They can drop 95,000 across the street from my apartment into "Death Valley" at LSU. But that doesn't mean the Saints would make a one way, 80 mile roadie from New Orleans to Baton Rouge. Same with the Lions and Ann Arbor.

I'm pass due showing my face to everyone (who didn't make the Columbus meet back in the spring) That's me in the middle. Lonnie Brooks (famous Blues guitarist/singer) on the right, his son Wayne Baker Brooks on the left. This was taken back in April I believe (maybe May)

As long as you can put up with the shoddy cartography and out-of-date data. I think I'll pass.

Why not go to a local drugstore, newstand, or Barnes & Noble? I'm sure you could get a map of Dayton at one of those locations (unless you don't live in Ohio).

And the Chill had a (then) minor league record for consecutive sellouts at 80 something games (over two seasons) around 1990. I'm still trying to figure out MrNYC's arguement? Is it an anti NHL rant? An anti sports expansion rant? A bash Columbus rant? All of the above?

First tie breaker is head-to-head competition and Michigan defeated Iowa earlier in the year.
  10. So where did COSI get the money for this?
  11. For Pig Boy & Edale: Here are links to a listing of Geography depts (for graduate work and Bachlors) Geography Dept. map And a listing of schools that offer planning (of various sorts) degrees: http://www.acsp.org/CareerInfo/linksbystate.htm Use at your own descresion. :)
  12. What's your goal in 5 or 10 years? What do you like to do? If you think along those lines, you'll find a program (and school) you'll like (or you can capituate and go to OSU instead :D ) BTW, it doesn't matter how bad you are at art. It's all about visualizing/imaginating and communicating your ideas to others. Afterwards you learn how to operate Computer Aided Design program/systems :)
  13. Someone is being way too optimistic about bus lines (that's what the green lines on that map represent, right?) to some of those stops. Further, I have problems with the choice of connections with some of those bus lines
  14. To answer the question about funding beliefs; IMHO, That diference between highways and rails is historic in nature but has turned into a trueism. Roads have always been "state property" while railroads were "private property." The Rail companies owned their rails, owned the land underneith the rails and stations (and in some case owned land out beyond, so they became real estate moguls). The idea that transit has to turn a profit comes out of railroads always making a profit (and then using those profits on the local transit lines since they never made a profit) Roads have always been state/county built and that the general populace pays for them. Going back to ownership, along with the rolling stock the rail companies also owned the rail cars and the people involved the daily activities. Detroit's involvement with the automobile ends the moment you drive your vehicle off the lot. Hopefully that made some sort of sense.
  15. They will be two partial interchanges instead of the one diamond interchange currently there. Work (officially) started on this project in July.
  16. Most of the arguements I've seen against rail recently are economic in nature. That and noise.

Prohibition was a constitutional act and it got repealed. So there is hope. It's just a matter of how long those effected can wait it out. :(

So did the Bengals do Cincinnati proud last night? :res: Any team that beats the Broncos is doing something right.....for Cleveland. :D BTW Al Michals, why didn't you want to talk about your two year stay as Reds play-by-play man? (He totally blew off a photo of him and Nuxall in the booth from back then)
