  1. ^For the record, I am not Denise. Nor have I lived near Canal Winchester/Pickerington (though I have visited the area 4 times in my life) (Those of you who have seen my real name [not Magyar] will understand the joke here)

Of course not. If he did, he wouldn't be called president, he would of been called dictator. It's congress that does the lawmaking. So. The suggestion by 3-4 members here is that we cut back on our consumtion of oil and be done with it. If someone else uses it up, so be it. This idea that we have to consume oil so no one else can use it is off-kilter at best. If Democrats get their way, W won't be remember like Hoover, he'll be remembered like Nixon and Harding.
  3. "Actually" attending or "stealthly following everyone else around" attending?

Inkalein at the Cincinnati meet doesn't count.
  5. Exactly. I'll make the roadie from Louisiana to Ohio for the next ODOT press conference to announce anything about I-73/74. As for now. North Carolina is building, South Carolina is rerouting, and Virginia can't fully commit itself yet.
  6. I think a little bit of each. Holly Beach wasn't built up like any of the Mississippi or Florida coastal towns. It was a small town, and outside of Grand Isle (65 miles due south of New Orleans....by boat) almost all the beachfront property in Louisiana (which isn't saying much).
  7. Now it reminds me South Campus prior to OSU Gateway being built. This is (was) Holly Beach, in SW Louisiana. It wasn't done in by Katrina. This was Hurricane Rita [sigh] Have a Hurricane on me...Tomorrow.
  8. That random colored window photo in Indy reminds me of those quasi-digital signs that use placards to make letters (which lead to words), when they malfunction. P.S. You could at least give credit to each photographer for their photos when you did the best-of collection for the Cincy meet. :-P
  9. Been nice knowing you then. :-P
  10. Northwood considers land gift for baseball field Toledo Blade, 5/25/06 When Northwood resident Casey Sybert heard that a Miracle League baseball field may be built in the city, she said she actually teared up a bit. Her six-year-old son, Austin, loves to swim and wants to play baseball. But dirt and stone fields aren't conducive to rounding the bases for someone like Austin, who has cerebral palsy and uses a wheelchair. A Miracle League baseball field, on the other hand, is custom-designed with a cushioned, rubberized turf, wheelchair-accessible dugouts, and a completely flat surface to eliminate any barriers to wheelchair-bound or visually impaired players. "He wants to play ball," Ms. Sybert said of her son, who attends Lark Elementary School.
  11. You need to try harder to get me to "come back home." If we pretend it's another Geography convention will you come? Only if we can figure out some way to finagle some $$$ from LSU to pay for my trip. Have to laugh, a friend of mine is going to be in Columbus the weekend of your meet for a Climatalogy conference @ OSU (I think he's part of 3 presentations). Alas, I can't tag along with him.

While not Cavs related (though about basketball) The demise of the Pistons, since they were up 2-0 on the Cavs, has been striking (have since gone 3-6). Is it more the players losing touch with their "toughness" or is "Flip" not that good when it comes to pressure games/series?
  13. Which building(s) along Central do they want to take out now?
  14. This probally more an indictment on me than C-bus, but... I can't make out a spatial pattern concerning either map. Meaning, the locations for the murders look random to me. :|
  15. Ok, so you and KJP were seperated at birth. :-)
  16. You need to try harder to get me to "come back home."
  17. He doesn't know Photoshop. He PMed me about that. :-D

And so is other illegal activity such as growing ganja, making amphetamines, drug dealing, and operating "chop shops."
  19. I've been under the impression that for the last 15 or so years that many universities (Ohio and beyond) have changed from a policy of quality over quanity for their incoming students. Rising minimum test scores, GPAs, and academic demands once students have driven universities to cut back on the number of students served. I'm sure there is a correlation between the decrease in quanity of students and the decrease in public funding for public education as well.
  20. I just wanted to interject this, but I do not think UC has ever had 44k students. The largest it has ever been is around 36K from all of the stats I have seen throughout the years. I think it grew some when it went from private to public in 70's (at which time OSU understandably tried to block it). http://www.uc.edu/about/ucfactsheet.html#enrollment I thought it would of been in the late 60s, since OSU spun off Wright & Cleveland St in '68
  21. Where did you expect Morrow County kids to go? Mt Vernon Nazerene? The Mt Gilead kids most likely go to BG, not only for the small town, but they can stay at main campus away from home. If they want to go to OSU, most likely they have to start at Marion or Mansfield (unless they got unique funding or abilities) which means staying at home. :|
  22. Nah. 50 cars minimum (and those do get national coverage; re: couple of pileups on I-94 in Western Michigan last year)
  23. I've gotten head over heals into graphic arts over the last 2-3 months and found myself designing a concert poster for a local bar here in Baton Rouge. I've completed a proof of the design and the bar owner likes it. But now I'm left with figuring out what to charge him for my work. Should it be based on how many copies he wants (tenatively 15-20), the amount of hours put into the design (I put in 25-30 hrs over the course of two weeks), or something inbetween. Are there other factors I should account for (beside printing) when negotiating? :?
  24. This was widely reported but the Akron Beacon Journal debunked it. The Nike contract does not have kickers for playing in a major market (LA, NY, CHI). "Some of his other endorsement deals do, but they represent much, much less than he can get by re-signing for a max contract in Cleveland." sure? i mean abj? no bias there..... Would you have prefered the Chicago Tribune or a newspaper from outside of Ohio to put your worried mind to rest?
