  1. Incredible news! Judging by how 3cdc spaces out there projects, I imagine we will hear some type of development announcement later this Fall (after the kroger building is finished?). I'm hoping this will be 3cdc tallest project yet, and can go over 40 stories.
  2. Can't wait until that massive surface lot south of the new Kroger store will be developed. Such an eye store when walking by it.
  3. This has created alot of controversy on Reddit thus far. Alot of service industry workers who work in bars and restaurants in otr can't afford parking garages daily in otr. They don't make enough to justify the costs. Parking north of liberty has been suggested but many of them are still afraid to walk in that area at night and fear for there safety. Many of them acknowledge about taking the bus and parking elsewhere but many also admit they are from the outer suburbs and are uncomfortable with using the bus as well. I truly feel for these workers. They are not urban minded. They are suburbanites and are being put in shackles for being so.
  4. Are you talking about the 2 story historic building? If so that's a shame, someone from Cincinnati preservation collective needs to get the VINE St hill a protected local historic district stat.
  5. I believe Mikey late nite slice delivers.
  6. Is that car repair shop still open on Central parkway? The rumor said it would be closed by end of December? Was this true or just a bogus rumor...
  7. I think the most likely future location for a Skyline in OTR will be in the West End close to the actual FCC Stadium.
  8. Tagolia will take over the Lacheys Spot. Same ownership group as A Tavola in OTR, and second location for Tagolia (1st location is in Columbia Tuscolum and is very highly regarded). There will be carry out and delivery offered and will operate till 2am to serve late night bar crowds. This marks the 7th pizza location for OTR.
  9. I mean so is Cincinnati, but there are literally streets that are shut down due to traffic (main St for instance) during say a Saturday. Alot of that is bar and club traffic of course...but I mean walking around downtown Columbus and it's sort of sparse everything. I remember last june, it was a Saturday, and we were at pins with my group of friends and my girlfriend. We decided to explore the area a bit around pins and all noted how very ghost like it felt. No pedestrians, hardly any cars, etc...Of course when walking back to pins it's get a bit more active with the bar anchoring the traffic. But everything around it was very dead. We decided to hit the short north area which was clearly more active, but downtown Columbus feels very inactive on a weekend compared to cincy. Not sure why that is
  10. Quick question...where is exactly Columbus growing it's population? I've been there quite a few times to party and what not with friends and I've consistently noticed that the downtown portion of Columbus is by and large very dead at night, even on the weekends. The short north was by far the most active area... But downtown cbus was dead as a door nail.
  11. Am I crazy for thinking that Walnut Hills will be fully gentrified before OTR is fully gentrified? I just feel like that Walnut hills is not as large/dense per say, and have less abundance of historic stock. I just think that Firehouse Row will be a great accelator similar to Mercer Commons on Vine. But I think the turn around for Walnut Hills will be much quicker.
  12. Skystar Ferris Wheel owner says that, "We love Cincinnati. We might never leave." I'm curious how there business model works? I know they set up shop around various cities with this ferris wheel, but I wonder if this skystar has had there biggest return on investment due to the premier location of the water front at the banks. I'm curious if they are trying to sell the skystar to the city in exchange for maybe some type of royalty deal? X amount of percent for every ticket sold? Curious to see how this develops though. Definitely wouldn't mind this becoming a permanent fixture at the banks.
  13. When was this first announced? For some reason I don't recall ever seeing a rendering.
  14. Yes, I believe there has been only one shooting south of liberty street in 2018 on Moore St next to Mecca back in May. Even then, that part of south of liberty is still rough because of the lack of movement from the Wade's with there Walnut Street buildings. But obviously that area is already changing with the 3cdc Meiner project and the future Kroger site project. Still, I get otr is not 100 percent safe. I get that there are alot of criminals who still abide there, and still alot of very rough poverty in certain stretches of north of liberty. That said, by denying otr completely, you are denying so much of what Cincy has to offer. Its just a shame about some people's mentalities I guess.
  15. Everytime there's a "OTR Shooting" article on WCPO/Enquirer there are always 2 type of people commenting; There is the person that still advocates for the neighborhood, and acknowledges that crime can happen anywhere. Then there is the person who screams, "Ghetto!" and persistently bashes the progress and the neighborhood and goes on to explain why they will never step foot into OTR.
  16. I would actually be okay with that, if and only if that means the Shell gas station on liberty can be demolished and become replaced with new mixed use infill.

Is the Oddfellows bar space separate from the Mikey's Late Nite Slice? Or is this a combined space for both establishments?

Nice! When is Northern Row Brewery taproom scheduled to open?
