  1. Is the meeting with cps THEE meeting that will determine fcc and cps partnership chances? Or will there have to be a series of Meetings before a conclusion can be drawn.
  2. I just hope a potential fcc mls stadium in the west end will allow reinvestment in the old west end/north liberty/mt auburn. Hopefully itlll speed up the process a tad.
  3. It gets more interesting though I tried googling the buyer, SNM properties LLC, and could find practically nothing. Eventually r/fccincinnati reddit detectives found out that they were registered by KMK, who have done a large amount of work with FCC, and not to mention are tied with John Cranley. http://www2.sos.state.oh.us/reports/rwservlet?imgc12g&Din=201732501636 The mailing address of the buyer however trails back to Bang Zoom Design Co. I don't want to create a conspiracy theory. I'm not really into that type of stuff. But why would a toy company over pay so much for that parcel? Especially when the largest near comp, in Lisnr HQ only paid 600K for there land only a short few months ago.
  4. This is interesting. 1409 Central Park Way sole for 1.1 Million. Last transaction sold for 60k, 4 years ago. Everyone assumed it was FCC related on reddit, but apparently it’s related to a toy design company in Cincinnati called Bamg Zoom Design. What’s strange is that the highest nearest comp is Lisnr recent new HQ, which had a land transfer of 600k. That said, 1.1 million? For a toy design company? Why are They spending so much for Central Park way? Could this be the fcc land speculation effect? Get a piece of the action before land skyrocket in the west end? https://i.imgur.com/TGJSiQp_d.jpg?maxwidth=640&shape=thumb&fidelity=medium
  5. WEST END: Just talked to Community Council President Keith Blake again on the phone; he & some other members met with FCC President Jeff Berding yesterday - Berding promised engagement *if* that is the stadium location choice WCPO[/member]
  6. #BREAKING: 2018 CiTiRAMA in the West End is on hold until @fccincinnati makes a stadium decision, per Home Builders Association executive director; FCC's land interests in that neighborhood are around the "Stowe Place" site WCPO[/member]
  7. Interesting detective work on the r/FCCincinnati subreddit;
  8. Why? I imagine FCC will spur a new parking garage to be created near central park way. I don't think that extra land would necessarily need to be surfance lot parking.
  9. Chris Wetterich of the Cincinnati business courier tweeted that he’s heard rumors that’s citirama Site Will home to new Stargell stadium, while fcc would occupy old Stargell site.
  10. So is citirama not happening or is there enough land for both a stadium and housing?
  11. Just in: @fccincinnati approached Cincinnati Metropolitan Housing Authority to buy land in the West End on Jan. 16th. The CMHA board will consider an option agreement with the team on land in the West End WCPO[/member] https://www.wcpo.com/news/local-news/hamilton-county/cincinnati/west-end/fc-cincinnati-has-asked-to-buy-land-in-west-end-from-cincinnati-metropolitan-housing-authority Anyone know the details of where this could be??
  12. So is this design competition meant to be conceptual or will it be actualized and constructed in otr on some empty lot?
  13. Wcpo reporting sams club in Loveland and Oakley are shutting down. Glad we have all those nice pretty surface lots.
  14. I really hope that rumor about Amazon HQ2 strongly considering cincy is true. We need it now more than ever...
  15. Rumors are still persisting that West End is going to be the announced site for the FCC mls stadium. Is is possible that land/buildings are being purchased that are under the table, without fcc/linders name attached? Everyone is saying land /buildings are being collected behind the curtains, and that the sellers are under tight NDA’S about the sale but I’m not sure how realistic of a story that is...
  16. So I'm curious what you guys think...But does anyone else feel as if things have been slowing down development wise in OTR? For instance, the Business Courier wrote an article about some of the historic tax credit projects, and no 3cdc project had won. Even during the past few months of the HCB. Really nothing, to very little in OTR (in terms of new rehabs, or new infill development), or around the city in general. I don't know if it's just that winter is a, "lull" period, or if development is just indeed slowing down in OTR......I guess it's just that OTR seemed like a focal point on this subsection, and it's always felt like something new was going in OTR. But lately it just feels, "dead". What do you guys think?
  17. So is the surface parking going to be developed? Or are they just going to be tenants in the adjacent building and use the surface lots for staff parking?
  18. If West End is chosen as the ultimate site I will literally cry tears of joy. That area could easily become a wrigglyville type of enviroment and atmosphere, and not to even mention the economic boost that might seep over to the West End, and the Old West End. It could do wonders, absolute wonders.
