  1. There was an east-west expressway proposed thru Clifton along Taft Road; coincidentally named the Taft Expressway. It would have connected to I-75 at Western Hills Viaduct and proceeded east to I-71

That's the riff used for Dirty Jobs , how did I not recognize that until just now?
  3. The CAGIS online map explorer has imagery from 1996, pretty high rez, i think 6" pixel. You can see the straight shot of SkyWalk from the Convention Center thru Fountain Square, thru to across Main St. https://cagis.hamilton-co.org/cagisonline/
  4. Lots of Art-Deco and inspired

Temporary End of I-75 at Glendale Milford in 1963. Going south is the Wright Highway
  6. There is the Little Miami Scenic River Buffer they have to deal with. In respect to the Cedar Fair investment and improvements at KI....what of the millions of dollars did Paramount sink into the Park that still bear fruit?
  7. https://www.visitkingsisland.com/explore/orion It may be short, but it looks to pack a punch. Orion, Diamondback, Banshee, Beast, Mystic Timbers, and Flight of Fear make for one heckuva collection of coasters.
  8. Here is a fan prediction POV:

  11. Operationally, I-71 operates as 2 lanes at this choke point. The 2 right lanes are drop lanes as we all know, so the 2 left lanes funnel thru I-71 traffic well before the gore of left on-ramp from the Lateral. Yes, there will still be a weave for the drop lane to Red Bank Road; however, the weaving length will be made much longer and traffic will have more space to merge. This is not the only choke point along I-71 NB, the Kenwood Cut and the Cross County Loop Ramp still limit capacity. Inasmuch as it will remove the bottleneck , the main issue is safety. I cant pull it up ATM, but the section of I-71 NB from Dana to Smith/Edwards probably has a higher than predicted crash rate due to the queues that extend back into the freeflow section further back.
  12. Queen City Avenue used to have them after the one-ways joined, up thru Gehrum Ave
  13. ...and if you are in a pinch, you can rent the Home Depot Truck for what, $20 for the first 45 minutes?
  14. $70,680.00 Yikes: https://www.josephchevrolet.com/VehicleDetails/new-2019-Chevrolet-Silverado_2500HD-Crew_Cab_Standard_Box_4_Wheel_Drive_LTZ-Cincinnati-OH/3386103873 Now compare that to the white 2500 HD and 3500 HD's (e.g. work trucks)

Its to recover gas tax revenue lost to plug-in hybrids or all EV's.
  16. OldBearcat replied to a post in a topic in General Transportation
I know, that is very disappointing
  17. There is actually a dedicated, e.g quasi-public right-of-way, street network on the Liberty Center

A great comparison/summary document comparing as introduced (executive version) and In House Finance (as voted on presumably) is here: https://associationdatabase.com/aws/ACEC/asset_manager/get_file/305553?ver=0 Summary of major changes: Reduced gas tax increase from 18 cents to 10.7 cents per gallon beginning October 1st to be phased in over 3 years (5 cents, 3 cents, 2.7 cents by 2021) Increase tax on diesel fuel by 20 cents to 48 cents per gallon beginning October 1st to be phased in over 3 years (10 cents, 6 cents, 4 cents by 2021) There is no indexing but the creation of a study committee to report ODOT’s needs by October Increased funding for public transit to $70 million per year in flex funding $200 registration fee on electric vehicles, $100 on hybrid vehicles Allow for $5 permissive county license tag fee (max $30) Repeal the front license plate requirement

  21. Ironic, since the brewery being discussed was founded in part to encourage open mike, new bands and has video and audio music creation spaces for use.
  22. No they don't when compared to a traditional intersection. A driver has to look left to yield to get into a roundabout, that's it. For a single lane roundabout (RAB) this represents one conflict point that is the yielding driver's responsibility. There are 32 conflict points in a traditional intersection as compared to just 8 conflicts in a RAB intersection. All conflicts in a RAB are low angle and slow speed, whereas the 32 conflict points in a traditional intersection are high angle and higher energy points. A well-designed RAB puts the pedestrian crossing directly in front of the driver's eye, also with a pedestrian crossing set back one full vehicle length from the yield line (That way, pedestrians do not have to cross in front of drivers that are looking for their gap in traffic). There are 16 pedestrian/vehicle conflict points in a traditional intersection as compared to 8 pedestrian/vehicle conflicts in a RAB intersection.
  23. Good luck with that....
  24. There is no applicable reason of why the bike way flares out like that at Spring Street. If additional width is needed so vehicles can get back to the pump station, then that can be accomplished with reinforced turf (green pavement)
  25. Crazy. As I have already noted, the temporary merge from Hopple to 75N is very dangerous. Hopefully this gets modified in some fashion as part of this project, even if the circa-1972 ramp from I-74 is not rebuilt. yes, that ramp merge is temporary and will be removed and relocated as a direct merge to I-75 NB -- under the ramp from I-74 to I-75 NB -- per standard design.
