  1. https://www.playhousesquare.org/events-tickets/events/mummies-of-the-world-the-exhibit Mummies of The Wold exhibit opening at The Corner Gallery on Sept 23. Great to see this corner reactivated
  2. Does anyone know what the programming is on the 13/14th floor? The height of that floor is extended higher than the others
  3. I have reached out to both The City and The Group Plan Commission that oversees Public Square with absolutely no response multiple times.
  4. Thanks everyone for the photographs of Downtown Cleveland showing development progress in Playhouse Square and SHW Headquarters I have been looking at certain photographs and noticed some issues that I wish The City maintenance would look into. 1. Public Square's southern half has lost many trees and it appears more are dying or diseased. Every time one is removed The City just covered up th whole with another concrete paver instead of replacing the necessary trees that are part of the overall design. One can see how people crave the shade provided by the trees as noticed where the furnishings land. 2. The consistent street lights down Euclid Ave from Public Square to University Circle are different fixtures across the street from The Playhouse Square Theatre. It seems lazy not to have them consistent with the others. 3. Many of the crosswalk bridge patterns are in major disrepair along Euclid Avenue. Either missing stones or stones lazily placed back without any consideration to match the pattern back. This is most pronounced at Euclid Avenue and East Ninth. I think The City can do better Thank you @MayDayand @Plecofor the photos
  5. The glass really sells that Cleveland is a reflection of SHW's presence . Pun intended
  6. I am glad to see the return of the ground kiosk screens. One suggestion I would have loved to see is The Lumen parking structure screen outlined with some type of LED tape that could bring a little more life to the southern side of the street. Thanks @Pleco for photos Lastly, I hope they repair the burnout sections of lights in the archways and The Hanna Building architectural lighting.
  7. PLAYHOUSE SQUARE RAISES THE CURTAIN ON NEW EXHIBIT SPACE Playhouse Square announced today that it is opening The Corner Gallery exhibit space this fall. Located in the former Cowell & Hubbard and CSU Gallery spaces at 1305 Euclid Avenue, The Corner Gallery is designed to feature a wide range of exhibitions that will encourage more activity in the downtown district. “Playhouse Square is synonymous with creating successful and memorable events, and we are thrilled to further engage guests with our district in this new space,” said Craig Hassall, President & CEO, Playhouse Square. “By embarking on this exciting venture in The Corner Gallery, Playhouse Square is able to not only grow in its unique offerings to visitors, but can continue to create a vibrant, animated district along Euclid Avenue.” Along with the opening of The Corner Gallery, Playhouse Square looks forward to welcoming Fresh Garden Café to U.S. Bank Plaza and the venerable City Club of Cleveland to the Playhouse Square District this fall, as well as lighting its new marquees at the free community event Marquee Moments on September 28. “Between our incredible line-up of performances in our theaters to our fantastic eateries and the addition of these new venues and special events, the Playhouse Square District will be brimming with energy, and we are excited to welcome everyone to take part in these experiences,” said Hassall. Playhouse Square will announce the first exhibit in The Corner Gallery in early September.
  8. Danny Barnyc can be seen in front of the computer while color testing is happening. If one scrolls up to photos of the installation he is the gentleman with longer hair. It's nice to see him participating
  9. re: The Helen/Outcalt Theatre Marquee response from Playhouse Square Every day, our construction team is working hard to complete our new marquees. We are on a strict schedule to complete the project safely and in a timely manner. The Helen/Outcalt Marquee is on our schedule and will be completed in an orderly fashion. We do hope that you enjoy our new marquees as they are completed.
  10. Thank you to all for posting the construction photographs. One detail that I wish had been happening is the glass on the inset panels were a shade darker than the outer skin. I don't see these panels providing the "slimming" effect they were wanting to achieve.
  11. While I applaud what PHS has been doing with the marquee updates I find The State and Mimi Ohio a bit clumsy in scale and sight lines. One can see the angle brackets that hold up the detailing from across the street and walking along and under the north side of Euclid Avenue. Also the details are a bit flat from side views. The could have used some depth added. I feel there should have been more attention spent. The most successful is The Connor Palace marquee. The Allen feels flat compared to the others and I still don't understand why tHe Helen and OutCalt Theatre marquee was eliminated. Lastly I wish the streetlights inside The Playhouse Square archways could be changed out to better ornate fixtures matching the theatre's architectural neighborhood.

  13. It appears that The Helen /Outcalt Theatre Marquee was cut. Does anyone know why they eliminated it ? The Playhouse Square website only shows 5 marquees on its marquee page
  14. I heard that the chandelier is also receiving an update. The lighting will be upgraded and it will "twinkle"at certain times. The effect is described similarly on The Eiffel Tower
  15. Thank you for this photograph. It points out a huge flaw with regards to The Pavilion's rooftop reflection in the Headquarters Tower. I hope the rooftop has some great design that will make it interesting to look at. They missed an opportunity to have this accessed by employees as a greened outdoor space to use
  16. If you check out the Sherwin Williams Headquarters thread the latest post has a view of 55 Public Square's parking structure. It appears it was repainted
  17. The tax abatement plan adjustment was approved with City Planning Commission this morning
  18. https://www.instagram.com/p/CvfEUT9AYLo/ The Hanna marquee has begun installation. It is unfortunate that The Great Lakes TheaterCompany's logo is identical to The Great Lakes Brewing Company's
  19. Atlanta's Stadium also is home to The City's soccer team
  20. None of the interior renderings show parking on the first floor. Also, doesn't The Y occupy frontage along St Clair?
  21. https://www.crainscleveland.com/real-estate/cleveland-eyes-commercial-tax-abatement-erieview-tower Michelle Jarboe's article has a differing architectural firm credited as Beyer Blinder Belle. I am impressed by their website and projects they have tackled. They have definitely married The Galleria better with The Erieview Tower I would also love if they could incorporate the original plaza pavement design into the renovations. I remember it fondly as a distinct element
  22. I wish the Keith Building could have architectural lighting added to it. Something similar as The Hanna Building is lit
  23. I wonder if there has been any discussion to modify the field to accommodate soccer. This would activate the stadium for more than the 10 games for the NFL play. Remember that the original Municipal Stadium served a better purpose of activity with baseball in the spring and summer months albeit not the best facility
  24. My issue has always been that The Galleria has felt disjointed to The Erieview Tower. The rendering helps to blend the two together.
