  1. This funding should outrage any citizen of Ohio. How is it okay to allocate $600 million to HSG and yet less money is allotted towards education. HSG never considered that Cleveland couldn't afford a multi billion dollar new build nor truly wanted a new stadium. This was forced upon us and sold as a necessary need for the region. This reiterates that politicians do not care about the welfare of the majority and now just cater to the wealthy. I cant wait for all to realize how much parking and tickets will cost to attend a Cleveland Browns' game in Brook Park.
  2. I truly hope Ohio politicians read our comments and realize the absurdity of granting the $600 million to HSG has little benefit to what we already have. This project is nothing more than a money grab for a billionaire with little regard for the region.
  3. Updated facade from the construction cam https://app.oxblue.com/cameras/60d486ce45de63c7a4a4a944622a8a5d?openlink=Clevelandco/City-Club-Apartments
  4. Has the city begun to look at costs to remove the existing stadium from the lakefront or at least negotiate with HSG to contribute to the cost to do that? Any estimates so far? If it isn't removed can the stadium be reconfigured or reduced in size to accommodate ot our team ther sport's needs? I still hold hope that this stadium can be the home for the Browns As a side note, I live in Los Angeles and ran into a gentleman wearing a Browns hoodie and asked if he was from Cleveland. He was from Columbus. I asked him his thoughts on the proposed enclosed stadium in Brook Park. He stated that was a horrible idea and football in Cleveland was meant to be played in the elements. Somehow the Haslams and HSG have forgotten what and how the majority feel about our team. It has never been about fancy and new. The NFL owners have lost touch with their fans
  5. There is so much potential to make our lakefront great and the envy of other cities.
  6. If the "Modell Law" is ruled to be enforced how would HSG respond to a move to Brook Park. I wish Roger Goodell would address this rather than support Jimmy and Dee to lobby for their plan
  7. While I am happy to see that the master plan has evolved to a new build I would really like to see the concourses rebuilt from scratch over time. This plan should show what is possible as a cohesive plan. The space between the new terminal and concourse B is odd and isn't the most convenient to get to. Hopefully more renderings will surface of what is planned for the interior spaces.
  8. Here is another billionaire whom is doing the right thing and not asking for any money from taxpayers to renovate The Honda Center in Anaheim California. The cost is $1.1BN. And they don't even own Honda Center. The city of Anaheim owns it. Yet in Ohio HSG is expecting us to pay for half the cost for his project that nobody asked for or considered what the region could afford. https://www.sportsbusinessjournal.com/Articles/2025/04/29/anaheims-honda-center-getting-privately-funded-11b-renovation/
  9. Ultimately HSG will raise ticket prices and parking prices for attending any activity at a Brook Park location to fulfill their needs to pay the State bonds they are seeking. This is a bait and switch for the public to finance and line Jimmy and Dee Haslam's pockets without them ever taking on the responsibility themselves. Shouldn't the 50 million they set aside if their estimates come in wrong just be used to reduce the amount they ask by that amount? Where are the estimated costs for all the road infrastructure Brook Park and HSG require for that site? Those numbers aren't included in any budget yet and whom pays for that?
  10. This was what was originally proposed for The Malls when it was being imagined as a whole development. The minimal was executed but many of the items were considered to add later on. Unfortunately nobody has raised the monies for completing any further enhancements These plans were developed back in 2014 https://www.mclv.co/projects/past/connecting-downtown-cleveland-master-plan.
  11. I enjoy that Public Square has been reinvented within the past 10 years. Sometimes it is difficult to understand why the malls haven't been activated to extend the public's uses. This is where the next focus should be placed. I never understood why public amenities and activations were eliminated from inclusion on the large open spaces. Talks happened about playgrounds and basketball courts but nothing has come to fruition other than some art installations which draw little attention.
  12. This shows that our government is all for billionaires wishes rather than helping those whom need true financial assistance. Shame on our elected officials whom are pushing this through.
  13. With all the new tariffs happening has anyone heard of increased cost projections for the Brook Park site?
  14. I wish the spaghetti of wires could be addressed along Cleveland's street grid. I also am not a fan of the corrugated metal cladding that is surrounding the windows. The townhomes are nice but the scale of them are at odds with the rest of the development site
  15. https://www.facebook.com/thedroneohio Drone Ohio's Facebook page has some incredible construction images. The perspective put a great sense of scale to this expansion If you follow the link there is a set of 28 photos
  16. Has anyone heard how the skyscraper has managed with bird's striking into it? Was the glass treated ? Since Cleveland doesn't have many tall buildings we do have great representations of the prevailing styles of bygone decades. Will the all glass trend evolve into something else? I am sure it will. Happy that we have a few glass additions to our skyline
  17. How many more billboards does the city need to put up to complete the compromise of removing the one at Irishtown Bend?
  18. Does anyone have any updates on "The Shack" exterior landscape? Has any progress been made? I still feel this should be called "Private Square"
  19. Any chance the Celebrezze Bldg could be put into play for the new courthouse complex? They could add a second building on the plaza area that consisted of the courtrooms and the existing tower for ancillary judges' needs
  20. Could The A.J. Celebrezze Building turn into a candidate for retrofit for the courthouse tower ? Build onto the back side a tower that has the courtrooms needed. The security needed for the courts is already built into the tower
  21. The increase in the states tax base better take into consideration what is to be nothing more than a transfer from a downtown site to Brook Park. I am positive the numbers cancel each other out and amounts to little gains. These politicians do not care about what momentum they are doing that downtown has been investing for years. Once again this is the same argument owners have had regarding stadiums. They all claim shiny and new will bring in more tax revenue but at the end of the day all we care about it what happens on a field
  22. Why not leave the arch where it is stands and shift the park around it once a new access road is made for the high-rise apartments? Once this arch is moved it loses it's historic placement as a nod to what gem we lost when the amusement park was closed. I am also concerned that this project doesn't have funding or an idea of what they want to skin the arch with once it is dismantled and moved. The current permanent stone facade is what we all remember since the 1940's. This is what should be remain and NOT something earlier.
  23. There are no plans for any decorative panels on the garage. I don't mind that since it keeps with the industrial nature of the existing building.
  24. It truly is a sad state when our elected officials are more concerned of giving $600 million to a billionaire rather than focusing on giving that money to education. Thank you Michelle Jarboe for her reporting and asking the questions that deserve to be asked. I would like to ask HSG if they continue state their projections are correct why they put $38.5 million in a fund if there is shortfall in paying back the bonds in the future. Sure seems they aren't sure their numbers are correct in getting the State to issue the bonds. I also ask why HSG has designed a stadium that Northeast Ohio simply cannot afford
  25. All this money the State talks of giving the Haslams is unacceptable. This development brings nothing to the region that we don't already have. 1. a perfectly acceptable stadium to renovate. 2. hotels already exist downtown 3. land downtown for additional residential dwelling. 4. vacant office space. 4. venues that can hos conventions and concerts. 5. infrastructure. The Haslam's haven't mentioned any concrete evidence businesses flocking to relocate to Brook Park from outside Ohio. Let's stop the madness and wake up to the fact there is no reason for this development
