  1. Does 3cdc not control the rent prices?
  2. This is very unlike 3cdc...to bring in national chains that is...I wonder if they are changing up there strategy for otr?
  3. Good stuff in the latest hcb packet Of note: -3 unit rehab conversion on republic -1411 elm st getting rehab -Platform brewing co. Adding new edinson bulb vertical sign for there new brewery on main.
  4. It's a 200x100 property. So room for up to TEN single-family attached row houses. But they'll probably tear down the historic multifamily that they are currently renting. Moreover, the owner of the adjacent multifamily is an LLC from New York who just bought it in 2015. Moreover, the owner of the vacant land on the other side of that multifamily paid $145,000 for a 90x200 plot. So back in 2013 "Five Korners LLC" paid $150,000 for a 90x200 plot (814 & 816 Lincoln) but "NVS Properties" is getting a corner parcel nearly identical in size for $7,500. Cranley, Cranley, Cranley. Yeah, that type of stuff just ticks me off. Wonder if we can get CityBeat on it to investigate or something. Seriously, I've been feeling a bit depressed about the state of the city recently. I know Cranley wants development, but he is really setting the city back with his refusal to do some of the things that will actually progress our city like the Liberty Street Road Diet, simple streetcar fixes, finishing the Central Parkway Bike Lane, and things like trying to give out land for free. Also, I am pretty ticked about the massive amount of TIF subsidies given to the new stadium. We could have so much done and get so many projects kick started, like the buildings on 4th Street and Walnut and 5th that would be transformative downtown, using that TIF money. When Mallory was in, it seemed like a new project was announced weekly, now it is just a crawl... Luckily, Mallory got the private development moving pretty good in OTR with the Streetcar finished up. I can't imagine where we would be without the streetcar... I still think the West End stadium project was the best option. You add, 25,000 (upwards to 30,000 when expanded) to the West End, an area that has seen 0 development, even during the Mark Mallory days. The project will also contain mixed use development around the stadium in the form of retail/dining/perhaps apartments (as stated by Jeff Berding)... Also, as FCC recently announced, the stadium will host various events and concerts and wont sit vacant when there aren't matches being played. I think this will be a nice addition at the end of it all.

Well the ticket prices are vastly different. For an OSU football match (against a key opponent) would cost you roughly 150$ dollars...World Cup tickets start at around 450-500$ for the early matches, and climb to over a 1,000$ for the later round matches.

I'm not sure why we are making this into a Cleveland vs Cincinnati thing. Why Cleveland wasn't on the short list, I have no idea...Cincinnati is definitely on the rise, and FCC has definitely created a unique soccer culture that has captured the attention of many. We should all be proud that Cincy may get a chance to host a world cup game..yet it's conspiracy theory central over here, almost as if Cincy is some 3rd world city that deserves nothing good or positive...Where is the love guys?
  7. Why wouldn't an Apple Store work in OTR? There's enough foot traffic (and soon way more business employees, because of the new 3cdc offices) in otr to have an apple store be successful.
  8. Are there even any dry cleaners in otr let alone the cbd? In the suburbs they are everywhere...kind of speaks volumes about the lack of amenities aspect that urban core residents face
  9. Is Source 3 still scheduled to start the Elm and Liberty project this summer as it was previously alluded to in the biz journal article from a few months ago? I believe they have the financing in place and should be ready to go?
  10. I mean it’s great though that these NYC HQ chains see value in OTR. Like it or not I truly do think that otr needs a Starbucks, Apple Store, HM for its long term success. It’s recognizeable brands and cincy needs a premier retail shopping street in its urban core.
  11. So some good news on the West End Stadium front.... 1) Stadium will be multi purpose and will host concerts (PromoWest?) and other matches (Im guessing US National Games, maybe highschool soccer matches?) throughout the year. It will be a space that will try to be maximized in usage. 2) Capacity has shot up from 21k...current rumor is fcc will try to start with 25k for 2021 opening season.
  12. Nah Treehouse is legit. It’s always packed on the weekends and it’s probably more popular than Mt Adams Pavilion nowadays. Diverse crowds to.
  13. CPD need to pick up there 24/7 presence in otr pronto.
  14. Curious, why do you think they located poorly?
  15. It will be on Vine St, right next to the Sacred Beast...so I’m guessing 3cdc was responsible for this. Surprising since it’s semi large a national chain, with 48 locations in the US. I wonder if 3cdc might be beginning to diversify local and national now for their retail? I still think there is no reason why otr can’t have other chains like Starbucks and H&M/Victoria Secret...
  16. Huge OTR retail news. Bonobos, a major NYC HQ retail clothing brand will be located in otr. It’s a very popular clothing brand , and surprised that OTR was able to land a location.
  17. North College Hill is apperantly forming a competitive bid to win the fcc practice facility.
  18. Interesting. Well something needs to happen regardless. If anyone has toured the facility recently you will see how the jail facility is literally being pushed to the edge and then some. It’s not even the fact that it is overcrowded. There is mold everywhere and the facility is just simply abused and run down to the nub. I feel like this should be emergency money given from the state in lieu of this horrible humanitarian crisis.
  19. I wasn’t aware of this. If so, that’s a damn shame....
  20. So I’m not sure how much is a new jail will cost. I do know that the current jail is over crowded and when I toured the facility back in March the conditions were truly horrid. I know the city is running a budget deficit, (but somehow finds over 50 million for infrastructure dollars for fcc)...that said, why we don’t focus on building a new state of the art jail facility (that can handle the necessary growing capacity), move it away from the urban downtown core (architecturally it’s hideous and inmates arriving and departing is such a bad look for tourists and suburbanites touring downtown), and have 3CDC redevelop the land with a new mixed use development that would fit the current renaissance the urban core is experiencing... Again, the jail is not simply over crowded, it’s BEYOND over crowded. It’s a humanitarian nightmare. Why this isn’t getting 24/7 attention is beyond me.
  21. This may sound silly but I honestly think the escape room will be an awesome addition for the banks. Much better than another generic chain restaurant/bar...this at least gives variety. I’m still hoping we can at least get some major retail brands to locate at the banks, and or venues like a comedy club. Cincy needs more entertainment variety that isn’t a constant cycle of bars/restaurants.
  22. My question would be, why would the bengals bring up this issue now instead of a month ago when promoters we’re asked to present bids to the city. Does anyone else think it sounds fishy that it’s only being discussed now?
  23. Benagals will veto lot 26 for use of music venue because they want to preserve tailgating area...so goodbye concert venue at banks?
  24. I’m not going to lie, I went to that shell with a group of friends one night to buy cigarettes. Even then, I felt like my life was in danger. That shell gas station is so incredibly dangerous to go to, especially at the dead of night. I see out of town people explore otr and start walking past liberty st. I always feel bad, because I don’t think they realize they can easily get mugged if they aren’t careful, even being in groups.
  25. Yet you still see families move into otr and drop 400-500k in a new condo...Which is good that the open air drug dealing isn’t a deterrent, but you still see drug dealings fairly frequently, especially on republic and on vine near the Kroger. The police don’t care. It’s sad.
