Suburban Cleveland: Development and News
Moral of the story...don't build on an old municipal waste landfill. The site is an environmental disaster and one spark away from a catastrophe.

Looks like someone is doing their due diligence and having utilities located on West St. Clair (primarily from West 9th east on St. Clair).

Anyone know of plans for a hotel on this Flats West Bank site? I've heard Osborn Engineering is involved and beyond that all that has been said is "Future redevelopment for hotel". They appear to be doing their due diligence on the site.

A very reliable source has told me that Valor Acres is only pursuing the SHW R&D facility. No intention of competing for the HQ. They feel confident the R&D would relocate, if tax incremental financing is right.

For what it's worth, there are two crane jumps in the animated construction video, so it looks like the crane will still go higher.

Cleveland: Random Development and News
I've heard recently from an airport official that they are doing long term master planning and the expectation from that effort is that they will recommend tearing down the concourses 1 by 1 and rebuilding one at a time. They've invested to much in everything they've done recently to start all over with a new terminal.

Rumor has it the old Brecksville VA site that is being redeveloped will be pushing hard for SW...hopefully it isn't for more than the R&D...

It looks like the Senate Finance Committee will have their first hearing on SB 39 on Tuesday, March 12th. It will be interesting to see how this progresses through the Senate this go round. If it gets through the Senate, hopefully the House will still stand in favor under this new General Assembly.

https://www.crainscleveland.com/real-estate/stark-sells-downtown-cleveland-headquarters "Although the change in limited liability corporations shows no sale price for the building at 1350 W. Third St., a mortgage recorded Dec. 24 by Stark indicates it has provided a $1.65 million loan to Rlfed Manager LLC, which was signed by Yaron Kandelker, an Israeli investor with property holdings in Northeast Ohio." "Yaron Kandelker is listed on LinkedIn as the CEO of Y.K. Realife Real Estate Ltd., which lists its location as Israel. Realife's Facebook page shows him and colleagues seeking investments in Moscow and other international locations for residential real estate it controls. Realife affiliates hold title to 53 single-family homes in Cuyahoga County, according to county records. Kandelker accepted a request to connect on LinkedIn with a Crain's Cleveland Business reporter on Wednesday, Jan. 2, but did not respond to messages with questions about the downtown deal by 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3." Anyone with thoughts on this?

It appears that Bob Stark (Stark Enterprises) and Ryan Sommers (Project Management Consultants) testified (or submitted testimony) as proponents at today's Ways and Means Committee meeting. Not sure what action came of that meeting yet.

Does anyone know if they will need to jack the crane, or is it at its' maximum height already?
