Cleveland: University Circle: Circle Square
Does anyone know when the original MLK Jr Branch Library will be demolished?

Brook Park: New Cleveland Browns Stadium
When the mayor of Brook Park states he believes this stadium should last 50 years is laughable. No billionaire will keep the stadium for that long. They all want the shiniest new object funded by the taxpayer's.

Cleveland: University Circle: Circle Square
I thought the same thing! This was a differing approach that evolved over time. I reserve judgment to see how this library grows and ages. Right now it appears sterile. The large one area in the center of the library looks like a great opportunity to roller skate!

The Official *I Love Cleveland* Thread
https://www.axios.com/local/cleveland/2025/01/23/group-pursuing-new-cleveland-flag-not-waiting-for-formal-adoption Group pursuing new Cleveland flag not waiting for formal adoption This effort to create a new flag for Cleveland has been so non-transparent. The public was never part of the process to narrow down the options that were sent to them and when the 3 finalists were chosen some of them were designed by the actual team hosting the contest. I personally do not understand why there is a need to replace the current flag. If you haven't seen the 3 options + the original flag I have attached the finalists Supposedly the 6-sided star is to remind us that we were the sixth largest city at one point of our history. To me that star represents Chicago and also is a sad reminder of what we once were compared to now. There isn't any historic meaning to these proposals

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
Without being able to read the Crains Cleveland article, I believe it was the fire protectant used over the steel was improperly installed to the level required to be effective. I have attached a link to Signal Cleveland with an article that explains the issue https://signalcleveland.org/sherwin-williams-to-fix-fire-protection-problem-on-new-headquarters/

Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
Does the way these decisions are being made come down to the lack of strong leadership/lobbying from Cleveland's government officials?
-
Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
I had a thought and do not know if it was previously addressed. If Burke was to be closed soon, why couldn't the existing stadium be outfitted with a roof if The Haslam's so desire?

Cleveland: Hotel Development
The Fidelity Hotel looks amazing!

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
It boggles my mind why a grand opening for a new office tower and complex needs to do an off-site event that is costing a large amount of money in Public Square. Why the rush to do this ceremony if the building is far from completion and occupancy?

Cleveland: Downtown: Tower at Erieview & Galleria Renovation
I always felt there was a disconnect between the architecture of The Galleria with The Erieview Tower. I would love and hope the colors of the entire Galleria align with the dark tones present with the original tower.

Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
HSG is so arrogant in their posturing! None of what they say of this development benefitting Cuyahoga County and Downtown Cleveland should be believed. It is nothing more than a billionaire trying to gain as much profit for himself and let the citizens pay for half. It is time they show us the alternative plan for the lakefront location and let us decide what is viable. This truly makes me not want to follow the Browns any longer

Cleveland: Ohio City: Irishtown Bend Park
@Geowizical Great set of photographs! I have a couple of questions. 1. What is the estimated timeline for this phase of shoring Irishtown Bend? 2. The Detroit Superior Bridge section with cinder blocks in the arches, what are they there for?

Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
Thank you @KJP for the excellent reporting of the continued stadium saga! I am appalled, but not surprised, at the arrogance the HSG continues to show us all. The way they want to skirt the "Modell Law" to fit their needs is sad since this law was to protect us taxpayers. Nobody that I have talked to like how The Haslams are acting. None of this is in the best interest for us but rather them. Nobody asked for a new district for taxpayers to foot half the bill and to take all momentum away from what we have contributed to the downtown revitalization. If they want to show us what we could get for a billion dollar renovation to the existing stadium than maybe I will listen to their argument. I roofed stadium is not something I craved. I am a diehard fan that believes football should be played outdoors. Weather and natural grass is the way it should be played. The lakefront location is the historic location that all Browns' games have been played since they were founded. I applaud the city for sticking to their position and not caving into The Halsam's plan

Cleveland: Historic Photos
I wish the atrium space at 200 Public Square was restored to it's original design. Thanks for the photos @MayDay

Brook Park: New Cleveland Browns Stadium
Shiny and New is not always better. The NFL owners' are making us believe that football games are only good if they come with the latest and greatest. I ask whom at HSG made the decision to pursue a stadium and design that nobody really asked for at that exorbitant price tag? If Jimmy and Dee want to push their own agenda through at their own cost point than be it all on them. Clevelanders' have never needed the luxury that is being asked. We just want an owner whom invests on a great product on the field. The current stadium is not the worst. Maintenance is all anyone asks for and affordable prices to attend. If they want to keep pushing this agenda, I want hard facts on timelines, infrastructure, events that are guaranteed to happen. How many developments share these extreme development ideas that never come to the full vision they try to sell us on? A shiny rendering is all we have and yet no rendering of what the current stadium could be has ever been shared. If the city owns the current stadium, why have they not hired an architect to show what could be done without HSG controlling the narrative?

Cleveland: University Circle: Skyline on Stokes
I wish we had better designs from Geis than what we are receiving

Cleveland: Ohio City: Bridgeworks Development
Saddened to watch The Landmarks Commission give final approval to the latest iteration today. I am perplexed on how this commission has handled their duties throughout the years on this project. There were plenty of better designs that had started this process. All this back and forth lead this project to mediocrity. I have lost faith in this commission and their purpose

Cleveland: Cleveland State University: Development and News
Academic architecture should strive for timeless grandeur rather than what the latest trend is. This design will have the same effect as the original, brutalist style.

Brook Park: New Cleveland Browns Stadium
Exactly what is the draw to hang out at any of these restaurants or other places when the stadium isn't in use? Even when the stadium is in use I can't imagine the area active all day and evening while events are occurring. Wouldn't The Haslams want all the money they could get from inside the stadium? It is also interesting that downtown has struggle to get any retail yet an unproven location with no residential yet is able to say they will entice a full plethora of shops and restaurants Lastly, I see nothing that states they have the financing locked for any of this. Is this merely to entice the state and local officials to get behind this development? Again I say no to any taxes going towards this since this is nothing but a money grab of business that should remain in the downtown area. The Haslam's want nothing more to take all the profit for themselves.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Bridgeworks Development
Bridgeworks is a great example that no matter what facade is chosen the form is the problem. I do wish this prominent site held out for something better. I don't feel this new iteration is the best choice

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
Does anyone know if the white crane on the top of the tower will remain permanently there. Is it part of the window cleaning system and does it tuck into the angled facades when not used? Or is it just for construction?

Cleveland: Downtown: New Police Headquarters
Very impressed with this project. Such a great mov etc step away from the Opportunity Corridor site

This is a plan I could get behind!
