  1. I think that one is dead. I'm not sure why it's so hard to get a food hall set up in Findley market? You would think the bustling food Entrepreneurs would make it a great dream come true to get a start at a small set up in a food hall. .
  2. I would disagree. Kroger food hall is great but I would love smaller stalls that try more experiential/ethnic food options. Kroger food stall is kind of generic imo...very safe food, nothing that jumps out and makes you go woah...
  3. Spruce Nail Shop is expanding and moving out of their small Vine Street location and into 1818 race street and expect to hire 30 plus people. They arent taking all of 1818 race but is the Hickory Wald Food Hall Concept still a go? I really hope that's still in the works...
  4. A Developer is going to the HCB for construction of a single family home at 529 Danridge Street in Pendelton. Looking at Google maps it looks like a pretty big lot so I'm curious how much of that land is part of that particular parcel?
  5. Heritage Bank have ant presence HQ wise downtown or office jobs? Wonder if they might play a bigger role soon if not?
  6. So I was at Findley market today, and I haven't really gone their in a while for whatever reason but today I did. Has the idea of extending the market through the Findley market surface lots ever come up? Maybe it's just me, but the market itself is good but really small in comparison to other peer city markets. It's basically one longish hallway with quite a bit of empty vending space with alot of the vendors selling similar stuff. Sure there are other vendors in the Italianatte buildings across from the indoor segment but it seems almost disjointed..like there is no real flow so to speak. I think it would be really interesting if they could extend the market and build another canopy indoor market space that is like a 2nd extension... The area is cool and the architecture and art that surround the area is cool, but there is something really lackluster about the experience as a whole. Not sure why...not bad, not good, just not a really exciting market compared to some other city urban farmer markets.
  7. Does anyone know why the artist rendering includes a guy hanging off the balcony in the lower right corner?
  8. I mean what is it like for banks residents who live above any of the number of bars/clubs there? Tin roof, Jefferson Social, Fishbowl, The Stretch, Galla Park, Holy Grail all have DJs/Open Windows/Open Garage doors that play blasting music during the warmer months.
  9. I'd say it's the perks of living in an entertainment district. I think most people who find otr as a desirable place to live are probably single men/women or young couples who go out drinking 3-4 times a night. I don't think anyone would ever consider otr as a quiet community and probably wouldn't want that anyways.
  10. I believe it was a quote from Berding/FCC in one of the WCPO/Cincinnati articles, hence how it was originally brought up. The team said they want the ballet site corner for a mixed use structure specifically with structured parking.
  11. Nope, mixed use development with a structured parking component. Not a surface lot.
  12. O Pie O is opening a 2nd location in OTR in the recently renovated Columbia Building by 3CDC. It will be in proximity to 16 bit/Longfellows/Homemakers Bar etc.
  13. Hes about to leave office soon though...why does he care so much? Is he that bored with day to day real important city politics that he has to continue to entertain himself with his new favorite pet monkey? I think he might have a personality disorder and obsessive compulsion disorser. Seems very odd and he should probably seek help.
  14. Does john cranley have a mental disorder? I'm being serious.
  15. Oh no! Where will the otr live people illegally park free and throw their empty beer cans and cigarello wrappers now!
  16. Cincinnati Planning Commission and then City Council. It will probably go through since city council already approved a music venue to go on that lot. There objection was about the hilltop relocation, but since that's not part of the equation anymore council will probably approve the zoning change that was needed regardless.
  17. I think unique destination's can help alleviate that problem. For instance, I would love a comedy club style resturaunt..something small and intimate like go bananas. Cincinnati doesn't have any dedicated comedy style clubs in downtown. I think you need to look at the retail and make a list and see what the urban core has an abundance of and what the urban core still needs. I think unique, original concepts is what has been helping 3cdc alot with maintaining a good track record of filling retail space and keeping them filled.
  18. Interesting share more!
  19. Disagreed. 3cdc wants different concepts but that doesn't mean no more resturaunt/bars. For instance, the recently announced Jazz Lounge in the 3cdc Behlen Building is a good example of this. 3cdc targets resturaunts/bar that differ from one another instead of carbon copies and I think this is a method that works well for them and I think it's something downtown can still use more of. We definitely have more room for different types of ethnic resturaunts/conceptual bars/clubs that push for a more multi level Las Vegas feel, etc...I think 3cdc knows this, and this is what ultimately 3cdc targets.
  20. http://www.cushmanwakefield.com/properties/r88758-1 They were listing 3 spaces (now with the book store closing 4). There is only 1 space remaining according to the listing page..I'm guessing they have signed tenants already. I'm guessing 3cdc will want to announce something when all the commercial spaces are fully leased including the office space instead of staggering them out. I get it, but still somewhat shocked it had to take this long for it to happen.
  21. I've seen this before...confused why they can't fill the retail space in the mean time? Its baffling they are choosing to wait for an office tenant and let these spaces just stay inactive in the mean time. Especially since it seems like they aren't doing enhancements to the building that will compromise any of the new retail tenants day to day business.
  22. https://www.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/news/2019/10/30/fountain-square-retailer-to-close.html?iana=hpmvp_cinci_news_headline Statment by 3cdc...again confused by their statement of working on a developement plan for several month and then say... So the development plan is to just fill the space again? That's what has taken 3cdc months to develop in terms of a development plan? What? So confusing... Especially since 3cdc is usually pretty good with turn around time for finding new tenants and filling commercial spaces up again. Is this being held up because of the office element above the fountain place store? I'm assuming there will be no crazy new tower and have to assume that's what it is...but I don't get why that would delay filling these vacant spaces that have been sitting dormant gathering dust for almost a year now.
  23. Fountain Square Book store located in the Macy store will close. Owner stated lack of business development there https://www.cincinnati.com/story/money/2019/10/30/fountain-square-book-store-close/4096327002/ So when will 3cdc actually go ahead and announce something? If there not building a tower and just leasing the spaces out than why the hell is it taking so long to reactivate such a critical corner of downtown? I'm so confused...
  24. What's the history behind this? They are a very close neighborhood to downtown cincy, so what exactly causes the despise? A part of me wonder if at one point it was fueled by racism and segregation?
  25. There were cars parked their Friday night. Any clue why? I'm guessing they were illegally park?
