  1. Any word when there will be any sort of announcement?
  2. Sorry wasnt even aware of this restaurant! Unless it's in a developed 3cdc building or located in otr, most resturaunts get very little coverage from local outlets.
  3. Honest question where will this trash end up now? Also why isn't littering enforced in Cincinnati. Have cameras target individuals and read their license plate information and have them pay for littering. Easy money! Don't have the money? Then spend a few days in jail so you don't do the crime again!
  4. Ah the court street Ethnic food district id beginning to emerge. Bridges- Cambodian Food Hopping Hog - Chinese Food Now let's get downtown an authentic ethnic Indian spot and Ethiopian spot! Let's go 3cdc you can do this!
  5. https://www.wcpo.com/amid-bankruptcy-filing-forever-21-plans-to-close-all-cincinnati-are-locations Kenwood Mall Forever 21 Closes...Huge blow. Forever was very packed most of the time and was very serviceable with the cheap prices. That location is huge as well. Super sad to see this happen...Say what you want about online retail, it sucks that you have to rely on buying clothes online, especially if you don't know if it will fit correctly or if you like the material being used. Plus porch pirates are still a huge thing. Clothes shopping is meant for brick and mortar not online.
  6. Why would this potentially prove challenging?
  7. City council just approved a 30 year tax abatement for this project at their last council meeting... So maybe that was the final hurddle the developer needed to go through in order to finally break ground?
  8. Because they are almost always negative and I get amusement about how people in Clermont County are so terrified of downtown. Apperantly even Jack Casino is shady and unsafe because of rampent agressive homeless crack addicts who sleep in the casino parking garage lol
  9. Maybe, but I still see kids wear hard Rock t-shirts (it was a hard Rock Detroit shirt I just recently saw) quite often... Also, Hard Rock was in the headlines for almost a month straight for there new Guitar Shaped FL hotel. Maybe the brand has diminished a bit since the early 90's, but I still think the brand as a whole still holds weight. Also, I remember when the Hard Rock Cafe in Cleveland closed. I remember quite a large number of members on urban ohio forum who were quoted as saying it was a huge blow to downtowns Cleveland dining scene...as many of them noted, it captured the interests of tourists even if it may not have been the best dining option in Cleveland.
  10. I can't wait to see the tears shed again from cbd workers when they see the parking lot torn up and fenced off. I can already hear the echoing complaints about how, "Cincinnati has no parking, how can they do such travesty!" Seriously though I'm beyond excited for this project. These sycamore lots have been eyesores for far to long and this will be a great first step towards repairing the urban tissue between Otr and Pendelton.
  11. Hopefully construction starts by the end of the year
  12. Again from a Reddit casino employee. Thoughts?
  13. I don't really see Hard Rock as a suburban oriented casino though...I might be off, but I've always seen hard Rock as an entertainment brand..there hotels have rooftop pools, clubs on the ground floor, there casinos are quality, and the hard Rock Cafe has always been associated with being a highly visited tourist city. I read alot of the Facebook comments and I was surprised by how many people were excited and how many comments were staying "Cincinnati finally made it". I feel like the isn't just a simple upgraded casino, but a premiere, internationally recognized entertainment brand. Probably the biggest brand to land in Cincy urban core since I've been alive.
  14. That would be amazing, but isn't this hotel located in FL which is Hard Rocks HQ location? Most of the hotels are sort of bland, squat and has some poppy hard Rock logo branding and colors. I am curious as to why most hard Rock casinos and hotels are typically in small random cities. Aside from Las Vegas/Vancouver the Hard Rock Brand doesn't really have a presence in bigger cities for whatever reason.
  15. Do we think that with the addition of Hard Rock investment in the casino property plus a hotel, that we will finally see investment around this area? Those lots have been their for such a long time...A part of me wonders if the jail puts a large smudge on developers who want to build Luxery condos but are afraid that this will deter those who don't want to live next to a jail.
  16. Some Reddit comments that stuck out... Also the bolded part was interesting Is this true? Does the casino have an option on the big parking lot across the casino?
  17. That still seems like alot money, unless they plan on doing a giant branded Hard Rock guitar off of 1-71 lol. I'm curious how much it would typically cost for the hard Rock hotel to be built, considering they already own the land.
  18. Any estimated date on when this will happen?
  19. I'm curious about this indoor theater as well? What area of the casino is this? And based off this article it does seem Hard Rock is pretty aggressive towards the desire of being the top dog in the Ohio casino race. I imagine a hotel would probably prove more beneficial towards that goal.
  20. https://www.cincinnati.com/restricted/?return=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cincinnati.com%2Fstory%2Fmoney%2F2019%2F09%2F30%2Fhard-rock-to-overhaul-jack-casino-by-spring-adding-hard-rock-cafe%2F3819999002%2F Headline mentions the hard Rock Cafe but im not sure if it talks about the hotel. ..anyone a subscriber and can talk about what the article says?
  21. I loved seeing the new foot traffic around court St... Outside of fountain/convention center on certain days, I've never seen a portion of the CBD so activated.
  22. So how long do y'all think it will take the 2nd massive parking crater to be developed down Walnut (the lot closest to the Cincinnati library)? I'm hoping the downtown Kroger store could offset the need for some of the surface parking, particularly on that lot and allow for an developer to be interested in doing a new mixed use residential tower.
  23. troeros replied to a post in a topic in City Discussion
Sorry to revive such an ancient thread, but it's crazy how precise this prediction was. 5 years exactly and now have a Kroger that sells gourmet cheese and wine downtown. Edit: Sorry 7 years if we count when it opened, but 5 yrs from when it was first announced.
  24. That's an AMAZING proposal
  25. Yeah, I'm a little confused about what the overall plan is with fountain place. I've heard so much hype and conflicting plans that I have no idea what to expect at this point. A part of me thinks that 3cdc has been a little hand tied because of projects like the Downtown Kroger Store, The Convention Hotel RFP, etc.. But I'm hoping we will get some clarity in the next month or 2. We are a few months shy from when 3cdc purchased fountain place. Its hard to imagine (assuming no towert) it takes such a long time for 3cdc to find commercial and office tenants in such a prominent location of downtown cincy.