  19. The problem with the Sacremento bid is that there are already 2 MLS teams in LA, and 1 MLS team in San Jose. Also, San Diego is an, "MLS darling". They want San Diego market really bad, and would probably win round 2 if the funding becomes in place. Alot of fear, with Sacremento Fans is that a MLS team in Sacremento might be saturating the nearby market. Just to many teams bunched together. Nashville might be a possibility sure, but the problem is that Nashville is a total unknown. The team could do remarkably well, or fall flat on it's face. They will have a USL team next year, and MLS might want to see how there attendance fairs in the USL first, before automatically giving them a bid. It's still 2/3 chance. We have a 66% chance of winning. So does Nashville and Sacremento, so we'll see.
  20. An important question to ask...if FCC doesn't make it into MLS, what happens to this stadium plan? Does the ownership still build the same sized stadium and does the city/county still put up the same amount of money for new infrastructure? Fans keep saying that this stadium is worth the investment because it will help us get to MLS. But if we remain a USL team is it still worth the investment? No, they will continue to play at Nippert if they don't make it into the MLS. There will be a second round of expansions (tbd date) after this first round.
  21. Meh, I think Oakley has it's own unique vibe. We are acting like the big box stores have completely invaded Oakley, when in reality it's like 1/4th of all of Oakley. There are some nice things going on down there, and there are some great places to eat and drink before the game, not to mention the jam packed Mad Tree Brewery. I also think the Stadium will be a catalyst for some more urban mixed use developments in the current remaining undeveloped parcels. Without this stadium, who knows what these parcels could end up as. Oakley could be more urban for sure, and I might be in the minority with this, but I truly don't have a problem with the Oakley Site. Would west end or newport be more ideal? Sure, but Oakley is okay with me to honestly.
  22. I don't disagree that the West End or Newport would be far superior sites. By I also think that this stadium, if located in Oakley, will definitely allow development to accelerate in that area. I also hope, that perhaps with the influx of traffic that area gets, it'll begin to realize that surface lots are not the answer for the area, and that a more urban approach for Oakley will slowly begin to be sought after for. Again, probably wishful thinking no doubt, but I am very curious how FCC will shape the future of oakley. It could honestly do wonders IMO.
  23. Eh, your probably right. The only thing it really does is brings Cincinnati more towards the global spotlight. Cities are judged by the amount of professional sports teams they have. The less sports teams you have, the smaller of a city you are considered. (Like Louisville/Dayton, etc) Other than that, signing big name players that have played in Bundesaliga/Premier League/La Liga only creates more international spotlight for Cincinnati, and creates a ripple effect in the neighboring players country. Thus, in the process Cincinnati becomes more, "visible" so to speak. You can go to alot of countries in europe who will have no idea who or what cincinnati even is. Staying in the USL will never allow us to sign big players. Again, USL is equivalent to a AA or AAA minor league baseball team. Also, winning an MLS bid does create more legitimacy and more of a chance to host the 2026 World Cup, and having a Cincinnati MLS team means our players could theoretically be on the World Cup Men's Roster. So yeah, your probably right about ROI. But there is no doubt (in my mind at least) that it would allow Cincinnati to be more visible on the global stage.
  24. The bid site can change. It doesn't really matter. All MLS wants to see is a final stadium plan in place, and the financing situation all set in stone. That's all they really care about. That's why the current speculation is that Oakley will be the, "announced" mls site, just until (assuming) they are awarded the bid. Then Berding will pivot and continue to work on the west end site. From what I understand, the issue with the West End site is that parcels of land will need to be compiled that are currently owned by multiple owners. I'm also not sure if any of this land needed for the west end site is also going to cost demolition of any historic buildings either (and I'm sure the anti-gentrification crowd will up in arms in any case really)....Regardless, FCC would end up playing in 2020 (2021 at the latest). They obviously need the extra time it would take to collect all the property in order to make a west end site bid a reality. That's why the extra time would allow for that to happen, but since they have only till December to announce THE site, they will go with Oakley since everything is already nicely, "laid" out. There's only 1 property owner, versus multiple property owners with the west end. Oakley is the site that will be submitted for mls expansion, but if chosen, they can easily choose a new site (whether it be Oakley, West End, Newport, or any other site for that matter) to build there stadium. They are not legally bound to only build the stadium where they applied to build the stadium.
  25. To be fair mls has reviewed the Oakley site as part of the 3 site bidding that FCC has presented, and mls was fully okay with Oakley (mainly because of the close proximity to bars and millennials) Also I'm not sure why we are so adamant in saying Oakley isn't urban. The area with Oakley square and the big box stores are probably only like 1/4th of all of Oakley. It's not the most urban neighborhood but it still has quite a bit of urban blood in its veins.
