Cincinnati: Complete Streets, Road Diets, and Traffic Calming
I hope that a formal complete streets policy is introduced and adopted. Maybe I am being negative... but with the mayors race going on I get the feeling that this will be framed as some sort of 'left wing agenda' by local media and become toxic as opposed to something that benefits the majority of residents within the city with low-cost improvements to NBDs, around schools, etc..

They also purchased several parcels at the corner of Elm & Liberty... will be interested to see what the plan is there.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Convention Center / Hotel
I agree not an attractive building, but the 'hold and wait' approach on parking lots usually is code for a decade of nothing.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Convention Center / Hotel
Great - so this lot and the millennium lot will sit as surface parking "until further notice".

Norwood: Development and News
The developers of this and Oakley Station / Oakley Yard (Off Robertson) really need to find a way to get pedestrian access connecting these developments. It would do wonders for foot traffic between the three.

Cincinnati: Bicycling Developments and News
It is mentioned in the thread that "UC Administration did not support the bike lane"... Even though data is showing it vastly reduced speeding on that section of road and gives a safe way for students to bike to campus. Not sure I understand that line of thinking.

Cincinnati: Restaurant News & Info
Hopefully this can get off the ground and operating by sometime next Summer for Reds season. It will go a long way towards stretching the area west. Now add some more residential south of GE and another hotel by PBS.

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
The Schmidlapp event lawn, while nice looking and pleasant, is seemingly rarely used. And when it is used that could have been easily folded into the park south of Mehring.

Newport, KY: Ovation
The new configuration on W3rd feels very strange driving through it with the elevated parking garage so you cant really see 'into' the concert venue and the separated lane on each side. I think if other parking decks elevate the rest of the development it will definitely feel like you are driving through an uninviting gulley and all the activity is out of sight.

Maybe I missed it ... but are they doing something with that corner of Elm/Mehring? That not great looking at the moment.

Cincinnati: Hyde Park: Development and News
I am confident many of the people *outraged* over this proposal are the same folks who have the 'no matter who you are, we are glad you are our neighbor' signs in their yard.

Cincinnati: Hyde Park: Development and News
Is the 'sewer capacity' argument valid? I have seen it brought up to stop developments (but only in higher-end neighborhoods).. so I have reason to be skeptical that holds any merit.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Western & Southern Headquarters
I would be curious as to what they would want to do with the entire block that the Masonic building sits on... W&S already owns a lot of land in the area that could easily accommodate a new garage and HQ building... not to mention what they are tearing down around Lytle Park to create even more space. If it was a separate hotel/event space development I guess that would make sense, but they also own the two hotels that sit on the park and they have event areas there.

Cincinnati: Hyde Park: Development and News
Ha... i did see a real comment that said 'i hope people living in oakley and hyde park enjoy never seeing the sun again'. Along with the usual 'think of the children', traffic, and that if you can see the pool from the new building from a house close by it will ruin the value of the home.

Cincinnati: Hyde Park: Development and News
Last time I drove by the area there was already a big sign up on the property saying something along the lines of 'stop the tower' (it is 6 floors...not sure how we are qualifying that as a tower) and there is a website about how to stop it from happening and lots of fake outrage about it on Nextdoor.

Ohio: General Business & Economic News
When a Company is dangling good jobs as an incitement for States / Cities they will get a sweetheart deal basically anywhere they want. As silly as it sounds, a lot of expansions/relocations in certain areas come down to the people making those choices enjoy spending time in that city or they have family there... etc. No company would admit that is the reason publicly, and always will give the "right reasons" on why they moved.

Norwood: Development and News
i was walking in that area the other day. They really need a way to connect this, Oakley station and Three Oaks. It would benefit all 3 developments and be great to be able to walk to all cohesively.

Bank of America branch. On the opposite corner of wasson and Paxton a cold-sculpting place opened. Continue to waste opportunities along the wasson way corridor.

Those main street properties were supposed to be a part of a hotel development originally correct? Now it is being turned into office space? That is kind of surprising given the current environment I cant imagine many companies are on the market for 40,000 sqft of space.

Cincinnati: Mt. Adams: Development and News
Regardless of socio-economic status, leaving behind garbage and litter when there are free to use garbage cans provided by the parks department is not okay, especially for adults. This only encourages other bad behavior and drives off people from using the park. No one wants to hangout in a dirty park.

Yeah - my concern is that they will hold onto under-utilized space for no reason other than fear of 'community backlash' and perception the library is 'kicking people out'.
