Cincinnati: Fountain Square: Development and News
So are the suburban public schools just better funded like Mason/Sycamore and thus they are more successfu If that's the case, why doesn't the city/Hamilton county divert more money to the public schools rather than millions of dollars to developers?

Cincinnati: Fountain Square: Development and News
So if Hamilton County/City of Cincinnati care so much about facilitating growth and diversity than why isn't the number 1 priority now to fix the public school systems downtown so we can usher in new families and immigrants to the urban core?

The 3c's Cost of Urban Living
https://www.wcpo.com/news/local-news/hamilton-county/cincinnati/new-study-reveals-downtown-otr-and-other-cincy-neighborhoods-have-highest-rent-in-ohio Thought this was interesting. Had no idea Downtown Cincinnati/Over the Rhine was the most expensive rent prices in all of Ohio.

Cincinnati: Fountain Square: Development and News
I feel like IT workers are the perfect type of workers that you can hope sway to live downtown. Large salaries mean they could easily afford much of the real estate options downtown/otr and most of the workers tend to be foreign from India/Europe/Asia, etc and bring much sought after diversity that every large city has. What's interesting is that many of them take the metro bus from the suburbs like from Olde Montgomery next to Bethesda North Hospital and use it to get downtown. What's interesting is that when I've talked to some of these folks, they admitted that they only had 1 car for their families, and we're looking to save money rather than add expenses like paying for a second car + Gas/Maintenance, etc. If that's the case let's move them downtown! Foreign people, especially who just recently moved to America love public transport accessibility because many of them did not have cars in their home cities. So why are they sticking to the damn suburbs when they could live downtown? It could be a great opportunity and hopefully this could add a new wave of immigrants living downtown.

Cleveland: Crime & Safety Discussion
Look I apologise for my strong language. It's one thing to hear when someone is shot to death because of drug related violence, an angry dispute, etc. By an large most shooters know the victim to some extent. But when it's a random stranger who was doing his job to earn a paycheck to support himself and gets brutally shot is just so horrible to hear. Violence by and large is brought by childhood/teenage trauma. No one wants to inheritely cause pain and suffering to others unless onset by a genetical psychological disorder (which is a different matter all together). I just think of these residents and have to stop and think how much pain and suffering they have experienced and it makes me want to cry. These shooters were once happy, smiling, laughing babies and there environment has ultimately damaged them to hell and back and it just makes me want to breakdown because I can honestly feel the pain, the suffering, the hurt. So much damn hurt...and what can we do to help? Pretty much nothing. So the pain and suffering will continue for them, and their babies. A never ending cycle.

Do you know who the office tenant might be? Is it a company already located downtown that is expanding their work force? Or is a greater cincinnati/out of state company moving to the CBD?

Cleveland: Crime & Safety Discussion
Jesus...every city has a bad neighborhood with segregated poor residents but why do these residents have to be poor AND so violent? Especially to strangers like a damn UPS driver, who was probably minding his own business and just doing his job to earn a paycheck? This is beyond disturbing and I can't imagine what kind of tar pit and hell east Cleveland is. Screw Mexico, build a wall around east Cleveland. The residents there are the true savages.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Convention Center / Hotel
Hamilton County is OBSESSED with this project. To them the convention hotel and convention expansion is probably their number 1 priority hands down. The timeline will probably be VERY aggressive. Unlike the music Venue project, I imagine City officials, the mayor, and Hamilton County are both in the same mindset that this NEEDS to happen as quickly as possible.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Convention Center / Hotel
Current rumors are staying they are going for the 1,000 room option with the convention expansion. I'm not sure how many stories this will result for the hotel tower to be.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Convention Center / Hotel
I've heard that 3cdc/,the county/city are pretty keen on wanting to create more vibrancy around the convention hotel because hoe strong of an entry gate for many outside tourists coming to Cincy for the first time and they aren't happy with the current first impressions that it gives of the city.

With all the parking garages coming in place (downtown Kroger, this new sycamore project, 4th and race garage, etc) who the hell is still parking on these surface lots? They are so insecure and anyone can easily do damage to your car for the fun of it.

They don't really beat each other in mobs in the middle of the street, busting cars in the process. Does this music attract a violent culture, full of suppressed rage.

I believe security or lack thereof was a major issue that played a role in that massacre. OTR Live attracts sh*t human beings. But that really applies to most, "Hip Hop/Rap" clubs...But is this a racist statement to say? What does this say about the black community if I can correlate X music with X type of people. It's sad.
-
Cincinnati: Pendleton: Development and News
I believe that is correct which is good because I would hate to see one mega development that have this continuous look. I'm sure if this development is successful, the developer will probably purchase the remaining lots in the future.

Cincinnati: Pendleton: Development and News
I have a hard time with this statement. It's Hip Hop/R&B club. The business owner used to run Mixx Ultralounge on 12th and Main. He also recently opened Copa OTR next door (25 year and older club) and Newport Ultra Lounge. He also helps organize alot of black focused community events like the taste of soul food festival on fountain square in July. He's a good guy and gives alot to the urban core community with his businesses and helps employee minority bar tenders/security guards. I think the reality of the situation is that OTR Live attracts a culture that unfortunately doesn't give 2 sh*ts about whether they brawl in the middle of the streets, or openly pregame at the sycamore lots, or throw all their trash like the environment around them is nothing but one large garbage bag. I wish this was addressed further and I know it's a controversial statement, but these clubs constantly attracts the wrong type of people, and it's unfortunate. Because otherwise, the lines stretch out to the Drinkery, they cater so much foot traffic to that stretch of otr, they bring a lot of "night life", but the people they attract are pure trash and need to go back to church.

Sycamore Township: Kenwood Towne Centre
What is this obsession with Saks? They charge $100 for a t-shirt. The average worker can't afford that. Doctors, Lawyers? Sure, but the average guy whose into fashion and works on am average salary can't nearly afford Saks..fashion should be accessible to everyone, not just the wealthy.

Yeah this is why I'm confused why Online Retail is such a "big thing"...besides the fact I've had countless porch pirate encounters who have stolen my packages, I've also dealt with trouble in returning my product and having the money returned within a reasonable time. Brick and Mortar retail is so simple, online can be so complicated and full of hassle... Another example is this, teenage girls go to Forever 21 to buy their cute outfit for their night out...It's spontaneous, spur of the moment. No one has time to wait for their online package to arrive. People who buy clothes are very spontaneous in nature. They want their clothes now, so they can wear it the next hour. They don't want to wait.
