Wasnt the pier/dock approved for smale park as well?

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
I feel like the banks has been pretty aggressive with the music venue construction. Probably would've started sooner if it wasn't for the difficulty not relocating hilltop. I know the general rule of thumb is that construction projects are usually delayed considerably from the day of the initial announcement but I can't help but feel that the banks Committee/Hamilton county commissioners have some sort of desire to accelerate the pace of development in order to ensure that leasing occupancy rates remain high for the current businesses located at the banks... obviously adding office workers will help replenish sales for the banks resturaunts/planet fitness/other businesses, etc.

So assuming everything goes according to plan then fingers crossed for a potential 2020 ground breaking?

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
So are they going to have to wait to develop this office tower until they have an anchor office tenant? Or can they build it regardless without an immediate tenant?

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
Regarding point 2... weren't the other proposed music venues slated to be on a different lot that would have been slated for a much bigger mixed used development than a music venue? Regarding point 4, that land might still be developed since Skystar has stated they will move to a different location at the banks.

Cleveland: Downtown: Realife skyscraper
I feel like a large enough developer/investor would have the resources to hire a web editor who is proficient in translating Hebrew to English.

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
The banks is more condensed for bar hopping and parking is fairly convienent and straight forward as well compared to otr. I think the banks is at a really neat spot right now..I think if they get the music venue going, along with the future banks phases with more entertainment/retail options, continue to add on to smale river front park with the new boat pier, and the new larger and landscapes ferris wheel and all of sudden you have a legit 24 hour Destination (well as 24 hours as a Cincinnati neighborhood can get). It might sound stupid but the ferris wheel did alot for the banks and it's revival in popularity

This is exactly why people are cynical...the entire website looks like a Russian hackers phishing scam.

It might be just me but I feel like the popularity of the banks has grown in the past year

It's going to be quite entertaining to see how the pendelton community council handle the new retail developments and proposals that arise when the sycamore lots become developed...

Cincinnati: Downtown: Court Street Developments and News
Don't know if there is a thread dedicated to court street yet...But the new Bridges Nepali location opened yesterday and is also open till 3pm today... I stopped by yesterday and I've never seen a downtown resturaunt more packed. These owners know their stuff and really should consider hiring someone who could franchise locations throughout America. This has the potential to be the next ethnic, pf changs esq, level of popularity.

I feel like if this were to happen, this would be better suited to by next to Hard Rock Casino, by the large empty lots next to the casino. I feel like it would probably be in Hard Rocks best interest to sponsor the venue, especially with sports/e-sports gambling slowly becoming legalized. I could see maybe a small E-Sports area with a Hard Rock Hotel built on top, connected with a enclosed bridge over the 2 venues of the casino, and the arena/hotel.

I agree. That's why I said unlikely, but if someone had alot of money to blow and was passionate enough they could find a way.

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
I mean if we are being technical nothing is necessarily gone forever. If some REALLY wanted to, they could find a way to 3d model the Dennison hotel and use and replicate the archeticture through methods of 3d printing. The only difference would be the age of the bricks...but yeah, that would never happen in a million years, but if someone was avid and passionate enough to recreate the Dennison hotel detail for detail they very well technically could.

Just as an aside, there are more photos of the Meiners rehab on 3cdc Flickr account and I have to say the building looks incredibly beautiful with the addition of new windows and refurnishing it's brick facade. Its quickly becoming one of my favorite historic structures in otr.

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
Just assuming, but I'm going to throw a guess and say the Wielert Building (the green building) will ultimately be rehabbed once a final development plan comes together for the otr Kroger site. It's pretty obvious that 3cdc wants to do a much larger scale project, similar to the Mercer project, with development stretching from Vine to Walnut.

I'm guessing that the music venue is moving forward?

Cincinnati's Homeless Population
How do you even tally homeless people? I was under the impression that the homeless in San Francisco would travel in large caravan's and packs and would stay in San Francisco for maybe 6 months then travel to San Diego for the winter.

Cincinnati Brewery / Beer / Alcohol News
Blue sky, pie in the sky question... Not sure how much revenue Mad Tree generates each year, but I almost wonder if Rheingeist would ever buy Mad Tree out.

Cincinnati: Crime & Safety Discussion
Its not even about crime ..Its about the perception of crime. Say you were a 24 year old grad student who just landed a job at p and g or any other Downtown based company. Maybe the thought pops up of moving close to the urban core to cut commute times, plus because you enjoy Downtown night life offerings... Then a headline this appears about armed national guard troops guarding every street corner with a rifle by there side as if it's a 3rd world south American city. This makes you go nope, screw that I'd rather move to Oakley or pleasant ridge. Poverty breeds crime, and this is exactly what happens when your city is full of poor people and social services founded in the urban core. Sure crime happens everywhere, but crime is lessened when you have a massive influx of wealthy residents which pushes the poverty else where. Obviously we are urban centric on this forum.. we want our downtown and surrounding urban neighborhoods to succeed but you can't do this when so much of your downtown caters to the poor instead of the rich.

Cincinnati: Crime & Safety Discussion
https://www.cincinnati.com/story/news/politics/2019/07/23/joe-deters-mike-dewine-send-national-guard-cincinnati/1808836001/ This right here is why our city struggles with urban population growth. When you live in Mason or west Chester, never in a million years will you have to worry about your streets having to be patrolled by armed national guard troops with automatics to curb gangsters and violence. This is what happens after decades of centering all social services in the urban core...time to bring some of the services to blue Ash, Montgomery, mason. Spread the love!

3cdc owns the land... Plus there is so many pocket parks in otr already because of past demolition... Not to mention all of the parks like Washington and Ziegler, etc.
-
Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
Now further proof (as if we needed more) that the OTR Community Council are a bunch of clowns with fake metal badges that they bought at the dollar store... 3cdc wants to develop new infill at 1400 Race, where a garden now stands. 3cdc even offered to move the garden else where in otr but the otr cc objectifies it because it's been a garden for 30 years and thus should always stay a garden for eternity.....even though buildings used to stand there...go figure.

London is a huge outlier because of the massive influx of immigrants.... Many central and eastern European countries are more applicable because of the homogeneity. Our school system taught us that violence is wrong and tarnishes your character and your culture.Basically not only does it embarress you because it makes you a man child who doesn't have control, but also tarnishes your country and your family name. Maybe that's where it ties from? Heritage, family, values, pride of self and pride of your motherland?

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
From a philosophical standpoint I want to know where this rage stems from? For instance in Europe you will have poor people living in squaler and homes made from tents but they are not violent. Becoming violent is considered an act of making yourself a fool and someone who can control there temper... essentially a grown up child. In america, income inequality, breeds violence...and the violence is promoted in Americas backbone and culture. But why? My thesis question: Why are we so angry? Why do we allow our character to be consumed and transformed by violence? It's very unique to America from what I've noticed.
