story luxery brand hotel that's directly adjacent to the stadium for players/coaching staff and visiting fans to utilize with ground floor bars/Clubs and restaurants.
  9. I'm a little confused why tri county is faltering. The traffic in that area is quite large and their is large population density that surrounds the mall. It seems on paper that their is enough people living nearby to support this mall?
  10. I don't miss my commute whatsoever. I don't miss the mind numbing boredom of morning and afternoon rush hour traffic. I don't miss running late to work because of a traffic accident and feeling anxiety and pressure walking into work late. I don't miss freezing my ass off during the cold winter months waiting for my car to warm up before and after work. I don't miss losing an extra hour of sleep just so I can take a shower, brush my teeth, and put my button down and silky suit pants on, just so I can look presentable for the higher ups who most likely don't even know my name, not even care about me whatsoever. I don't miss feeling anxiety when I walk past my bosses desk, or see the higher up senior management walk by in the cafeteria. I don't miss feeling pressure by my boss and his micromanagement (his desk was only a few rows behind my cubicle and would constantly, "check up" on us to see what we were doing. I don't miss spending 10-15 dollars per day on lunch/snacks/drinks during my work day. I don't miss spending the extra money on gas for the commute. I don't really miss the small talk with my co-workers who are small talking for the sake of small talking. The only thing I miss are some of the events we had at work, and some of my genuine co-worker friends that I had in my department. Working from home isn't perfect for everyone (especially if you have little kids and can't block the noise out, or have trouble focusing on your job duties).. With that said, I would find it difficult to transition back to the mundane grey office cubicle. I'm always on time since their are no traffic accidents. I'm always saving money since I can just cook/microwave something quick from the fridge. Don't have to spend money on Starbucks or coffee shops either since I buy a 12 dollar bill folgers from Costco and it lasts me 3 months. Don't have to spend extra money on gas or new suits. Never feel anxious about seeing my supervisors. I never feel micromanaged anymore. Plus, if I am having a rough day I can open a case of beer and not feel judged. The pro's just severely out weight the cons for me at this point. I personally hated working from home the first few months. It was really lonely and isolating. But when you realize how much time you save in the morning/afternoon, and how much money you ultimately save in the process than it definitely shines a whole new light to the experience and outcome.
  11. I'm still concerned that remote working will remain a permanent fixture for a majority of companies and their office workers. It's almost been a year now of remote working for alot of companies and many have found that it's been rather successful for their business and their employees. Not to mentioned that when you don't have to pay the electricity bill, water bill, cafe staff, janitorial contracts, receptionists, security guards, police detail, parking lot maintenance etc that you end up saving quite a bit of money in the long run.
  12. With all the construction going down on court street with many office workers still working remotely I am genuinely curious how any of the remaining small businesses on court street are surviving.
  13. Why does it feel like mt. Auburn is in this akward state of development and non development. It's squeezed between otr and uc and you would think with how much the demand has been for otr/uc, that this would be a no brainier for developers. It's smack dab next to a huge hospital (christ) with doctors and nurses that make huge salaries. You would think, logically that their would be interest in working close to home and that developers would push on this aspect..but I'm not sure why these aren't the major tenants of the housing around mt auburn, but rather extreme poverty residents who can barely make ends meet. It's rather strange and I don't really understand it.
  14. I noticed that 1201 Jackson Street is on the latest hcb packet for renovations including a roof top deck. I'm curious what they will do with this building as I don't believe their are retail tenants on the ground floor level..not sure if the rest of the building is occupied either.
  15. Sounds like the perfect set up for a ghost tale
