At one time, the second most dense city, next to Manhattan...
^ It might be ODOT. They have some aerial shots of Columbus from the 50s and early 60s that make Columbus look like the second coming of Chicago.

Hello--new and looking for relo advice (Columbus)
As mentioned previously, there's the big lake, a 4 hr drive north from Central Ohio. Smaller lakes within eyesight of Marysville include Indian Lake, northwest in Logan County, and Delaware and Alum Creek Reservoirs just to the east in Delaware Co. Hiking & Camping - default answer is the Hocking Hills, a 2 hr drive SE of Columbus.

Columbus: Demolition Watch
Magyar replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Architecture, Environmental, and PreservationIt took me the entire thread to remember where Lord Hall is (to the right of Denney Hall and across the street from Derby & Hayes Halls). Having never taken a step into Lord (but passed it thousand times going to/from Denney & Derby) I lean towards "saving" it, but if it really is beyond reclamation, then do what must be done.

Welcome To Detroit -- We Hope you Survive
Meanwhile back at the original topic of this thread. There has been another sighting of a "We Hope You Survive" sign on the Detroit border. This time along the Lodge Freeway at 8 Mile Rd. http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060415/METRO05/604150392/0/ARCHIVE

Praying won't help. The gulf coast is going to get hit before the barrior islands are mended (if at all). It's just a question of how much damage everyone can put up with.

Cleveland Guardians Discussion
I think the Astros came the closest in copying the Indians blueprint. Both teams signed their "kids" to long term deals in the early 90s, got new stadiums and had pretty good runs.

Dayton and Cincinnati: one metro? (Reprise)
Zanesville has (had?) it's own UHF station that, if you have a good antenna, can be barely picked up in Columbus. Parkersburg has it's own network station (Ch 3 IIRC), I don't remember which network affliation it has.

Baton Rouge likes Duct Tape from Ohio
The 3 page travel section in the Sunday Baton Rouge paper mentioned the Duct Tape festival in Avon and a contest in which the winner would get a all expense paid trip to the festival. [urlhttp://www.2theadvocate.com/features/travel/2635601.html][/url]

Could Cincinnati/Dayton be in line for an NBA team?
Maybe it's time for Ohio State to take back what was originally theirs. I think I'd prefer TOSU-C over CSU. :-P

Metro Toledo: Road & Highway News
You're thinking of US 90 and/or I-110 as being worked on in Biloxi. I drove I-10 from Slidell to I-65 (almost Mobile) back in December without any interuptions.