  19. Bicycle Stores clearly make sense in the urban core. Bicycles for a large part don't make sense in suburban communities, unless we are considering the loveland bike trail. That said, Montgomery Cyclery has 3 suburban locations; West Chester, Loveland, and Montgomery. Are the lack of bicycle shops more to do with wealth inequality? When you go to these suburban bicycle shops its typically older white men/women who are typically wealthy (or upper middle class). Are the lack of bicycle retail stores in the urban core due to lack of white older wealthy people? I'm just trying to connect the dots. You think about our urban core, and admire how much has progressed in the past 10 years. But then you stop and realize how our urban core still doesn't match even 3/4th of the amenties that the suburbs offer, and then you begin to realize why so many still live in the suburbs. Go down a strip mall in kenwood/or montgomery, you see a dry cleaners, next to a Verizon store, next to a starbucks, next to a half price book store, next to a LA Fitness, next to a Panera, next to a bicycle shop, next to a Dodds Camera store, next to a Traders Joe, next to Larosa's Pizza, next to a Fedex Office store, etc, etc... Someone on reddit who just recently moved to OTR asked about gyms in downtown cincy that are 24/7...We don't have any. Someone asked on reddit where there is a 24/7 spot for food in downtown cincy who was visiting for a bengals game last week....the suggestions were uptown McDonalds and the Waffle House in Clifton. I can't name any block in downtown cincy or OTR for that matter that offers that many amenities. Go to any big city and this suburban model is copy/pasted into the cities fabric. We need this in Cincy if we are trying to regrow our city. I'm not even going to touch the 3 headed dragon about how poor public schools are in cincy... I guess my whole rant is this; You see this beautiful Architecture that OTR/CBD has. You see the amazing restaurants and bars and night life entertainment options that our city has to offer. But as far as amenities go our city is still severely lacking, and this is ultimately a big hindrance to our growth. I'm not sure if 3cdc can do anything to address this, but I hope as OTR continues to be built out, this growth will spur these amenities as more and more millennials move into the city.
  20. This is kind of a random thought, but I find it truly strange by the lack of bicycle shops in OTR/CBD. They are all over montgomery, kenwood, loveland... But in the urban core nada. That's kind of mind-blowing no?
  21. So what happens if someone crosses the street while delivering a clicklist order and gets hit and murdered by a car. Can you imagine the national outcry? Does Kroger go under at this point?
  22. A reddit user posted this photo and made a thread about how dead Mt. Adams Pavillion was on a Saturday Night... Not a soul...on a Saturday night....I remember this place being so packed even a year ago. Should the Mt Adams Community Council try and reach out to 3cdc and come up with a new comprehensive plan for Mt. Adams. I know we've been arguing in the past about how it's okay for Mt. Adams to lose it's, "night life" identity..But the reality is that the whole business district is collapsing there. It's not just the bars, every single establishment is dead or on life support. If the Mt Adams community council was smart, they would reach out to 3cdc and figure out a new gameplan on how to make Mt. Adams a viable business district again. They need to target specific areas that could still present large density opportunities for residential. They need to figure out new parking options as well (parking there can be hell sometimes). They need to find out how to market Mt. Adams to a new generation (right now, the current 21 year olds only care about OTR for shopping/dining/bars, how do we make them aware Mt Adams exists?). I know this a pie in the sky idea, but a brilliant concept in my mind would be to an ariel tram that connects CUF > OTR > MT Adams. Regardless something needs to be figured out, because driving there is not really pleasant per say. It's confusing, narrow, and lacks parking. Honestly, I'm just scared that Mt. Adams is going to see a very intense collapse in the coming years if nothing is done to stop the bleeding. As someone who used to frequent mt adams quite often, to what I see on the streets of Mt. Adams today... I'm telling you right now guys, it's bad. Like really bad. I feel bad for the long time business owners there especially, I have to imagine many of them are suffering quite a bit at the moment.
  23. I get that. I still don't see the point. That surface lot wouldn't be able to serve that many spots regardless and would only create large issues if people have to circle around the CBD multiple times in order to get a spot. It seems like a potential mess for kroge customers... If they built a mid size parking garage that would make much more sense...but a surface lot at that size does not. Doesn't make sense logistically.
  24. That wouldn't seem to make sense to me. Isn't Kroger heavily investing in there automated driverless delivery system? I can't imagine that many urban dwellers would use clicklist tbh. Driving a few blocks to pick up your groceries seems rather... Well pointless... Groceries being delivered by auotmated drivers on the other hand makes way more sense.
  25. I've noticed that the green weilert (sp?) Building has fencing around it's enterance and a dumpster....I can't tell if it's just stabilization work or if 3cdc is finally beginning to rennovate.
