I thought that was going to be about the "Heartbeat Bill" given Hollywood threatening to blacklist Georgia for their similar bill. Haven't heard anything like that for Ohio yet.

Cincinnati: West End: TQL Stadium
It's still all over, but it's about as prevalent as UK-wear, and both are drowned by UC. I looked at the methodology of that map (again, assuming it's the one I saw a couple/few years ago) and it just didn't include UC in the population of school fandoms analyzed. Makes me wonder how many other schools are just not included that would clearly win some counties.

Yeah, I totally agree. Just sayin'. The "rainy day fund" would have been a good source for money to fix the Columbia Pkwy. landslide, though.

It would probably make sense in the long term to build a new bridge for transit vehicles and cars from Race to Madison.

Cincinnati: Fountain Square: Development and News
5/3 doesn't have the air rights over the former Macy's anymore, do they? It would be nice if this project were done in conjunction with whatever the plans come to be for the Macy's site. Not that there would necessarily be much interaction between the two spaces, but there could be. It's a little disappointing that the public has lost all say in what happens to the city's main "public" square. Hopefully it turns out nice anyway.

It looks like they're planning to build another garage in the central part of the block, like they've done at Mercer Commons. Probably will see some plans once they acquire all the parcels with a piece of the center (@taestell's red square).

Anyone know why the ebikes disappeared from the Red Bike map? I was thinking about finding one to use yesterday, only to see they're all gone.

Cincinnati: Liberty Street Road Diet
I think DOTE did a study determining that the bike lanes on Central Pkwy didn't increase crashes. However, to the extent there is confusion where it's absent from other streets with driving lanes that become parking lanes, I think it's largely due to the fact that the road bed isn't sufficiently broken up by paint and (mostly missing) plastic bollards, so the "curb lane" doesn't feel like a curb lane. Adding an actual curb and/or some planters and/or actually substantial bollards could fix this.

Suburban Sprawl News & Discussion
^ Interesting that they're using "Geuga County, Ohio" (sic) as the "most sprawling county"; wonder what data they used to determine that.

Cincinnati: Bicycling Developments and News
Wonder if anyone has heard how this will affect the pricing structure? I'm guessing the ebikes will cost extra to use. CitiBike in NYC has some ebikes in their fleet now, and they cost $2 per trip (on top of membership fees). Their prices are generally higher than RedBike's, but I could see RedBike charging $1 or 50 cents per ride. And/or having a higher-tier membership that includes ebikes.

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
There were a ton of articles about OTR being the most violent neighborhood in the country just before development really started picking up. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

A Road Is A Road To Socialism Road
There used to be more tolls, as well. Like the Roebling was tolled until the Brent Spence was built. The gas tax wasn't looked at as a sin tax when it was originally conceived (the externalities of burning gas were little understood at the time), but it also wasn't seen as the user fee to replace all user fees. I think it's fallacious to pick and choose intent behind the origin of any of these things and use that to invalidate evolved conceptions. None of it was ever static. The current funding scheme is Big Government at its worst: full of perverse incentives and unintended consequences.
